SO WE DO HAVE SOME UPCOMING, UH, COMMUNITY EVENTS ON SEPTEMBER 5TH.

WE HAVE OUR JONESVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD, UH, GATHERING AND COOKOUT.

UH, THAT'LL BE, AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 5TH AT 200 JONESVILLE ROAD, UM, FROM FIVE TO 7:00 PM WE ALSO HAVE SOME FLYERS IN THE BACK, IF ANYONE'S INTERESTED.

UH, WE HAVE FLYERS IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH.

UM, SO DURING THIS EVENT, RESIDENTS WILL HAVE THE CHANCE TO MEET WITH TOWN STAFF FROM SEVERAL KEY DEPARTMENTS, INCLUDING PLANNING, ENGINEERING, FIRE RESCUE, PUBLIC SAFELY, PUBLIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION, AND THE GULLAH GEECHEE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.

UH, THESE STAFF MEMBERS WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION ON A VARIETY OF ONGOING PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES, UM, INCLUDING, UM, A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TO REVAMP THE FORMER DRIFTWOOD STABLES, UH, ENHANCEMENTS TO ROSE PARKS, OPEN SPACES AND PATHWAYS, UH, STORMWATER MANAGEMENT AND DRIVEWAY ACCESS, UH, DISCUSSIONS ON ZONING DISTRICTS AND MAINTAINING COMMUNITY CHARACTER.

SO FEEDBACK FROM RESIDENTS WILL BE INVALUABLE IN HELPING THE TOWN CREATE PLANS TO ENHANCE THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND MANAGE GROWTH OF THE AREA.

UH, WE ALSO HAVE THE MUDDY CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD GATHERING AND COOKOUT, WHICH IS SCHEDULED ON SEPTEMBER 12TH, UM, AT 30 BRYANT ROAD.

UH, THE TIME WILL BE FIVE TO 7:00 PM AS WELL.

UM, VERY SIMILAR TO THE JONESVILLE EVENT.

UM, DURING THIS EVENT, RESIDENTS WILL HAVE THE CHANCE TO MEET WITH TOWN STAFF FROM SEVERAL KEY DEPARTMENTS, INCLUDING PLANNING, ENGINEERING, FIRE RESCUE, PUBLIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION, AS WELL AS THE GALLAH GEECHEE COMMUNITY, UH, DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.

UM, SO YOU'LL BE ABLE TO ASK THESE STAFF MEMBERS QUESTIONS IN REGARDS TO ONGOING PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES TO INCLUDE, UM, PROVIDING INPUT ON THE CONCEPTUAL PLANS FOR THE BRYANT ROAD TRACK, UM, THE TOWN OWNED PROPERTY ON BRYANT ROAD, UM, EFFORTS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES WITHIN AND ENHANCE THE MONEY CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENTS TO ROAD PARKS, OPEN SPACES, AND PARKWAYS.

UM, SO THERE COULD BE SOME POTENTIAL FINANCIAL COUNSELING AS WELL, BUT THERE COULD BE SOME POTENTIAL FOR A FUTURE PARTNERSHIP, UH, WITH ORGAN ORGANIZATIONS THAT DO SOME SIMILAR WORK.

UM, AND WE CONTINUE TO MEET WITH HABITAT AND ARE ACTIVELY REVIEWING AVAILABLE PROPERTIES SUITABLE FOR HABITAT DEVELOPMENT.

SO WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT PARTNERSHIP AND SEEING WHERE THINGS GO MOVING FORWARD.

UH, OUR, OUR GROUP THAT'S, UH, BEEN WORKING ON THAT, UH, SUBJECT, MUDDY CREEK, BRYANT ROAD.

UH, AND, AND, UH, OTHER NEW DEVELOPMENTS, UH, WAS INVITED TO COME OUT TO THAT, UH, DENNIS CRAWFORD AND SANDY WEST AND I WERE, WERE ABLE TO, TO BE OUT THERE.

UH, IT HAD BEEN, UH, THE HOME TO SEVERAL TRAILERS, UH, IN, IN RECENT YEARS.

BUT UTILITIES ARE EXTENDED TO THE, THE PROPERTY, UH, AND, UH, REALLY HAS A, A LOT OF POTENTIAL FOR, UH, AFFORDABLE WORKFORCE HOUSING.

UH, AND ALSO TO BE KIND OF A CORNERSTONE FOR THAT WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT GOES WELL BEYOND THIS SEVEN ACRES.

UH, SO WHEN, WHEN WE TALK ABOUT, UH, THE BRYANT ROAD TRACKS SPECIFICALLY, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THOSE SEVEN ACRES.

UH, WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE MUDDY CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A, A MUCH LARGER AREA THAT EXTENDS OUT TO A SPANISH WELLS ROAD AND, AND, UH, BEYOND.

AND, UH, PART OF THE IDEA THERE, UH, AND THIS, THIS IS COMING FROM TOWN STAFF, AND I THINK IT'S A, A GREAT IDEA, UH, IS THAT, UH, THIS CAN BE AN AREA FOR REVITALIZATION, UH, AS WELL AS NEW, NEW WORKFORCE HOUSING THAT CAN SPECIFICALLY GO ON THIS SEVEN ACRES ON, ON BRYANT ROAD.

UH, BUT ALSO, UH, IT, IT, IT REALLY HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO, TO TAKE A LOOK AT THAT NEIGHBORHOOD, UH, HAVE SOME, UH, COMMUNITY CENTERED ACTIVITIES THAT CAN GO ON, ON THE TRACK, UH, POSSIBILITY FOR SOME INCUBATOR, UH, THINGS GOING ON, UH, FOR NEW, UH, SMALL BUSINESSES.

UH, SO THAT'S, THAT'S ALL VERY EXCITING.

IT'S A, IT IS A HEAVY LIFT TO, TO GET THERE, UH, BUT THERE'S A LOT OF WILL, UH, THAT'S BEHIND IT, UH, AT THIS POINT.

AND THERE'S THE POTENTIAL FOR OTHER TRACKS, UH, THAT COULD, COULD TAKE SOME, UH, AFFORDABLE WORKFORCE HOUSING, UH, NEARBY THE BRYANT ROAD TRACK.

THAT'S NOT THE ONLY, ONLY ONE THAT'S GOT POSSIBILITIES FOR SOME, SOME NEW THINGS.

UH, SO THAT'S, THAT'S VERY EXCITING.

UH, I, I THINK AS A, AS A FOLLOW UP TO WHAT'S HAPPENING, UH, AT NORTH POINT AND ALSO WELL DOWN THE ROAD, UH, THAT, THAT'S PROBABLY OUR, OUR NEXT, UH, GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOME, SOME GOOD THINGS IN THE, IN THE COMMUNITY HOUSING.

UM, SO WHAT'S UNIQUE WITH THE BRYANT ROAD TRACK IS THAT THIS WILL BE A PATHWAY TO HOME OWNERSHIP.

UH, THESE WILL BE DWELLINGS FOR, FOR PURCHASE.

UM, I WILL ALSO ADD THAT AT THE MUDDY CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD EVENT, WE'RE GOING TO INCORPORATE THE FEEDBACK THAT WE RECEIVED FROM THE RESIDENTS INTO THE OVERALL PLAN.

UH, SO, YOU KNOW, IT'S NOT JUST A COMMUNITY COOKOUT TO MEET THE STAFF, IT'S ALSO FOR US TO LISTEN AND LEARN AND INTEGRATE THAT, UM, FEEDBACK INTO OUR OVERALL PLAN.

AND GOOD POINT WHERE WE, WHEREAS NORTH POINT HAS IT IS, UH, PRIMARILY, UH, RENTAL ORIENTED.

UH, THE THINKING IS THAT THE, THE SEVEN ACRE TRACT, UH,

THAT THAT POTENTIALLY COMES NEXT IS, IS OWNERSHIP ORIENTED, UH, FOR THE, FOR THE HOMES THAT CAN GO ON, ON THAT TRACK.

A LOT OF WORK TO BE DONE.

UH, THERE'S NO, NO SPECIFIC LAND PLAN DESIGNED YET.

UH, BUT THERE IS A, A PLANNING GROUP THAT, UH, THE TOWN'S LOOKING TO ENGAGE.

I THINK THAT'S, THAT A, A FAIR CHARACTERIZATION TO US.

UH, SO THAT'S EXCITING.

UH, I THINK THAT'S ONE OF THE, ONE OF THE TYPES OF THINGS THAT THIS GROUP HAS BEEN LOOKING TO, TO BE ABLE TO SINK OUR TEETH INTO ON A GREAT POSSIBILITIES THERE, DENNIS, JACK AND QUINCY DO, IN CONNECTION TO THE HOME OWNERSHIP ASPECT OF IT, UM, ARE WE ALSO CONCURRENTLY TRYING TO DETERMINE, DETERMINE HOW THAT WOULD WORK, HOW WE HELP PEOPLE WITH HOME OWNERSHIP? I WOULD ASSUME THERE'S DOWN PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO ASSIST IN OR THINGS OF THAT NATURE.

IS THAT RIGHT? YEAH.

UM, I WOULD SAY THAT'S A PART OF OUR CONCEPTUAL PLANNING PROCESS TO THINK THROUGH, YOU KNOW, HOW WE COULD MAKE ACCESS TO THESE HOMES, UM, UM, ATTAINABLE FOR THE WORKFORCE.

UM, SO THOSE ARE AREAS THAT THE, THE WORK GROUP COULD CERTAINLY HELP US THINK THROUGH.

UM, JUST TO TAG ONTO THAT, THERE ARE SEVERAL ENTITIES OUT THERE THAT HAVE RECENTLY RECEIVED FUNDING, SPECIFICALLY FOR HOME OWNERSHIP DOWN PAYMENTS, THE BEAUFORT, JASPER HOUSING TRUST, UM, JUST DID A ROUND OF GRANTS FOR HOME OWNERSHIP.

I BELIEVE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WAS ONE OF THOSE, BUT THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHERS.

SO I FEEL LIKE THE, THE KEY HERE REALLY IS HOW WE CAN COORDINATE ALL OF THESE RESOURCES, BECAUSE THERE ARE, THERE ARE SOME FUNDS OUT THERE, WE'VE JUST GOTTA CONNECT THE DOTS SO PEOPLE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THESE HOMES KNOW ABOUT THESE OPPORTUNITIES.

VERY GOOD.

O OTHER COMMENTS? I HAVE JUST A QUICK QUESTION, AND THAT IS, UM, WILL THIS WORK GROUP BE WORKING ON WHO WILL BE, UM, AN APPLICATION PROCESS, HOW PEOPLE WILL BE SELECTED TO POTENTIALLY BE A PART OF THIS PROGRAM? I THINK THAT'S SOMETHING FOR US TO, UM, PROBABLY DISCUSS FURTHER.
