WE'VE GOT OUR MINUTES APPROVED SO I GUESS WE'LL HEAR NOW FROM COLONEL HERE WHO'S THE CHAIR FROM YOU COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND GIVE US A PRESENTATION WE'RE HAPPY TO HEAR YOU THINK SEEN MORE OF YOU IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS THAN I HAVE IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. 30 YEARS AGO IF THE COUNTY AND THE CITY OF BLUFFTON HAD A COUNTY SAT DOWN AND SAID HOW ARE WE GOING TO DEVELOP THIS AREA AND IF WE COULD TAKE THEM BACK IN TIME TO WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY? I WOULD TELL YOU ONE THING WHICH DO DIFFERENTLY IS GET THE SCHOOL DISTRICT INVOLVED BECAUSE WE MIGHT HAVE BEEN THERE BUT WE DID NOT TALK ABOUT WHERE SCHOOLS NEED TO GO AND TODAY WE HAVE SCHOOLS THAT HAVE ATTENDANCE ZONES BECAUSE THE GROWTH HAPPENED IN SPURTS AND STARTS AND FITS AND DIFFERENT PLACES. SO WE RIGHT NOW HAVE SCHOOL BUSSES THAT GO RIGHT PAST A

SCHOOL THAT THE CHILDREN COULD ACTUALLY OR CAN WALK TO TO GET TO A SCHOOL TO A HEAD ROOM TAKE THEM AND WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO THE NEXT THREE OR FOUR YEARS HOPEFULLY GROWTH IS DONE AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL DONE. WE SET UP THESE ZONES AND THAT'S AN EMOTIONAL THING FOR PARENTS AND KIDS AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT'S NOT GOING TO BE FUN .

THEY'RE AN ELEMENTARY BEAUFORT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND IT'S GOT KIND OF SHOW YOU HERE ARE THE GROWTH IN ATTENDANCE IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS I THINK THE BUT IT WAS AT RELATIVELY THE SAME HERE'S THE STUDENTS LIVE IN THE ATTENDANCE ZONE WHICH IS DIFFERENT BECAUSE WE ARE SO CHOICE SO FOR EXAMPLE BEAUFORT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HAS A GIFTED TALENTED PROGRAM AND SO MY TWO GRANDSONS WENT TO ELEMENTARY AND THEY WERE SAYING WELL ONE OF THEM NEEDS TO GO ACCORDING TO THE TEACHERS AND EVERYTHING AND THE GIFTED AND PROGRAM BEAUFORT ELEMENTARY ALSO HAS EXPANDED SPECIAL EDUCATION AND THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVEN'T BEEN IN SCHOOLS FOR A WHILE WOULD PROBABLY BE SURPRISED TO SEE THE TYPES OF STUDENTS THAT WE HAVE THAT ARE WHEELCHAIR BOUND OR DEAF OR DUMB SOME PEOPLE CAN'T SPEAK HAVE LEARNING ISSUES, HAVE EMOTIONAL.

ALL OF THAT IS IN OUR SCHOOLS AS WELL. AND SOME OF THIS YOU'RE ALSO SEE UP HERE YOU'RE BUILT BUILDING CAPACITY. THAT'S THE CAPACITY OF THE BUILDING WHEN IT WAS FIRST PUT ON THE GROUND AND THEN THE HERE'S THE PROGRAM TO AND LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A BUILDING AND PROGRAM CAPACITY PART OF THAT IS SOME OF THE PROGRAMS THAT WE HAVE TO HAVE FOR EXAMPLE OR THE SPECIAL EDUCATION IT TAKES MORE ROOM, MORE FACILITIES. AND IF YOU'VE BEEN DOWN SAVANNAH HIGHWAY IN THE MORNING OR THE AFTERNOON YOU SEE THE LINE OF CARS STRETCHED OUT THERE IF YOU DOWN BY BRIDGES CHARTER SCHOOL YOU'LL SEE THE LINE OF CARS WELL BRIDGES ALL THE CHARTER SCHOOLS DON'T HAVE BUS SERVICE EITHER AND THE CHOICE PARENTS DON'T HAVE BUS SERVICE AND THAT CAUSES ISSUES AND RIGHT I'M TALKING WITH RIVERVIEW CHARTER SCHOOL AND SAY YOU GOT TO COME UP WITH A DIFFERENT ANOTHER IDEA HERE I I THINK THAT WE'RE TRYING TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT PUTTING A ROAD AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THEIR PROPERTY SO THEY CAN MOVE AROUND AND SEE IT OFF THE STREET.
