IT WOULD THEN GO THROUGH THE NORMAL PROCESS OF THE PLANNING, DEPART, UH, PLANNING DEPARTMENT REVIEW AND, AND ACTUAL WORDING THEN BROUGHT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION, THEN THE NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE, AND THEN ONTO COUNTY COUNCIL WITHOUT ANY KIND OF, UM, DIRECTION TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION OR TO THE NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE TO GIVE ANY PARTICULAR FLAVOR, ANY PARTICULAR TYPE OF, UM, UH, YOU KNOW, WE'RE NOT ASKING THEM TO CONSIDER IT POSITIVELY.

IT'S JUST A, IT'S JUST TO HAVE BROUGHT FORWARD IN ORDER TO DO THAT IN A TIMELY MANNER.

IT'S JUST, THESE LOTS ARE VERY LARGE, VERY SPACED OUT.

SO DEVELOPMENT IN THIS PATTERN, AND ONE LOT WOULDN'T NECESSARILY WOULD NOT IMPACT ANY OTHER, UH, HOUSES IN THE AREA.

I DON'T SEE THIS AS SOMETHING THAT IS REQUIRED FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL PROPERTY OWNER TO, TO HAVE, HAVE THAT KIND OF SAY, ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE ARE ALREADY LOTS OUT THERE THAT HAVE THIS TYPE OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN.

SO IF WE DON'T IMPOSE A 90 DAY, UH, TIMELY DECISION, AS YOU SUGGEST, WHAT WOULD IT NORMALLY TAKE FOR THEM TO COME TO A DECISION? WELL, IF WE, IF WE, IF WE HAD TO REQUEST A, UH, OR IF SPRING ISLAND HAD TO ASK EACH INDIVIDUAL PROPERTY OWNER SUR, IT COULD TAKE SIX MONTHS OR A YEAR THAT WAY.

AND, UH, THIS IS, THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY TO DO IT AGAIN, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THERE'S ALREADY THIS TYPE OF DEVELOPMENT OUT THERE.

DON'T YOU THINK THAT WE SHOULD STICK TO OUR NORMAL PROCESS AND PROCEDURE AND HAVE THIS DELIVERED TO A COMMITTEE AND THEN GET SOME INPUT FROM THE EXECUTIVE STAFF ON WHAT THEY, WELL, THIS IS, THIS IS SIMPLY DIRECTING STAFF TO MOVE FORWARD WITH IT.

NATURAL RESOURCES WOULD HEAR IT IN NOVEMBER, AND THEN YOU ALL WOULD START TAKING IT UP IN NOVEMBER, UH, FOR THREE READINGS.

SO HOPEFULLY IT COULD FINISH BY THE END OF DECEMBER UNDERNEATH THAT SCENARIO.

SO THIS ISN'T AN UNUSUAL REQUEST.

IT IS AN UNUSUAL REASON TO INITIATE A REZONING BECAUSE TYPICALLY REZONINGS ARE INITIATED BY POLITICAL BODIES TO, UH, CARRY OUT THE PURPOSE AND INTENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.

UH, IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE, IT'S A LITTLE UNUSUAL IN THE FACT THAT THE NEIGHBORHOOD HAS APPROACHED THE COUNTY ABOUT DOING A TEXT AMENDMENT AND A REZONING, BUT THEY DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH THE PROCESS

AND TAKE THE TIME TO TRY TO GET ALL THE PROPERTY OWNERS TO AGREE TO THE REZONING OF THEIR PROPERTY.

SO WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TYPE OF CONFUSION WILL BE CREATED IF YOU ALL DO THIS.
