SO, EXCELLENT TIME TO, UH, TO TAKE EVERYBODY ON KIND OF THE INSIDE TOUR THERE AND, AND SHOW THEM WHAT THE BUILDING LOOKS LIKE AND, UH, AND HAVE A CHANCE TO ASK QUESTIONS AND, AND THAT SORT OF THING TOO.

SO I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT EVENT AND, UM, HOPEFULLY IT WAS BENEFICIAL TO THE FOLKS WHO ARE WORKING ON THE MASTER PLAN AS WELL, TO SEE WHAT THAT BUILDING'S GONNA LOOK LIKE.

AND AS WE LIKE TO, TO DO AT THE AIRPORT, WE OPEN IT UP TO THE PUBLIC AND, AND WE HAD A FIELD TRIP A FEW WEEKS AGO, AND WE'VE GOT ANOTHER ONE NEXT WEEK WITH, UH, ANOTHER SET OF CLASSES FROM THIS ROYAL OAKS ACADEMY.

UH, AND THEY'RE LOCATED REAL CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT, SO IT'S CONVENIENT FOR THEM.

BUT THEY, UH, THEY BROUGHT SOME FOLKS OVER AND HAD A CHANCE TO, TO SEE THE, THE ARF AND, UH, DO THE RIDE ALONGS AS YOU CAN SEE.

AND THEY ACTUALLY GOT TO GO UP IN THE TOWERS RIGHT BEFORE WE STARTED THE CONSTRUCTION RENOVATION IN THERE.

SO THEY'RE PROBABLY THE LAST GROUP TO BE ABLE TO GO UP IN THE TOWER FOR A LITTLE BIT UNTIL THAT PROJECT'S DONE.

BUT, UM, ANOTHER GREAT EXPERIENCE AND, AND, UH, MAKING SOME NEW YOUNG AVIATION FRIENDS.

AND THEN UP AT, UH, BEAUFORT EXECUTIVE, WE HAD THE GIRLS IN AVIATION EVENT.

AND THIS WAS STARTED OR KIND OF LED BY THE, UH, SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND THEIR, I GUESS OUR PUBLIC AFFAIRS REP WAS, UH, WAS ONE WHO KIND OF SET THIS UP.

AND THEN MARLENE AND BRANDON PUT THIS TOGETHER, UH, FOR THE AIRPORT AND SET EVERYTHING UP AND CHIEF BROUGHT THE, THE NEW FIRETRUCK UP.

SO THAT WAS FUN.

EVERYBODY GOTTA SEE THE, THE RF VEHICLE AND LOTS OF BOOTHS AND THINGS SET UP THERE.

BUT THE, UH, THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE HAD THEIR HELICOPTER OUT THERE AND ON DISPLAY, AND IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, I THINK THEY HAD FOUR FEMALE PILOT SLASH FLIGHT CREW.

SO THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN KIND OF THE IMPETUS FOR STARTING THIS EVENT.

BUT, UM, DEFINITELY SOME GREAT ENCOURAGEMENT FOR FOLKS FOR, FOR YOUNG LADIES AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN GENERAL JUST TO GET INVOLVED IN AVIATION.

SO WE'RE EXCITED TO DO THAT BECAUSE THERE, THERE IS, WE GO THROUGH CYCLES AND AVIATION WHERE THERE'S SHORTAGES OF, OF FOLKS.

SO IT'S DEFINITELY GOOD TO PLANT THAT SEED AND GET PEOPLE THINKING ABOUT A CAREER IN AVIATION.

AND THEN CHIEF WENT UP, UH, LAST WEEK RIGHT TO GREENVILLE SPARTANBURG AND WAS A, ONE OF THE EVALUATORS FOR THEIR TRI-ANNUAL A F UM, AND A EP EXERCISE.

UM, SO THIS, EVERY THIRD YEAR, EVERY THREE YEARS YOU DO A, A FULL SCALE EXERCISE ON AN AIRPORT ON A PART 1 39 AIRPORT TO TEST YOUR ARF AND TO TEST YOUR AIRPORT EMERGENCY PLAN.

AND SO IT, IT INVOLVES EVERYBODY ON THE AIRPORT, BUT IT ALSO INVOLVES FOLKS OFF THE AIRPORT.

SO YOU GET THE HOSPITALS TIED IN, YOU GET, UM, YOU KNOW, SHERIFF'S OFFICE TIED IN.

YOU GET EMS TIED IN, UM,

ALL OF YOUR MUTUAL AID RESPONDERS.

SO IT COULD BE OTHER FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND OTHER EMERGENCY, UH, FOLKS LIKE THAT.

YOU GET THE FBI INVOLVED IN THIS, DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR SCENARIO LOOKS LIKE, THEY'LL GET BRIEFED UP ON IT.

BUT IT, IT'S AN ALL, UM, ALL INCLUSIVE AND, AND A VERY COMPLEX AND COMPLICATED EVENT.

WE'VE HAD, UM, AS YOU CAN SEE ON HERE, SURGE GROUP STEPPED UP FIRST AND THEY TOOK CARE OF THE FIRST FIVE DAYS.

SO JUST PHENOMENAL COMMUNITY SUPPORT.

WE'VE HAD THE HOSPITAL, UM, TWICE THIS WEEK PROVIDE LUNCHES.

AND, UM, THE TSA FOLKS ARE EXTREMELY APPRECIATIVE OF THIS BECAUSE WHILE THE SHUTDOWN HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER A PAYCHECK, WE DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS IS LASTING.

SO RIGHT NOW THEY'RE, THEY'RE WORKING AND THEY'RE, THEY'RE NOT BEING PAID.

AND I KNOW THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED, ONCE THE GOVERNMENT CAME BACK ONLINE, THE REGULAR PAYCHECK STARTED HAPPENING, BUT IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET THAT BACK PAY TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THAT TIME.

SO DEPENDING ON HOW LONG THIS GOES THERE, THERE ARE DEFINITELY SOME POSSIBILITIES FOR, FOR SOME HARDSHIPS HERE.

SO I JUST ENCOURAGE, UH, WE'RE GONNA TRY, I THINK WE'RE KEEPING THIS GOING THROUGH THE END OF THIS WEEK AT LEAST.

UH, IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE I WILL SAY, AND I WILL TELL YOU THAT YOUR CHAIRMAN IS SOMETIMES LAXING IN SOME OF THE THINGS IN HOW QUICKLY HE GETS THINGS DONE.

AND I HAD TOLD JOHN I WOULD DO THIS.

IT WAS A VERY GOOD IDEA AND I FINALLY DID IT.

SO THERE HAS BEEN AN EMAIL SENT TO ALICE, UH, CHAIRMAN OF THE, UM, COUNTY COUNCIL ASKING TO, TO PROVIDE, TO, FOR US TO DO AN AD HOC COMMITTEE FOR HER TO SET UP AN AD HOC COMMITTEE WITH MEMBERS FROM OUR BOARD AS WELL AS MEMBERS FROM THE, UH, COUNCIL, UH, COUNTY COUNCIL, UM, TO SIT DOWN, TO GO OVER A WAY THAT WE CAN MAKE THE HANGAR PROGRAM MOVE FORWARD WITH ALL THE HANGERS.

I THINK, UH, WHAT I HAD REQUESTED WAS THAT WE, THE PEOPLE THAT SHE CHOOSE, I THINK, UM, UM, YORK GLOVER NEEDS TO BE ON THERE SINCE THAT'S PART OF HIS DISTRICT.

BUT I ALSO ASKED THAT MAYBE PEOPLE WHO ARE ON TOWN COUNCIL OR CITY COU, UH, COUNTY COUNCIL, UH, WHO MAYBE AREN'T AS POSITIVE TOWARDS THIS PROJECT OR DON'T KNOW AS MUCH ABOUT THE AIRPORT BE ON THAT BOARD SINCE WE'LL HAVE AIRPORT BOARD MEMBERS TO HELP SUPPORT AND EDUCATE EVERYONE.

AND I THINK THAT MAKES IT A LOT EASIER FOR THEM TO GO FORWARD, UM, TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING.

BECAUSE WHAT WE FOUND, UM, AND I'M GONNA SPEAK FOR STEVE AND JOHN A. LITTLE BIT FROM OUR DISCUSSIONS, IT'S HARD TO TALK TO FINANCE COMMITTEE IN A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE, UM, WHEN MOST OF THE PEOPLE ON THAT COMMITTEE ARE NOT EDUCATED ON REALLY WHAT IT IS THAT THE AIRPORT PROVIDES, WHAT THE ECONOMIC IMPACT IS, UH, ALL THE OTHER THINGS.

SO I THINK HOPEFULLY THIS, THIS WAY, UH, IF ALICE AGREES AND SETS UP THIS AD HOC COMMITTEE, WE CAN MOVE FORWARD, UM, AND, UH, GET SOME POSITIVE, UH, TRACTION ON THE HANGERS.

AND I DON'T THINK WE HAD ANYTHING ELSE FROM A RW IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE.

ANYTHING ELSE? UH, BRANDON, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING, UH, ANY BIG NEWS AT THE AIRPORT AT ALL? OKAY.
