WE'RE LOOKING AT MARCH, MIDDLE OF MARCH, UM, AND THEN FINAL COMPLETION SOMEWHERE AROUND MIDDLE OF APRIL.

UM, THERE WERE NO SPECIES TREES THAT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED, SO IT'S JUST PINE TREES, DEAD PINE TREES AND, AND SMALLER DEAD GUM TREES AND THINGS LIKE THAT.
AND THEN WE ALSO HAD THEM, UM, I DON'T WANNA SAY, I GUESS I'D SAY RAISED THE CANOPY FROM THE GROUND UP.
UH, SO WE DON'T HAVE LIMBS, UH, HANGING AND DANGLING ON THE TOP OF PEOPLE'S CARS WHILE THEY'RE PARKED IN THERE.
SO, UH, CRAIG WEBER SECURITY, HE TOOK THE LEAD ON THAT TO, TO ORGANIZE THE PARKING LOT WHILE THEY CAME IN AND DID THIS WORK.

THAT WAY WE DON'T HAVE TREES GROWING RIGHT BACK UP IN THE APPROACH IN THE FUTURE.
I MAKE A RECOMMENDATION, UM, ACTUALLY SUGGEST FROM PASSENGERS, WE COULD PUT A COUPLE OF PALM TREES IN THE GREEN SPACE AREA THERE TO PARKING LOT, RIGHT? OKAY.
PARKING LOT KIND OF, YOU KNOW, IN FRONT OF THE, THE FRONT ENTRANCE.
WHEN WE DID THAT CANOPY LOWERING AND REMOVED THE DEAD TREES, MIRACULOUSLY SIX PALM TREES APPEARED RIGHT WHEN YOU PULL INTO THE FRONT, ALMOST LIKE THEY WERE PUT THERE WHEN THE PARKING LOT WAS BUILT.
AND THEY WERE MONUMENT SIX TREES, PERFECTLY ALIGNED WITH THE CENTER GOING INTO THE AIRPORT.
I WAS LIKE, JOHN, DID YOU NOTICE THAT? HE GOES, YOU'D NEVER RECOGNIZE THOSE PALM TREES UNTIL THE TREES, THE DEAD ONES AROUND.
NOW WE HAVE SIX PALM TREES RIGHT IN ENTRANCE.
WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO MITIGATE 'EM.

FIRST OF ALL, UM, IN REGARDS TO THE CONCOURSE, UH, IT WAS MY FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO GO OVER TO SEE THE AIRPORT, UH, SIDE DURING THE DAY WITH THE DISPLAY OF THE PLANES AND THE CARS, AND IT WAS EXCELLENT AND I THINK IT REALLY ADDED TO THE EVENT.
UM, I DID HAVE A COMMENT REGARDING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN, AND I SEE WITHIN THAT, UM, THERE IS A PLAN FOR 26, 27 AND IN FUTURE YEARS IN REGARDS TO THE PURCHASE OF LAND, UH, ASSOCIATED WITH THE RUNWAY, UM, MOVEMENT, NOT THE RUNWAY, THE TAXIWAY MOVEMENT.
AND, UM, JUST WAS, YOU KNOW, AS I'VE SAID BEFORE, WE'RE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MOVEMENT, NOT ONLY, UH, FOR OUR RESIDENTS CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND THE SAFETY RELATED CONCERNS, BUT WE'RE ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE IMPACT TO OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES AND OUR DESIRE TO RETAIN THOSE BUSINESSES.
SO, UH, FIRST OF ALL, I WAS SURPRISED THIS WAS PA PART OF THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN.
I JUST WANNA UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS.
UH, LAST DISCUSSION I HAD WITH JOHN WAS THAT, UM, ANY DECISIONS REGARDING, UM, MOVEMENT OF THE TAXIWAY AND IMPLICATIONS TO BUSINESSES WOULD BE PART OF THE MASTER PLAN AND AIRPORT LAYOUT PLAN.

SO WE'RE REWRITING REWORKING OUR MASTER PLAN.
THAT PROCESS IS A ROUGHLY A TWO YEAR PROCESS.
WE STILL HAVE TO SUBMIT PROJECT PLANS TO THE STATE AND TO THE FAA, IDENTIFYING THE PROJECTS THAT WE'VE HAD LISTED AND BEEN WORKING ON OVER THE YEARS.
WE'RE WORKING WITH THE FAA AND I, I GOTTA SAY THIS THE RIGHT WAY.
WE'RE WORKING AND GOING TO MEET WITH THE FAA.
AND ULTIMATELY WHAT WE'RE GOING TO GO UP THERE WITH ARE TWO CIPS.

AND THAT NEEDS TO BE DISPELLED.
UM, IS NOT, I THINK THAT CAME, THAT CAME FROM A MISREPORTING PROBLEM IN THE ISLAND PACKET ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO WHEN THEY DID A STORY ON THE, UH, AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM.
UH, WHOEVER WROTE THE STORY DECIDED TO INSERT THEIR OWN INTERPRETATION OF WHAT WAS GOING ON AND NOTED A RUNWAY EXTENSION WAS POSSIBLE AT THAT TIME.
AND THAT'S WHEN PROXIMITY RESIDENTS, YOU KNOW, OVER IN HILTON HEAD AND, AND PALMETTO, UH, PALMETTO HALL IN PORT ROYAL, YES, ALL GOT, ALL GOT UPSET.
