THEY SAID YOU NEED TO STAY WITHIN THE EXISTING ALIGNMENT SO AGAIN THE COUNTY AND TOWN WERE TOGETHER MADE A PETITION FOR THREE SPECIFIC REQUESTS TO AGAIN LIMIT IMPACT INSIDE THE STONEY COMMUNITY. THAT'S PROBABLY THE BIGGEST COMPONENT OF PROJECT THAT WE ALL HEAR ABOUT AND SO WE'RE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE THE IMPACT BUT HOW MUCH CAN WE REDUCE IT? SO WE MADE A REQUEST SPECIFIC TO THAT THEY CAME BACK LAST WEEK AND SAID YES TO THAT REQUEST. HOWEVER REQUEST IS CONTINGENT UPON THEM AND AS I SAID A MUNICIPAL CONSENT IS PLANNED FOR THE TOWN IN THE EARLY PART OF JUNE AND IF PROVIDED THEN THAT WOULD BE SENT TO FEDERAL HIGHWAY AND THE DOCUMENT THE FONZI DOCUMENT FOR THERE WOULD BE AN APPROVAL AND IF SO THEN THEY WOULD REVIEW THAT AND GET THEIR BLESSING AND APPROVAL THERE AT THE OF JUNE 1ST OF JULY IF WE'RE SUCCESSFUL WITH THAT THEN THE PROJECT MOVES INTO FINAL DESIGN AND RIGHT AWAY ACQUISITION AND UTILITY COORDINATION MOVES THE PROJECT INTO FULL AND I AND THAT IS 100% UPDATE THERE IS SOME FUNDING COMPONENTS TO THAT WE'RE WORKING THROUGH THE STATE DIFFERENT TOPIC BUT THAT TO SO A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT THINGS IN THE AIR HOPEFULLY IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS WE'LL SEE A LOT OF UPDATES ON 217. SAM'S POINT TURN LANE OBVIOUSLY WAS THE FIRST ONE TO GET COMPLETED. SO THAT PROJECT WAS COMPLETED I BELIEVE IN 2021 AND THEN ALSO THE OTHER PROJECT THAT IS COMPLETED LADY ISLAND IS AIRPORT FRONTAGE PHASE ONE AND THAT'S FROM LOST ISLAND TO AIRPORT FRONTAGE CIRCLE THAT GIVES EVERYBODY IN THIS AREA A CONNECTION TO MAKE A SAFE LEFT TURN AT A SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION. ALL OF OTHER PROJECTS ARE IN DESIGN EXCEPT FOR MAYFAIR COURT EXTENSION. SO IT'S RIGHT NOW AT $10 WE'RE COLLECTING APPROXIMATELY 2.5 A YEAR 2.5 MILLION. SO WHEN WE INCREASE WE'RE LOOKING CLOSER AT ABOUT FOUR, FIVE, $5 MILLION. SO THAT IS GOING TO BE A NICE INCREASE FOR THE COUNTY. BUT WE ARE EXPANDING OUR ROAD USE FEE IS PRIMARILY FOR REPAVING PAVING WE'RE EXPANDING ABOUT 3.5 A YEAR. SO WHEN YOU COUNTY WHAT SPECIFICALLY DO YOU MEAN UNINCORPORATED COUNTY? COUNTY TO ME ANYWAY SO THE ROAD USE FEE IS OBVIOUSLY SUFFERED IN SALES TAX BUT IT IS COLLECTED ON ALL THOSE THAT ARE REGISTERED AND YES SO IT CAN BE USED EVERYWHERE ON COUNTY ROADS, MUNICIPAL ROADS AND STATE NO PRIVATE ROADS AND THAT $20 HAS ALREADY BEEN IMPLEMENTED RIGHT AS IT WILL START. YES. SO IT STARTS IN THE NEW FISCAL YEAR. YEAH. SO SO THESE PROGRAMS THIS IS AS I SAID THE FLEXIBILITY COMPONENT, THE THE SALES TAX COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED COUNTY COUNCIL AND SO THESE ARE DIFFERENT ELEMENTS OF SAFETY PROJECTS. SO SAFETY BRIDGES IS AT AN INTERSECTION AIRBASE AS WELL. WE NEED ARE YOU JUST NEED A RIGHT TURN HERE AND THAT'LL MAKE THIS INTERSECTION SAFER. WELL UM, THESE ARE OUR PROJECTS THAT MAY NOT WHEN WE COMPARE SAFETY PROJECTS TO THE STATE OUR INTERSECTIONS MAY WARRANT SOME NEED HERE LOCALLY WE THINK . SO THESE ARE THE REALLY FLEXIBLE DOLLARS THAT AND YOU CAN SEE HOW IT'S PRIORITIZED THE MOST FUNDING BECAUSE THE MOST MOST ANY PROJECT YOU DO HAS A SAFETY. SURE. OKAY. SO DIRT ROAD PAVING AND RESURFACING THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS IMPORTANT. UM, SO WE ALREADY HAVE A DIRT ROAD PAYMENT PROGRAM BUT TO CONTINUE THAT AND POUR GASOLINE ON THAT AS WELL AS A RESURFACING PROGRAM SO HUNDRED 80 MILLION TOWARDS THAT. PATHWAYS PATHWAYS ARE IMPORTANT ELEMENT LOCALLY AND WE HAVE A LOT OF GOOD PATHWAYS ALREADY BUT AGAIN WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO FUND THAT BUT FIRST WE WANT TO FINISH THE EXISTING PATHWAYS BEFORE WE TAKE ON NEW PATHWAYS RESILIENCY AND EMERGENCY EVACUATIONS. THIS WAS WAS INTERESTED IN THAT COMMITTEE CAME UP WITH THIS AND THIS IS WE HAVE A LOT PROJECTS OR A LOT OF ROADS THAT ARE LOW LYING. UM, SOME THEM THAT FLOOD JUST IN IN FAIR WEATHER ON A HIGH HIGH TIDE SO OTHERS THAT ARE CAUSEWAYS DIFFERENT TYPES OF ROADS AND THIS WOULD BE LOOKING AT THOSE ROADS OR EMERGENCY EVACUATION ROUTES THAT NEED SOME LEVEL OF IMPROVEMENT. I KNOW I'VE HEARD TOWN CREEK BEFORE. YES MORE THAN ONE. SO THAT WOULD BE WHERE SOMETHING LIKE THAT IF WE NEED TO EXPAND THAT BRIDGE TO ALLOW FOR CAPACITY BECAUSE WE'VE GOT A LONG WAY FROM THERE ALL THE WAY TO ATLANTIC OCEAN. THAT WOULD BE A WAY FOR US TO FACILITATE THOSE TYPE PROJECTS AND THIS TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGY AND ACCESS ROAD SO IF YOU'VE EVER SAT AT A SIGNAL AND THEN YOU THE GREEN LIGHT AND YOU GO AND THEN YOU HIT THE NEXT THING KNOWN AS RED THEY'RE NOT TALKING WITH THAT OR THEY'RE NOT COMMUNICATING. AND SO TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGIES THERE'S TECHNOLOGIES OUT THERE THAT HELP HELP WITH THAT FLOW. A LOT OF THESE ARE LOWER COST PROJECTS BUT THEY HAVE A PRETTY POSITIVE AMOUNT OF IMPACT HOW MUCH BENEFIT THEY CAN PROVIDE AND TECHNOLOGIES ARE CONTINUING DEVELOP. SO THE IDEA OF HAVING FIBER TO ALL OUR SIGNALS SO THEY'RE SPEAKING TO ONE ANOTHER AND AND IMPLEMENTING THE OTHER ALSO THE ACCESS ROADS LIKE BRITTANY MENTIONED AND THE ISLAND PROJECT TRYING TO GET EVERYBODY TO A FRONTAGE ROAD SYSTEM TO GET THEM TO A SIGNAL SO THEY CAN HAVE SAFE LEFT TURNS. AND THEN LASTLY THIS IS A LONG PROGRAM. I CAN'T SIT HERE TODAY AND TELL YOU WHAT ROADS ARE GOING TO BE NEEDED SPECIFICALLY IN FIVE YEARS OR TEN YEARS. SO THAT COMMITTEE COULD DISCUSS IT FURTHER AND SAID OKAY LET'S LET'S TALK ABOUT ALL DIFFERENT THINGS THAT WE HEARD AT THESE MEETINGS. ARE THERE ELEMENTS THAT THAT WE HEARD IS COMMON THEMES THAT WE SHOULD LOOK AT AND ADJUST OR MODIFY? AND THE ANSWER TO THAT WAS YES, THERE WAS DEFINITELY THINGS. SO COUNCIL HAS A PERIOD OF TIME TO MASSAGE IT AND AND THEN STILL PUT THAT TIMELINE BUT THAT'S WHERE IT IS CURRENTLY THAT IT AS I SAID TUESDAY WILL BE COMING TO THE PUBLIC FACILITIES COMMITTEE FOR A DISCUSSION AND WE'LL SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE THEREAFTER AND THAT'S IT.
