DO WE HAVE ALICE? OH, WHO ELSE IS ON THERE? YES, I HAD TO DO, UM, VIRTUAL. I HAD A FLAT TIRE, BUT THANK GOODNESS FOR VIRTUAL, BUT THE TIRE STICKS AND YOU'RE SAFE. SO THAT'S A GOOD NEWS. SO CAN I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MAY 12TH TENANTS, JOE AND THE SECOND JAMES RIGHT HERE AND ALL IN FAVOR OF APPROVING MAY 12TH, RAISE YOUR HAND. IT'S EASIER. OKAY, GOOD. THOSE WERE APPROVED. SO WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE, UM, RECOMMEND WE APPROVE THOSE MINUTES? OKAY. JAN, I GAVE JANET MOVED IN. CAN I JUST SECOND? OKAY. ALL RIGHT. WE'RE GONNA BE SECOND AND ALL IN FAVOR. JUST RAISE YOUR HANDS. SAY HI TO EVERYBODY. RIGHT? GREAT. SO THOSE ARE APPROVED. UH, NO IS FUNDING MEMBERSHIP. SO WE'RE ZIPPING RIGHT OVER TO OUR LIBRARY DIRECTOR, AMANDA. WELL, UM, AS I WAS DOING THAT PREPARATION FOR THIS MEETING OCCURRED TO ME THAT WE ARE NOW [00:05:01] ONE YEAR TOGETHER, UM, AS YOUR INTERIM AND NOW AS YOUR OFFICIAL LIBRARY DIRECTOR. SO THANK YOU FOR WORKING WITH ME AND SUPPORTING ME THROUGHOUT THIS 12 MONTHS. UM, I FIRST WANT TO START WITH OUR PERSONNEL UPDATE. UM, WE CONTINUE TO, UM, WELCOME NEW EMPLOYEES AS WE CAN FILL A BAIT FILL VACANCIES WITH QUALIFIED APPLICANTS. WE CURRENTLY HAVE FOUR, 10 VACANCIES. UM, 11 OF THOSE ARE ADVERTISED. ONE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING ADVERTISED IN TWO OF OUR VACANCIES ARE BEING REVISED. SO THAT WOULD BE THE VACANCY THAT JOSH, WHERE LEFT IS MY VERY OPERATIONS MANAGER. AND THEN ALSO THE VACANCY THAT I LEFT, UH, TWO MOVES AGO ON THE BOOKMOBILE. SO WE'RE REVISING BOTH OF THOSE JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR THE BEST OF THE SYSTEM. IT IS MY PLEASURE TO CONTINUE MY TRADITION THAT I STARTED LAST MEETING BY INTRODUCING YOU TO A FEW OF OUR EMPLOYEES. UH, YOU'VE YOU'VE ALREADY KNOWN HIM. YOU'VE ALREADY MET HIM, BUT JOSH GREER, UM, THIS IS HIS FIRST MEETING AS YOUR DEPUTY DIRECTOR. UM, AND WE ARE CONTINUING TO WORK TOGETHER ON MY SIDE. BUT WHAT YOU MAY HAVE THOUGH IS THAT JOSH GREER HAS WORKED FOR THE BEAVER COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM SINCE 2017. HE CAME TO US AS A REFERENCE LIBRARIAN AND HE STARTED AT THE HILTON HEAD BRANCH LIBRARY BEFORE HE WAS SNAPPED UP BY LIBRARY ADMINISTRATION, 2019 AS THE BUDGET OPERATIONS PERSON. AND, UM, YOU CAN PRAY FOR HIM AS HE HAS NOW ASSUMED OFFICIALLY HIS DUTIES AS DEPUTY DIRECTOR, OLIVIA WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT, UM, THE FOLKS AT HOME AND ALSO THE PEOPLE IN THE ROOM CAN SEE YOU, IF YOU WANT TO STAND IN, JUST MAKE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA HERE. AS SHE'S GETTING IN POSITION, LIVING VOID BEGAN EMPLOYMENT WITH THE BUFORD BRANCH LIBRARY AS A LIBRARY ASSISTANT IN DECEMBER OF 2016. BUT SINCE THAT TIME SHE RECEIVED A PROMOTION TO SENIOR LIBRARY ASSISTANT. UM, SHE WAS RECENTLY AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP FROM THE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION OF BUFORD COUNTY TO ASSIST HER IN HER STUDIES TO PURSUE A MASTER'S IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE. SHE HAS A HEART FOR YOUTH IN MAKING SPECIFICALLY TEENS AND, UM, SHE ALSO HAS A HEART FOR THE COMMUNITY AND WE'RE HAPPY THAT SHE IS WITH US AND WE WISH HER WELL IN HER PURSUIT. AND LASTLY, TRACY COX IS OUR MARKETING AND INFORMATION SERVICES COORDINATOR. SHE, UH, SHE ALSO FIRST JOINED THE LIBRARY YEARS AGO, BACK IN 2008 AS A REFERENCE LIBRARY AT THE BLUFFTON BRANCH LIBRARY, FROM WHICH SHE WAS PROMOTED AS THE INFORMATION SERVICES COORDINATOR AFTER THE RETIREMENT IN THIS ADAMS, WHICH SOME OF YOU MAY REMEMBER. AND NOW SHE SERVES AS OUR MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, WHICH MEANS SHE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF OUR PUBLIC FACING MESSAGING, OUR SOCIAL MEDIA, OUR WEBSITE, AND MOST RECENTLY, UM, OUR ANNUAL SUMMER READING PROGRAM. THAT IS WHAT SHE'S GOING TO TALK TO YOU TODAY ABOUT. SHE'S GOING TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT OUR SUCCESS, UM, BECAUSE WE WANT TO SHARE THAT WONDERFUL STORY WITH YOU. SO TRACY, IF YOU'RE READY, YOU CAN GO AHEAD. OKAY. ONCE TRACY, UM, FINISHES REPRESENTATION, I'LL WRAP UP WITH MY REPORT. I SEE IT ON OUR END. ALL RIGHT. I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT SUMMARY. AS I MENTIONED, UM, IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE DO THIS PROGRAM. UM, I WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN THE 2019 PROGRAM, UM, AND IT'S JUST A LOT OF FUN. UM, SO I'M HAPPY TO SHARE ALL YOUR RESULTS WITH YOU. OKAY. WHEN WE STARTED THINKING ABOUT THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM BACK IN OCTOBER OF LAST YEAR OR PLANNING IT RATHER, WE IDENTIFIED SOME IMPORTANT GOALS AND THAT WAS TO ENCOURAGE READING AT ALL AGE LEVELS, COMBAT THE SUMMER SLIDE, WHICH IS, UM, THE POTENTIAL FOR LOSS OF LITERACY SKILLS WHEN CHILDREN ARE IN WALGREENS SCHOOL, MOST LIKELY IN THE SUMMER. UM, CAUSE WE CALL THAT THE SUMMER SLIDE AND WE WANTED TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF LIBRARY SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY, EXCUSE ME. SO HOW DO WE DO THAT? WELL, WE WANTED TO MAKE IT EASY FIRST AND FOREMOST, WE DIDN'T WANT ANY ROADBLOCKS [00:10:01] OR BARRIERS TO ACCESS. SO WE WANTED TO USE A PAPER GAME BOARD. UM, WE DIDN'T WANT ANY APPS. WE DIDN'T WANT, UH, PARTICIPANTS TO HAVE TO REGISTER. WE WANTED TO MAKE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE. AND THIS IS A SAMPLE OF OUR PAPER GAME BOARD. IT'S JUST A LITTLE FOLDABLE PIECE OF PAPER WITH THE GAME ON THE INSIDE AND SHE'LL GET A CLOSER LOOK AT IT IN THE PRESENTATION. AND THEN WE ALSO WANTED TO MAKE IT FUN. WE WANTED TO INCLUDE ALL AGES. WE WANTED TO INCLUDE ALL THE WAY FROM BABIES TO SENIOR CITIZENS. SO THERE WERE NO AGE RESTRICTIONS ON OUR SUMMER RICAN GAME. AND WE ALSO DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD HURT TO OFFER PRIZES AS INCENTIVES TO GIVE YOU A QUICK VIDEO THAT WE PUT TOGETHER AT THE LAUNCH OF THIS PROGRAM. SO YOU WERE KIND OF EXPLAINED TO YOUR COMMUNITY. WE WERE OFFERING, GIVE ME A FEW SECONDS TO START THIS. I'M GOING TO TRY AND TRICK IT INTO GOING BACK UP ON THE SCREEN. BETTER IN MY HEAD. I CAN SEE IT. WE JUST CAN'T SEE IT. YES YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HIT PLAY NOW. STUPID DEEP. DO YOU HAVE THE VIDEO, BUT JUST TRY RESTARTING THE VIDEO, AMANDA. SHE THINKS SHE'S FROZEN. IT LOOKS LIKE SHE'S FROZEN. SHE'S NOT FROZEN SO IF YOU'LL JUST PLUG THAT INTO THE BACK OF YOUR COMPUTER, THAT WAY EVERYONE AS WELL IN HERE AND AT HOME CAN SEE IT. [00:15:52] SORRY ABOUT THAT. UM, OKAY. SO THE BASICS ABOUT THE PROGRAM, UM, IT'S A 20 DAY READING PROGRAM WITH A COUPLE OF WIGGLE ROOM DAYS BUILT IN. SO IT ENCOMPASSED, UH, MID JUNE THROUGH JULY 31ST. UM, IN ORDER TO PLAY THE GAME, UH, PARTICIPANTS WOULD PROGRESS FORWARD, UH, BY READING EVERY DAY FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES. AND IF THEY CHOSE TO, THEY COULD ENGAGE IN ONE OF THE FUN READING ACTIVITIES THAT WE PROVIDED HALFWAY THROUGH THE GAME. WE HAD A CHECKPOINT IF THEY BROUGHT THEIR GAME BOARD IN AND THEY MADE IT HALFWAY THROUGH, THEY WOULD GET A STICKER AND THEY WOULD GET A PRIZE. UM, UM, ONE OF THE PRIZES THAT WE OFFERED, UM, IS CALLED A TREE PART AND WE HAD 10 LOCAL BUSINESSES OFFER TO GET A FREE TREAT TO WHOEVER BROUGHT IN THIS CARD IS A WONDERFUL SUPPORT THAT WE RECEIVED. UM, AND THERE WERE SWEET TREAT PLACES ACROSS THE COUNTY. SO WE'RE VERY GRATEFUL FOR THAT. AND THEN IF THEY COMPLETED THE GAME, THEN THEY RECEIVED, UH, CHILDREN RECEIVED A BOOK. WE HAVE BOOKS FOR BABIES, TODDLERS AND POLICE CHILDREN. THEY ALSO RECEIVED A SMALL BRANDED PRIZE, LIKE A KEY CHAIN OR A BOOK LATE. AND, UM, THE YOUNGEST ONES RECEIVED A SMALL READING CERTIFICATE WITH THEIR NAME ON IT. AND THEY ALSO GOT A READING LEVEL THAT THEY COULD WEAR. SO ONE OF THE WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM IS OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH A BEAVER COUNCIL DISTRICT. UM, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT SHARES OUR GAMEBOARD. SO WE GET TO DESIGN A THEME BOARD AND THEY PRINT ENOUGH COPIES TO GIVE A GAME BOARD TO EVERY SINGLE STUDENT AND STAFF MEMBER THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. SO BEFORE SCHOOL LED ON AT THE END OF THE YEAR, THEY PROVIDED THE GAME BOARD, THIS PINPRICK GAMEBOARD TO EVERY SINGLE STUDENT. UM, ALSO TO THE RIGHT HERE IS A LITTLE STICKER THAT WE PROVIDED TO ALL THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. SO EVERY CLASSROOM WAS ABLE TO STICKER THE YOUNG CHILDREN WITH A SUMMER READING IS COMING, UH, BEGINS JUNE 19TH. SO THEY ALL WENT HOME WEARING YOUR STICKERS. AND WE HOPE THAT THAT CREATED AWARENESS ABOUT THE PROGRAM. UH, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ALSO CREATED JOINT FACEBOOK PROMOTION. SO, UM, OVER ON THE LEFT, THERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF THEIR SOCIAL POSTS AND IT WAS, THEY FOLLOWED ALONG WITH OUR READING ACTIVITY. SO THEY CREATED CONTENT IN SUPPORT OF ALL OF OUR DAILY READING ACTIVITIES. UM, AND WE ALSO PROVIDE A LIST TO THE SCHOOLS OF ALL THE STUDENTS WHO FINISHED THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM. SO THEY KNOW WHO PARTICIPATED. HERE'S ANOTHER VIDEO, WE'LL GO AHEAD AND TRY IT. BUT AMANDA AND OUR MARKETING ASSISTANT THOMAS SHATTER, WHO CAN'T BE HERE TODAY, BUT HE WAS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM. UM, WE WERE INVITED TO A PREFERRED ELEMENTARY TO PRESENT THE SUMMER READING PROGRAMS. WE THIRD GRADE CLASS. SO THIS IS A LITTLE CLIP PUT TOGETHER BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. WE'VE GOT A SUMMER READING. THE BUFORD COUNTY LIBRARY IS PLEASED TO AGAIN, PARTNER WITH THE BEAVER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT IN PRESENTING OUR 2021 SUMMER READING PROGRAM. WE'RE BACK IN BETTER THAN EVER WITH PRIZES TO ENCOURAGE OUR READERS OF ALL AGES, TO READ ALL SUMMER LONG. IF YOU READ 20 MINUTES A DAY AND YOU PLAY YOUR GAME, PIEPER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT IS THRILLED TO BE PARTNERING WITH COUNTY LIBRARY AGAIN, TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL STUDENTS, THIS SUMMER BOARDS TO ALL OF THE TEACHERS TOO. SO THIS IS THE INSIGHT OF THE GAME BOARD. AND YOU CAN SEE IT'S JUST TEACHERS. THEY'RE GOING TO GET A GAME BOARD BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR SO THEY CAN PARTICIPATE ALL SUMMER LONG. ALL YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE IS ONE OF OUR TAILS TAILS ON BOARDS THAT ALL STUDENTS WILL GET BEFORE THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. YOU ALSO JUST HAVE TO READ FOR 20 MINUTES A DAY. YOU CAN READ WHATEVER YOU WANT, BUT WHILE YOU'RE READING, YOU CAN DO SOME FUN ACTIVITIES SUCH AS EATING YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTERS. THERE ARE SO MANY ACTIVITIES TO DO. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS READ FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES A DAY AND JUST COME TO THE LIBRARY TO PICK UP YOUR PRICES PROGRAM. WE HAVE OVER A HUNDRED GRAND PRIZES UP FOR GRABS AND CREDIT TO DOLPHIN NATURE TOUR, [00:20:01] WHICH MANY, MANY MORE ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS READ ALL THESE GREAT PRIZES. THE PARENTS LOOK BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND THEY MAKE SURE THAT YOU HELP READ WITH YOUR KIDS, STOP BY YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY TODAY AND GET STARTED WITH SUMMER MEETING. OKAY. THAT WAS A FUN ADVENTURE TO THIS FULL. UM, SO WE KICKED OFF THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM IN THE SPRING TIME WITH A BOOKMARK CONTEST. SO WHAT WE DID IS CREATED A TEMPLATE YOU CAN SEE ON THE SCREEN THERE, AND EVERY PARTICIPANT THERE WERE CATEGORIES FOR EACH AGE GROUP. WE HAD TINY TAILS FOR THE SMALLEST CHILDREN, JUNIOR TALES FOR AGES NINE TO 12 TEEN TALES AGES 13 TO 17, AND THEN TALL TALES FOR THE ADULTS AND SHOWN HERE ON THE SCREEN ARE THE FOUR WINNERS FROM EACH OF THE CATEGORIES. WE HAD 10,000 BOOKMARKS PRINTED AND DISTRIBUTED ACROSS ALL OF OUR SOUTHERN LOCATIONS. WOW. AND WE HAD OVER A THOUSAND PARTICIPANTS. SO YOU CAN IMAGINE THE STACK OF ENTRIES AND THEY WERE ALSO, UM, ANOTHER PART OF OUR SUMMER READING PROGRAM THIS YEAR WAS CALLED SUMMER FEEDING. UH, THANKS TO A FUNDING FROM THE USDA. WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE FREE LUNCHES TO CHILDREN'S AND TEENS ACROSS OUR LIBRARY SYSTEM. UM, OVER 4,450 LUNCHES WERE DISTRIBUTED AT THE BRANCHES. UM, WE CAN SEE, UH, PHOTOS THERE, SOME OF THE HAPPIEST, AND SURE, I THINK THIS YEAR WAS THE BOOK DROP BLITZ. SO THE BEAVER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT APPLIED FOR AND WAS REWARDED A COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP GRANT. AND WE ALL PARTNERED TOGETHER, INCLUDING THE PAT CONROY LITERARY CENTER AND THE UNITED WAY TO DELIVER FREE BOOKS. OH, INTERESTING. SORRY ABOUT THAT. THE DELIVER FREE BOOKS ACROSS THE COUNTY, THERE WERE 19 LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTY WHERE, UM, ANYONE, ANY RESIDENT COULD COME AND PICK UP A FREE BOOK. SO A LOT OF THE FREE BOOK CUTS WERE, UH, FREE FREE BOOK. PUTTS WERE PRELOADED WITH SOME OF THESE BOOKS EACH WEEK FEATURED A DIFFERENT BOOK. SO SOMETIMES THE BOOKS WERE GEARED TOWARDS CHILDREN. SOMETIMES THE BOOKS WERE GEARED TOWARDS TEENS AND AS YOU SEE PAT CONROY, THE GREAT SANTINI. SOMETIMES WE ALSO WERE ABLE TO OFFER SIX VIRTUAL PROGRAMS, UM, ACROSS OUR LIBRARY SYSTEM. UM, THANKS TO A LIBRARY SERVICES, TECHNOLOGY ACT PREMIUMS. WE WERE ABLE TO BOOK THE RIVERBANKS DO AND GARDEN AND THE SOUTH CAROLINA AQUARIUM, BUT TO EACH OFFER THREE VIRTUAL PROGRAMS, UM, THEY WERE REALLY GREAT PROGRAMS. WE HAD, UM, A BUNCH OF BEAVER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, SUMMER SESSION CLASSES TUNED IN. SO WE COULD HAVE A NUMBER OF SCREENS VIEWING ALL AT THE SAME TIME. AND, UM, KIDS WERE ABLE TO GET A CLOSE-UP AS YOU SEE, I THINK HIS NAME WAS NERO. UM, THIS WAS A JUVENILE ALLIGATOR, BUT WE ALSO GOT TO SEE BOX TURTLES, SEA TURTLES, LIZARDS SNAKES, ALL KINDS OF COOL EGGS. DO ANY OF THIS WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF OUR FRIENDS GROUPS AND OUR PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION, THESE GROUPS HELPED PROVIDE HORIZONS, UM, UH, BOOKS, ALL KINDS OF THINGS TO ENSURE THE SUCCESS OF THIS LIBRARY PROGRAM. SO WE ARE, WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL. ALSO WE HAD OVER 112 LOCAL BUSINESSES PROVIDE PRIZES AS PART OF OUR GRAND PRIZE STRUCTURE. UM, SOMETIMES IT WAS MEDIA OR AD SPACE, BUT A LOT OF TIMES IT WAS GIFT CERTIFICATES TO LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND ACTIVITY, UH, FACILITIES. UM, IT WAS JUST REALLY, WE WERE HUMBLED BY THE RESPONSE THAT WE RECEIVED, PRETTY WONDERFUL. UM, OUR BLUFFTON LIBRARY, STAFF MEMBER, ANGIE BROWN, SHE REACHED OUT TO THE PALMETTO ANIMAL LEAD TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BE INTERESTED IN OFFERING A PROGRAM WHERE CHILDREN COULD COME AND READ TO THE ADOPTABLE CATS AND KIDNEYS. AND THEY HAD A GREAT RESPONSE. THEY HAD FAMILIES VISITING EACH WEEK AND YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE PHOTOS HERE OF KIDS INCREASING THEIR LITERACY LITERACY SKILLS BY READING TO ANIMALS. I ACTUALLY GOT TO GO THERE AND WITNESS IT, AND IT WAS VARIOUS KITTENS CLIMB ALL OVER THEM. AND HERE IS JUST A SNAPSHOT OF OUR JUNE AND JULY STATISTICS FROM THE PAST THREE YEARS, YOU CAN SEE IN 2019, THAT WAS A BANNER YEAR, UH, THAT WAS PRE COVID 2020. WE COULDN'T REALLY DO THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM LIKE WE NORMALLY DO. UM, BUT ONE THING TO KNOW IS THE DOOR COUNT AND CIRCULATION FOR THE 2021, UH, YEAR, UM, THAT SHOWS, ALTHOUGH THE DOOR COUNT IS DOWN, OUR CIRCULATION FIGURE IS PRETTY HIGH. SO THAT SHOWS US THAT, UH, CUSTOMERS ARE CHECKING OUT A LOT OF MATERIALS. SO WE'RE GETTING BACK UP TO WHERE WE WERE PRE COVID. AND THEN ULTIMATELY JUST OVER 2000 [00:25:01] RESIDENTS COMPLETED THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM AND YOU CAN SEE A LOT OF THEIR SMILING FACES. THEY'RE HOLDING THEIR PRIZES AND THEY'RE WEARING THEIR METAL AND THE AGE BREAKDOWN, UM, WE HAD THE HIGHEST GROUP WAS AGES SIX TO 11 TO NO SURPRISE, BUT WE ALSO HAD A LOT OF ADULTS PARTICIPATE. AND THEN WE HAD OVER 182 GRAND PRIZE WINNERS. AND THE TIME OF RECEIVING THOSE ARE NINTENDO'S PUSH TWITTER. AND THEN WE SENT OUT A SURVEY, UH, TO THE PUBLIC, ASKING WHAT THEY THOUGHT ABOUT THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM. AND THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE COMMENTS THEY MADE. MY ENTIRE FAMILY ENJOYED SUMMER READING. WE ARE VERY APPRECIATIVE, EVERYTHING WAS ABOVE AND BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS. WE LOVE THE PROGRAM AND CAN'T WAIT TO PARTICIPATE AGAIN. AND THANK YOU LIBRARY STAFF FOR ALL YOUR EXTRA EFFORTS. YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG, ENCOURAGING READERS, AND PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR EFFORTS TO INCREASE LITERACY AND LOVE OF READING. AND THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHY WE KEEP WHAT WE DO IN TIME. START PLANNING SUMMER 2022. AND YOU CAN SEE THE ARTWORK, WHICH IS PERFECT FOR OUR AREA HERE, OCEANS THE POSSIBILITY. SO MORE TO COME ON THAT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THAT'S VERY ENJOYABLE. YEAH. I JUST WANTED TO SAY, I WANT TO THANK TRACY AND EVERYBODY THAT PARTICIPATED THIS IT'S GREAT. I'M SORRY. I DID NOT, BUT I THINK I GOT THE BOOKMARK FOR LIKE LITTLE PEOPLE YOU DID SO SENIOR, IF YOU WANT THE WHOLE SET, I'M SURE THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL MANY CHILDREN AND ADULTS. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, TRACY. I JUST WANT TO SAY THIS WAS THE COOLEST PRESENTATION I THINK WE'VE HAD WHILE I'VE BEEN ON THE BOARD. YES. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? MS. PORTER? CAN YOU SAY AGAIN? CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? OKAY, GOOD. SO TRACY, I, WHAT I WANTED TO SAY IS I THINK THIS IS THE COOLEST PRESENTATION WE'VE HAD SINCE I FOUND THE BOARD AND IT'S PRESENTATIONS LIKE THIS THAT MAKE US ALL PROUD TO BE ON THE BOARD. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH. THIS WAS OUTSTANDING. YEAH. ANOTHER BOARD MEMBER, WHEN I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, OTHERWISE, I'M TURNING IT OVER TO, OKAY. WE ACTUALLY HAVE A FEW MORE IMPORTANT THINGS THAT I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW ONLINE LEARNING IS, ARE PARTICIPATING AS HOSTS. TWO REPRESENTATIVES FROM SOUTH CAROLINA STATE PLUS SOUTH CAROLINA STATE PLUS IS A PROGRAM THAT CONNECTS PEOPLE TO RENT AND UTILITY ASSISTANCE OR REESE'S DUE TO COVID-19. AND WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF HOSTING A REPRESENTATIVES AVAILABLE TO OFFER IN-PERSON ASSISTANCE, WHETHER IT BE UPLOADING DOCUMENTS FOR WHETHER IT'S CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH AN EMAIL OR JUST GETTING THEM INFORMATION ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE ELIGIBLE. WE'VE HAD TWO REPRESENTATIVES IS AUGUST 16TH. AND TODAY WE HAVE SEEN OVER 300 PEOPLE AFTER THE COME THAT THIS BRANCH LIBRARY VIEW RANCH LIBRARY FOR ASSISTANCE. UM, THE RESPONSE HAS BEEN, UH, SUCH TO THE FACT THAT THE REPRESENTATIVES ARE GOING TO STAY IN BUFORD COUNTY THROUGH THE END OF SEPTEMBER NEXT WEEK, THEY WILL BE AT THE REBEKAH LIBRARY AND THE FOLLOWING WEEK, THEY WILL BE AT THE BLOCK THAT BREAKS BY THREE, BEFORE RETURNING BACK TO YOU FOR, FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE MONTH, WE HAVE ALL OF THE INFORMATION POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE AND ALSO AVAILABLE IN HOUSE THAT BY THE WAY OF PRINTED FLYERS, BUT PLEASE HELP US GET THE WORD OUT SO THAT THOSE WHO NEED ASSISTANCE, UM, SUBMITTING THEIR DOCUMENTATION CAN GET THE ONE-ON-ONE ASSISTANCE. UM, WHILE WE HAVE THEM HERE, ADDITIONALLY, TO ASSIST THE LOCAL VACCINATION, I THINK ELLA LIBRARY WILL BE THE SITE FOR A COVID-19 VACCINE CLINIC ON SATURDAYS THAT CAME ON THE 18TH. SO HELP US GET THE WORD OUT FOR THAT. NO APPOINTMENTS ARE NEEDED. A WALK INS ARE FINE, AND IT WILL BE FROM THE HOURS OF 10 TO, TO HELP US MAKE SURE THAT THOSE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A VACCINE CAN [00:30:01] GET IT AND MAKING AVAILABLE TO PFIZER IN ADVANCE. THE J AND J. AND WE'RE ALSO A SUPER FIRST IS TODAY. AND SO WE'RE EMBARKING ON LIBRARY CARD SIGNUP. THAT'S A NATIONAL PROMOTIONAL, UH, THING THAT LIBRARIES PARTICIPATE IN. AND SO WE ARE ENCOURAGING EVERYONE TO GET A LIBRARY CARD AND, YOU KNOW, THAT OFFERS PEOPLE A WEALTH OF RESOURCES AT THEIR FINGERTIPS. AND SO WE ENCOURAGE ANYONE THAT NEEDS ONE TO GET ONE THEY'RE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY FREE IS THE BEST PART IN TOWN. AND FINALLY, AND PROBABLY WHAT'S MOST PRESSING ON YOUR MIND. UH, I WANTED TO UPDATE YOU ON WHERE WE ARE IN TERMS OF PANDEMIC OPERATIONS. PRESENTLY TODAY, LIBRARY ADMINISTRATION CONTINUES TO MONITOR THE CASES AND MAKING SURE THAT ALL OF OUR BRANCH LIBRARIES, ALL OF OUR STAFF, ALL OF OUR VISITORS AT YEAR TWO SAFETY PROTOCOLS THAT ANNOTATE, UH, HAND SANITIZERS AVAILABLE AT SERVICE POINTS THAT WE OFFER MASKS IF ANYBODY WOULD LIKE TO BORROW OR TO USE ONE. UM, AND WE ALSO HAVE THAT IT'S CLEANING UP FROM OUR PROTOCOLS THAT WERE PUT IN PLACE, UH, AT THE BEGINNING OF OUR MEETING ROOMS ARE OPEN OR REDUCED CAPACITY. UM, AND WE HAVE HAD TODAY IN THE THREE OPENING THOSE IN JUNE, WE'VE HAD 58, UM, USES OF OUR MEETING. AND SO WE KNOW THAT WE'RE FILLING A NEED THERE. UM, WE CONTINUE TO OPERATE AS SAFELY WITHIN PHASE THREE AS POSSIBLE. UM, BUT I ALSO KEEP AN EYE FOR THE GUIDANCE FROM THE COUNTY SHIP. THEY RECOMMEND ANY CHANGES TO OUR OPERATIONS AS THEY ARE. AND I WILL CERTAINLY KEEP YOU APPRISED AS OUR BOARD. UM, IF THERE'S ANY CHANGES THAT WE ARE ASKING YOU TO MAKE IN TERMS OF OPERATIONS, THAT IS THE END OF THE REPORT. AND I'LL IT UP TO, IF THERE'S ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE FROM ME, EITHER AMANDA, COULD YOU PLEASE, UM, YOU KNOW, NO RUSH, BUT AT YOUR CONVENIENCE, SEND US AN UPDATED ORGANIZATION CHART. UM, I THINK IT'S EXCITING THAT YOU'RE BUILDING YOUR TEAM, BUT I'D LIKE TO STILL HAVE A PICTURE THAT SHOWS ME KIND OF WHO'S WHO ABSOLUTELY. I PLAN TO INCLUDE THAT IN MY MONTHLY REPORT TO BE RELEASED THIS WEEK. GREAT. ANYBODY ELSE? I'M SORRY. I'VE BEEN BLESSED TO INTRODUCE ALEC FROM THE, UM, COUNTY CHANNEL. HE'S THE ONE DOING ALL THE MAGIC FOR US. SO THANK YOU FOR HELPING US OUT. OKAY. FINANCIAL REPORTS. I'M JUST GOING TO GO TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE. THE FINANCE COMMITTEE IS CHAIRED BY JOE ROGAN. I'M ON IT WITH MILLER TERRY, THOMAS, JAMES, JOE. THANK YOU. AND, UH, UM, FIRST TO BEGIN BY SAYING THAT WHEN ACTUAL REPORTS LOOKING AT REALLY SEVERE, SO IT JUST GIVES YOU A GLIMPSE OF WHERE WE ARE. UH, BUT IN SHORT, WE ARE UNDER , BUT I'D LIKE TO ADD IS THAT PRESENTING THE FINANCIAL REPORT HERE, BUT DO PUT THIS IN SOME SORT OF A CONTEXT AND LANGUAGE THAT EVERYONE CAN UNDERSTAND. WE PAY FOR NUMBERS THAT ARE STRANGE AND THEN TRY TO REINTERPRET THEM, PUT THEM INTO, INTO A FORMAT THAT EVERYONE CAN RELATE TO AND BETTER, BETTER UNDERSTAND. UM, IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT SHE'S SPENDING AS WELL AS AMANDA POINTED OUT VACANCIES AS REFLECTED IN OUR UNDERSTANDING OF PERSONNEL EVENTS, 10 LIBRARY OPERATIONS ARE STILL NOT WHERE THEY WERE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. WE'RE SUPPOSED TO SUDDENLY, UH, PROGRAMS ARE, ARE LIMITED, MEANING ABUSE, LIKE WERE USED. ONE WITH THAT LIBRARY MADE IT PRETTY WELL. AND THAT'S SORT OF WHERE WE ARE, WHERE I'D LIKE TO BEGIN IS WHAT WE NORMALLY BEGIN. AND THAT IS WITH OUR SPECIAL FUND STATEMENT. THAT'S IN YOUR PACKET, WE'LL BEGIN AT THE LEFT-HAND SIDE AND THINK, LOOK AT WHERE WE ARE COMING TO THE STATE NAME AND LOTTERY. UM, FIRST OFF WE HAVE RECEIVED OUR FIRST QUARTERLY INSTALLMENTS, ABOUT $109,000. UH, OUR FUNDS GOING TO BE MARKET SPENDING. UM, THIS NUMBER HERE IS ABOUT 28,000 MORE THAN WE RECEIVED [00:35:01] LAST YEAR. SO THAT'S A NICE, HEALTHY INCREASE HERE. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT IN TERMS OF INCOME FOR, FOR THE ENTIRE FISCAL YEAR IS THAT WHO RECEIVED THREE MORE INSTALLMENTS OF THIS, OF THIS NUMBER, AND THEN AN IMPORTANT STONES WILL BE LOWER BY 35,000. SO FOR THE YEAR WE'RE LOOKING AT 80 AND ABOUT $360,000. THIS IS FROM THIS POINT HERE, THAT'S ABOUT 40,000 MORE THAN WHAT WE RECEIVED LAST YEAR. SO THIS IS A HEALTHY INCREASE FOR THAT. WE THINK OUR STATE LIFTS AND THEN MOVING OVER ONE OTHER SIDE, AND THAT IS THE IMPACT PHASE. AND THEN LOOKING AT THE BOTTOM OF HER TO SEE IF THEY ARE AT A VERY HEALTHY $5.3 BILLION, THAT'S ROUNDED, WHICH IS A GAIN OF ABOUT 67,000 FROM ONE WHO REPORTED BACK IN BACK IN JULY, WE'VE HAD RECEIPTS. I WOULD NOT SEND THEM A THOUSAND OF THEM AND PACK FOR YOU TO RECEIVE THAT. AND THEN FOLLOWED BY THAT WE HAD A SIMPLE $1,100 EXPENDITURE FROM THE BLUFFTON FUND FOR RENOVATION ACTIVITY OVER AT THAT FACILITY. BUT NOW LOOKING AT THIS ON THE HORIZON, WE HAVE SUBSTANTIAL EXPENDITURES COMING BACK TO US FOR A MUFFIN FURNITURE AND ALSO POSSIBLE NEW RIVERSIDE LAND EXPENDITURE. SO THESE NUMBERS ARE STILL OUT THERE AND ROBIN THAN WE'RE LOOKING AT ABOUT A MILLION AND A HALF COMING OUT OF THESE AREAS. UM, WHAT I DID IN PUTTING THIS TOGETHER IS THAT I TOOK A QUICK LOOK BACK TO WHAT WE HAD TALKED ABOUT BACK IN MAY WE GET A LOOK AHEAD ON OUR IMPACT FEE AND WE'RE REALLY ON TARGET HERE. UH, WE HAVE 5.3 MILLION. WE'VE HAD LANDLINES DIMINISHED IMPACT FEWER STATES THE LAST YEAR, WHICH AGAIN IS LIKE THE FOUR YEAR NUMBER. AND WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHERE WE ARE, WHAT WE HAVE COMING TOWARDS US IN FRONT OF THE EXPENDITURES, WE'RE ENDING UP IN ABOUT 3.7, 3.8. MY IS PRETTY MUCH ONLINE. WE BOUGHT, WE BOUGHT ABOUT IT BACK IN MAY. SO WE FEEL PRETTY COMFORTABLE HERE. WE HAVE A GOODLY AMOUNT IN OUR IMPACT FUND WHERE ANTICIPATING EXPENDITURES, AND I STILL WANT TO LEAVE US WITH THE HEALTHY BALANCE GOING FORWARD. AND THEN LAST COLUMN ON THAT PAGE IS BRINGING OUR SPECIAL GUEST WHO'S VERY LEVEL ACTIVITY IN THIS AREA HERE, WE HAD ABOUT $410 NET INTEREST FEE TO US. UM, AND WE HAD AN EXPENDITURE OF $4,600 FOR THE BUFORD DISTRICT COLLECTION FUNDS. AND THIS IS FOR OUR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION TO ANCESTRY, WHICH IS A GENEALOGICAL. THERE'S MORE WHEN WE GET INTO OUR MATERIAL, BUT THAT REALLY WRAPS US UP HERE FOR OUR SPECIAL FUNDS. WHAT I'D LIKE TO TURN TO NEXT IS OUR REPORT. AND THERE ARE A BUNCH OF EXPENDITURES AND JUST QUICKLY, WE ARE 15%, TWO MONTHS TO BE HERE AND WE ARE UNIFORMLY 10% EXPENDED. SO WISE WE'RE SIGNIFICANTLY UNDERSPENDING. AND WE'RE UNDERSPENT EQUALLY. WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT PERSONNEL AND OPERATING EXPENSES, 10% ON AGE, UM, PERSONNEL, WHAT CAN I SAY AS AMANDA POINTED OUT, YOU KNOW, WE'D HAVE VACANCIES OR HAVE PERSPECTIVE. AND THAT'S, THAT'S REALLY THE BIG THING HERE. AND ON THE MATERIAL SIDE IS PRINTING IN A FARM. THERE THERE'S NOTHING IN TERMS OF OPERATING EXPENSES AT THIS POINT. SO FAR, WE'RE HEARING OF SEE AT THE BOTTOM HERE, WE'RE ABOUT 223,000 SPENT. OKAY. BUT AGAIN, YOU'RE AGGRESSIVE. I EXPECT THAT THERE WILL BE AN UPTICK HERE. HOPEFULLY PATIENTS WILL RETURN MORE TO NORMAL AND THEN WHERE WE ARE, AND WE'LL SEE MORE EXPENDITURE RIGHT NOW. MY FAVORITE OF THE THREE REPORTS FOR THE COUNTY. SO ARE THROUGH THE YEAR, THIS IS AGAIN, ONLY TWO MONTHS. YOU KNOW, WE HAVE THE EXPENDITURES OF 88,026 COMING FROM STATE AID, YOU KNOW, 4,600. AND THIS IS AGAIN COMING FROM THIS WITH COLLECTION. AND THIS IS FOR, UH, THE ANCESTOR SUBSCRIPTION. AND THEN FROM [00:40:01] THE FRIENDS, WE HAVE 56,000. AGAIN, THIS LOOKS PRETTY MUCH ON A NORMAL HERE, UH, SO MUCH IN A YEAR. WE HAVE A NICE BALANCE RESCUE MEN AND OUR THREE GIRLS ACCOUNT. UM, AND THERE'S NOTHING EXTRAORDINARY ABOUT JUST WAITING FOR THE BOATS AND MANAGERIAL EXPENDITURES TO COME BACK. WHAT IS NO MORE THAN THE HERE IS THAT UPDATE TEXTILES ALMOST HAVE TO TELL THEM A THOUSAND IS FOR LEASED MATERIALS. AND THEN AMAZEMENT HEROES ARE REALLY THE BEST SELLERS, MOSTLY FICTION. AND TO MY EYE, THIS IS WHAT DRAWS THEM THE PUBLIC. THIS IS WHAT BRACES THE DOOR NOW AND ACTIVITY AGAIN IN OUR LIBRARY AND THAT'S MONEY WELL SPENT. THAT WAS ALL, I CAN TALK A BIT ABOUT THAT $20,000 FOOT BLOCK. NOW WE INTRODUCED TO MY HAIR, UH, FIVE, SIX YEARS AGO. UM, AND IT'S BEEN SORT OF A, I THINK THIS HAS BEEN A VERY ACTIVE, UH, ACTIVE AREA. THIS IS ALL, THIS IS ALL. AND I THINK IT REFLECTS THE WAY THAT LIBRARIES ARE GOING TO BE GOING. SO WE'RE GETTING REALLY OUR FOOT IN THE DOOR IN TERMS OF, OF DIGITAL VIRTUAL MATERIALS WAY. WE HAVE MAGAZINES OUT THERE. WE HAVE BOOKS OUT THERE, WE HAVE VIDEO AND WE HAVE AUDIO. SO IT'S REALLY SORT OF A LIBRARY ON YOUR LAPTOP, SO TO SPEAK. AND THAT'S SIGNIFICANT. ONE THING I'D LIKE TO TALK ABOUT IN TERMS OF MATERIAL, THIS IS THAT WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHERE WE ARE, WHAT WE ARE AND WHERE WE'RE GOING FOR THE YEAR, UM, AS I SAID, EARLY ON, WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT STATE AID, AND THIS IS MONEY THAT IS TOTALLY DEVOTED TO MATERIALS, WE'RE LOOKING AT A YEAR POST. THIS FALL WAS THE YEAR, ABOUT 365. WE ADD TO THAT ANOTHER 266,000 THAT'S IN OUR MATERIALS LINE BUDGET BECAUSE WE'RE NOT SPENDING MONEY FOR MATERIALS. A LOT OF IMPACT. ALL OF OUR MATERIALS ARE SPENDING IS REALLY IN THE OPERATIONAL SIDE OF THE BUDGET. AND THEN WE HAD ANOTHER 56,000 ON TOP OF THAT, WHICH WE'VE GOTTEN FROM FRANCE. SO WE'RE LOOKING AT THAT WHOLE YEAR OF ABOUT 285,000 OF THAT IS BARELY HELPED THEM. UH, IF WE GET CLOSE TO THAT, THAT WILL BE REALLY A BANNER YEAR, A RECORD YEAR FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN IN MY TENURE ON THE LIBRARY. UM, AND, AND TO ME, THE MATERIALS SPENDING IS REALLY WITH LOVE THE PATRON THIN. WHEN I WALK INTO THE HEADLINE, RIGHT, MY STATE, A FULL RACK OF BOOKS ON THE FICTION SIDE, NO RELEASES, AND REALLY ABOUT TWO RATS ON THE NONFICTION SIDE. I KNOW THAT WE'RE DOING THINGS RIGHT IN TERMS OF OUR CUSTODIAL OVERVIEW HERE. AND I REALLY ENCOURAGE, DEPENDING ON THE MATERIAL SIDE, WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE LIBRARY, I SEE LOTS OF PEOPLE AS A NEW RELEASE OF, I DON'T SEE MANY PEOPLE LOOKING AT THAT, BUT I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT DO THIS. AND THEN DURING THE PANDEMIC, I WAS ASTONISHED AT THE NUMBER OF ANCESTRY USERS THAT AMANDA PUT OUT BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE AT OUR HOMES. PEOPLE COULDN'T GO TO THE PHYSICAL LIBRARY HERE, BUT THERE WERE GOING, SHE KNEW LOGICAL FAMILY RESEARCH MONEY WELL SPENT. AND THAT, TO ME, I'M WRAPPING UP HERE WITH THE FINANCIAL REPORT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS, UM, IMPACT FEES ARE ELECTED WHEN CONSTRUCTION STARTS MY UNDERSTANDING. YES. SO IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING FROM MY PERSONAL COMMUNITY AND FROM SOME OF THE OTHERS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BOUGHT INTO THESE PLACES, BUT THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO KEEP IT BECAUSE OF RESTRICTIONS OF MATERIALS AND THEY WAITING TO BUILD THE COST, THE HOLDING COSTS. SO WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT THE NEXT YEAR OR TWO, YOU SHOULD HAVE A HUGE INPUT IN IMPACT BABIES ONCE YOU SPEAK. AND I, UH, THE, THE, THE TIGHTNESS OF MATERIALS, UH, SHORTAGE OF LABOR ALSO IS PERHAPS FLYING DOWN MUCH OF THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY AND FOOD VERBALS WITHOUT INNOVATION. YEAH. THAT'S SOMETHING JOE, AMANDA AND I TALKED ABOUT BEFORE THIS MEETING, COUPLA HAS BECOME VERY POPULAR. AS JOE SAID, WE STARTED [00:45:01] IN 2013. I SAW SOME LITTLE BLURB IN USA TODAY AND I BROUGHT IT TO THE BOARD AND RAISED SAID, OKAY, WE'LL LOOK INTO THAT. WELL, TODAY WE'VE SPENT $854,380 A SIGNUP. AND, UM, AMANDA'S STATISTICS SHOW. WE SERVE 14,705 PATIENT, UH, PATRONS PATRONS WITH 413, 433 SEARCH ELATIONS, WHICH IS ABOUT 34 CIRCULATIONS PER CUSTOMER, WHICH COMES OUT TO ABOUT AN AVERAGE OF $2 PER CIRCULATION. I MEAN, THIS IS MONEY WELL SPENT AND PEOPLE ALL ACROSS OUR COUNTY CAN ACCESS FOOD BLOG. AND IT'S JUST BEEN A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL THING TO HAVE IN OUR LIFE. IT'S TAKEN US TO THE NEXT LEVEL. ONE LAST THING, WHICH I LIKE TO BRING UP AND FINANCE SIDE IS THAT, ARE WE HERE? WE HAVE TO EXECUTE SIGNED OFF WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO ADD, OR JOE YOU'RE BREAKING UP. SO IT'S HARD TO HEAR WHAT YOU JUST SAID EVERY YEAR. WE HAVE TO EXECUTE THE STATE DATA, WHICH HAS TO BE SIGNED BY, UM, ALLOWS US TO RECEIVE OUR STATE LOTTERY FUNDS DID NOT HAVE THAT. SO I'M ASKING FOR APPROVAL FOR THIS DOCUMENT EMOTION DIDN'T GET RID OF LAST WEEK LIBRARY, UM, UH, THE MEMBERSHIP BOARD POSITIONS, UM, THEY ARE IN PROCESS RIGHT NOW OF PLANNING FOR THE , WHICH AT THIS MOMENT IS THEY'LL PLAN TO, UH, IN PERSON AT A VERY SUCCESSFUL . UM, ALSO LOOKING TOWARDS GUY TALKING ABOUT PAYING FOR THAT NORMALLY HAPPENS WITH PLANNING TO DO ALSO, UM, TONIGHT NEXT MEETING, JAMES, WOULD YOU TELL US THE DATES AGAIN, NUMBER 57 AND REALLY ENCOURAGE EVERYBODY TO DO. IT'S KIND OF A FUN TIME AND YOU CAN BUY SOME BOOKS AND IT'S A LOT OF WORK I KNOW BY THAT FRIENDS AND LOTS OF WORK, TAKING ALL THOSE BOOKS THERE, MANNY, IT'S REALLY A WORTHWHILE IT BATTLE BROWSER BLUFFTON REPORT. YES. THE FRIENDS OF THE [00:50:01] LIBRARY AND, UH, ONLINE. UM, ALL I CAN SAY IS THEY ARE LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS. THEY'RE LOOKING FOR GOOD BOOKS, AUDIO BOOKS, NUMBERS WITH REALLY GOOD ASKING YOU AS WELL. SO MANY PEOPLE MOVED AWAY. AND SO MANY NEW PEOPLE THAT COME IN THAT WHAT I'M GOING TO DO THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY IS SEE IF I COULD SEND OUT NOTICES ABOUT JOINING. AND WE DO HAVE THIS ONE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY FLYER VOTED WHERE I LIVE TO TRY AND GET MORE PEOPLE TO DO A VOLUNTEER FOR SO MANY PEOPLE READ IT. AND THAT'S WHAT, THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR. THEY NEED THE SUPPORT, THEY NEED THE VOLUNTEERS. AND I THINK WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO START WITH A WHOLE NEW GROUP OF PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE. CAN WE HAVE THOSE AVAILABLE ON THE BOOKMOBILE? THAT WOULD BE, I MEAN, YOU KNOW, FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN IT MAKES THE STOP, IF IT'S BLOCKED IN IS LEFT AND FRIENDS OF LIBRARY, IF IT'S WHOEVER WE HAVE, WE COULD HAVE SOME OF THOSE OUT ON THE TABLE. AND I REALLY THINK EVERY TRUSTEE SHOULDN'T BE JOINING FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY AND ALSO THE FOUNDATION, WHICH PROVIDES US LOTS OF SUPPORT AND MONEY. SO I ALWAYS PUT THAT IN AND WE MISSED, I DO IT IN DECEMBER. IT'S REALLY THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE OPENING OF THE BOSTON LIBRARY, REOPENING, I KEEP GOING, YOU SHOULD HAVE THESE IN AMISH. AND THEN, YOU KNOW, LIKE A PLACE WHEN YOU CHECK OUT WITH BOOKS, WHATEVER. SO HAVE THESE THERE, BECAUSE EVERYBODY WILL LOVE. AND YOU KNOW, THE BOOKMOBILE GOES AROUND. I KNOW WHEN IT COMES TO SUN CITY, WE HAVE LOTS OF PATRIOTS. SO THAT'S A TIME TO PUT IT OUT. YOU MIGHT WANT TO JOIN YOUR FRIENDS IN THE LIBRARY. THEY PROVIDE THIS DECK. SO YEAH. AND THEY GIVE YOU VARIOUS WAYS TO JOIN. I MEAN, $15. THANK YOU, ROSS. IS THERE ANYTHING TO TURN LAST MEETING? OKAY. WE HAD NOTHING FROM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. UM, IF WE'RE OFF SCHEDULE, I HELPED PUT TOGETHER, UM, AMANDA'S GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. AND IF WE'RE BEHIND SCHEDULE, IT'S TOTALLY MY FAULT. AMANDA IS DOES, IS DOING A TERRIFIC JOB, BUT I'VE HAD SOME SURGERY AND BEEN A LITTLE DELAYED WHEN I'M BACK IN THE SADDLE. IT'S SO, UH, WE'LL BE, WE'LL BE LAUNCHING IN SEPTEMBER. GREAT. THANK YOU. UM, NO CHALLENGE MATERIAL IS ALL AT THAT POINT. UM, SHE HAD SUGGESTED WOULD BE A CHANGE, BUT WE DIDN'T SPEAK THE NAME OF THE COMMITTEE AND DISCUSS ABOUT WHAT WE COULD DO THAT LIBRARY FACILITIES, ERNIE, THAT'S OUR CHAIR, JOE ROSELEE AND DENNIS BLUFFTON BRANCH LIBRARY, INNOVATION, EVERYBODY. ALL RIGHT. NOW THE CONTRACT, WHICH WAS FUNDED. SO WE'RE STILL WAITING FOR ALL OF THE ORDERED FURNITURE DURING THE PANDEMIC. SO WE'RE JUST WAITING FOR ALL THE NEW RIGHT NOW. ALL THE TROUBLE STARTS IS DONE. [00:55:01] YOU HAVE NOT YET COMPLETED THE FINAL PUNCH LIST, BUT THAT IS IN PROCESS. THEY'RE WRAPPING UP LOOSE ENDS. UM, AND HE HAD NO INDICATION THAT THE FURNITURE IS DELAY. AGAIN. WE ORDERED IT EARLY ON IN THE SUMMER. THEY HAD AN INDICATION, BUT WE KNOW, SO WE ARE ANXIOUS TO REOPEN HER AND LET EVERYBODY SEE THE NEW LOOK. SO MAYBE OPEN IN OCTOBER. I HATE TO PUT A DAY ON SOMETHING I CAN'T GUARANTEE I'LL PUT IT UP.
