RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 17 ACTIVE CASES YOU'LL SEE SOME OF THESE PROJECTS KIND OF CARRY OVER YEAR OVER YEAR. BUT LOOK AT THAT OVERALL ABOUT 84% OF THOSE REQUESTS THAT HAVE COME THROUGH ARE COMPLETED TO DATE AND WE CONTINUE THROUGH THIS PROGRAM TO COLLABORATE INTERNALLY WITHIN WITH SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS HERE WITHIN THE TOWN.

BUT WE ALSO WORK WITH OUTSIDE AGENCIES LIKE PRETTY MUCH THE HERITAGE LIBRARY WELL AS LOWCOUNTRY GULF FOUNDATION IN ORDER TO BRING THESE PROJECTS TO LIFE.

I WILL TELL YOU AN AVERAGE OF ABOUT 60 OF THESE PROJECTS I HAVE BEEN THOROUGHLY A PART OF THROUGHOUT 2024 FROM SCHEDULING SITE VISITS, WALKING THROUGH HOMES WITH PROPERTY OWNERS ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO ASSISTING ADMIN PERSONNEL AND OUR BUILDING INSPECTORS TO GET IN THERE AND TO MAKE SURE THINGS WERE DONE RIGHT IN CLOSE COORDINATION WELL WITH OUR CONTRACTORS. ABSOLUTELY THEY WERE BOTH FROM ARPA FUNDING. SO THAT DOES NOT IS NOT CALCULATED IN MONEY FOR EITHER ITSELF AND THERE IS NO BUDGET ITEM FOR THE TOWN FOR EITHER PROGRAM. CORRECT. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GO BACK TO MR. HANSON'S COMMENT AS WELL. YOU KNOW, I THINK THE IT WOULD BEHOOVE THE TOWN TO FIND SOME FUNDS AS THEY FOR MOST THINGS THEY WANT TO FUND DO LOOK INTO THIS I MEAN I THINK THIS AS POINTED OUT IN THIS THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF EVERYONE.

ALL OF THE DRAFT PLANS ARE BEING PREPARED BY STAFF AND OUR CONSULTANT SO THAT WILL BE A TOTAL SEVEN DRAFT PLANS FOR THOSE DISTRICTS. WE HELD A SERIES OF PUBLIC MEETINGS OVER THE COURSE OF JANUARY THROUGH MARCH WHERE WE HAD OVER 700 SURVEY RESPONDENTS, 300 ATTENDEES TO THOSE VARIOUS MEETINGS. WE WERE ABLE TO GET INPUT THROUGH A VARIETY OF INTERACTIVE STATIONS. WE LEARNED INFORMATION ON ZONING CONCERNS AND TRAFFIC CONCERNS, NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS SO WE GOT EXTREMELY VALUABLE THROUGH THROUGH THOSE MEETINGS AND THROUGH THOSE SURVEYS THAT INFORMATION WE'VE BEEN FUNNELING TO OUR CONSULTANT AS WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE OTHER PROPERTY PROJECT WHICH IS THE LAND MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE. SO AT THIS TIME BETWEEN THE TWO PROJECTS WE ARE RELAYING INFORMATION THAT WE'RE LEARNING THROUGH DISTRICTS TO OUR CODE CONSULTANT AND THEY ARE WORKING IN THE BACKGROUND ON THE INITIAL MODULES FOR THE LAND MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE BUT RELATIVELY NEW TO LAND MANAGEMENT. NOW AS YOU'RE AWARE WE HAVE KIND OF TWO INITIATIVES RELATIVE TO THE LAND ORDINANCE WHICH IS THE PROPERTY AMENDMENTS AND THEN THE FULL OVERHAUL PROJECT. SO WE'RE NEARING THE COMPLETION WITH OUR PROPERTY AMENDMENTS THERE BEFORE TOWN COUNCIL FOR ADOPTION AT TIME.

BUT IT'S IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER RELATIVE TO THE PROJECT OVERALL THAT WE'RE NOT AIMING TO MAKE HUGE CHANGES. WE'RE LOOKING TO IMPROVE ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS LIKE THE THE SUBDIVISIONS AND THE FAMILY COMPOUNDS. SO WE'RE WE'RE NOT LOOKING AT WHOLESALE CHANGES. WE'RE LOOKING AT WAYS THAT WE CAN IMPROVE FROM LESSONS LEARNED AND WHAT WE'RE HEARING FROM THE COMMUNITY RELATIVE TO ITEMS. THIS PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO COME TOWN COUNCIL IN NOVEMBER FOR A WORKSHOP.

RIGHT NOW BEHIND THE SCENES WE ARE PLANNING PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT PLANNING ENGAGEMENT WITH THE COMMISSION AND THE TASK FORCE. SO ONCE WE HIT THAT MARK WITH TOWN COUNCIL WE WILL HAVE MORE CONFIDENCE IN THE INFORMATION THAT WE CAN SHARE WITH HOW ALL OF THAT WILL BE SET UP.

BUT IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION AS WELL AS THE TASK FORCE WILL BE STAKEHOLDERS IN THE REVIEW OF THE CHANGES TO THE LAND MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE.

YOU MENTIONED THE TEN PRIOR RECOMMENDATIONS THAT ARE BEFORE TOWN COUNCIL NOW THE 40 AMENDMENTS ARE BEFORE COUNCIL NOW SO THOSE WERE THE AMENDMENTS THAT CAME THROUGH.

AS YOU RECALL WE HAD MULTIPLE PHASES OF CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN GOING FORWARD SINCE 2020 I BELIEVE. SO THIS WAS THE LAST SET OF THOSE PIECEMEAL CHANGES THAT THAT WE ARE ADOPTING PRIOR TO THE FULL. I WILL SAY THOUGH THAT WE'RE ALSO RELAYING THOSE CHANGES TO OUR CODE CONSULTANT AND WE'RE LOOKING AT WAYS THAT WE CAN EVEN BETTER REFINE SOME OF SOME OF THOSE THAT WE HAVE CURRENTLY UNDERWAY.
