OKATIE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH THIS NATION HAS ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE LITERAL SUFFERING AND JUSTICE FOR ALL FOREVER. OKAY SO NOW THAT WE'RE OFFICIALLY IN SESSION HERE THE

WE NEED TO LOOK AT THE APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA. >> AND CAN I GET A MOTION FOR THE APPROVAL ON THAT? OKAY. SO THERE WE GOT ONE AND TODAY I GET A SECOND I SECOND. OKAY. AND ALL IN FAVOR PLEASE.
EITHER EITHER RAISE YOUR HAND OR SAY I. CHRIS BEFORE GOD PLEASE FIRST BEFORE YOU APPROVE THAT. YEAH. DID YOU WANT TO AMEND YOUR AGENDA TO ADD ELECTIONS? I'M NOT SURE THAT MADE THE AGENDA.
OH YEAH YEAH THAT'S YOU'RE RIGHT. I'M GLAD YOU BROUGHT THAT UP JOHN. I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THAT. YEAH.
WE NEED TO WE NEED TO AMEND THE AGENDA FOR THE ELECTIONS OF OFFICERS FOR THIS FOR THE CHAIRMAN AND FOR THE VISE CHAIRMAN WHICH WE'LL DO WHEN WE COME IN UNDER NEW BUSINESS ONLY. I NEED SOMEONE TO MOVE TO MAKE A MOTION TO ADD INTO THE AGENDA
ELECTION FOR CHAIRMAN BUDGET CHAIRMAN. >> SINCE I MADE THE ORIGINAL MOTION I WOULD SUGGEST THAT WE AMEND THE MOTION TO INCLUDE THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE
UPCOMING YEAR UNDER NEW BUSINESS POSSIBLY. >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT. JIM CAN I GET A SECOND? SECOND.
OKAY. OKAY. THERE'S A SECOND FOR THAT.
SO NOW WE WILL VOTE ON THE NEW AGENDA AND WE CAN DO IT BY HAND RAYS OR BY SAYING IF YOU APPROVE. I SO ALL IN FAVOR. OK.
ARE THERE ANY ANY THAT DO NOT APPROVE ANY ABSENT ABSTAINS? NO.
SO THE MOTION PASSES THE AGENDA WILL BE ADDED. IT WILL BE MODIFIED TO INCLUDE THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS. NEXT ORDER OF BUSINESS IS THE APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM
[5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – MARCH 18, 2021]
THE MARCH 18TH MEETING. AND CAN I HAVE A MOTION FOR FOR APPROVING OR DISCUSSION? IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION ON THE ON ANY CHANGES THROUGH THE TO THE MINUTES ON MARCH 18TH MEETING NOT SEEING NOT TO HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 18TH MEETING NOT EVERYONE AT ONCE. NOW GO AHEAD. HI THERE.I JUST NEED A SECOND ON THAT. OKAY. SO I CAN THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN VOTE ALL IN FAVOR. SAY I RAISE YOUR HAND I ON DAY ANY OPPOSED YOU'RE NOT ANY ABSTENTIONS. ALL RIGHT. ANYTHING FOR TODAY. >> THANK YOU. I JUST WANT TO SIT IN ON THE MEETING. APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT. LOOK FORWARD TO THE MEETING.
THANK YOU. OKAY. THANKS, GLENN.
ALL RIGHT. SO WE'LL MOVE ON TO THE NEXT PART OF THE.
[7. DIRECTOR’S REPORT]
WOULD YOU BE THE DIRECTORS REPORT? JOHN, I'LL TURN IT OVER TO YOU.ALL RIGHT. THANKS, CHRIS. AND I'M GOING TO SHARE MY SCREEN THERE ON THE RIGHT ITEM AND SHARE. ALL RIGHT.
YOU SHOULD SEE OUR POINT PRESENTATION COME UP. >> HOPEFULLY RIBAUT SEES OUT OUR NEW ROADMAP. THEY'VE BEEN TRAVELING UP AND DOWN HIGHWAY 70.
YOU MIGHT SEE THAT ON THE ON THE DIGITAL BILLBOARD THIS OUT THERE I WOULD CERTAINLY FIND
[00:05:03]
THIS COUPLE HEADLINES THERE OR THE LEGISLATIVE UPDATE. WE TALKED ABOUT THIS A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO THE YEAR THAT BILL THE NUMBER OF THE BILL ACTUALLY CHANGED.I THINK IT WAS SIX THIRTY ONE STARTED AND ENDED UP AS 670 FIVE.
BUT THIS IS A BILL THAT WAS PASSED 43 TO 0 IN THE SENATE AND MOVED BACK TO THE HOUSE.
HOPEFULLY IT'LL PASS THE HOUSE AND BE SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR. BUT THIS IS OUR LEGISLATION THAT TAKES THE AIRLINE PROPERTY TAX AND PUTS MORE OF IT INTO THE STATE AVIATION FUND.
WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST WAS THE FIRST LET'S SEE I THINK WITH THE FIRST TWO AND A HALF MILLION WENT TO THE GENERAL FUND AND THEN MONEY CAME INTO THE AVIATION FUND THAT'S BEEN SPLIT IN HALF FOR THE UPCOMING FISCAL YEAR. MAYBE EVEN FOR THIS FISCAL YEAR I THINK IT'S FOR THIS FISCAL YEAR AND THEN. SO THAT'S A BIT OF A MILLION POINT FIVE. WE'LL GET TO THE GENERAL AND THEN THE REST GOES TO STATE AVIATION FUND. NOW THE OTHER PROVISION IN THAT DEFLATION IS THAT STARTING IN NEXT FISCAL YEAR 22 AND ONWARD INTO THE FUTURE THE ENTIRETY OF THOSE TAX REVENUES WOULD GO TO THE STATE AVIATION FUND. THEY ALSO ARE GOING TO GO TO AIRPLANE TAX IN BONDS AND LIKE IT WOULD ALLOW AND I GUESS I SHOULD LET YOU KNOW I'VE GOT MY COUNCILMAN RON THEN WITH ME TODAY OBSERVING THE MEETING. SO IF IT APPEARS I'M ON MY BEST BEHAVIOR, THAT'S WHY IT'S SUCH A SMALL THAT THAT'S A LEGISLATIVE UPDATE BUT JUST COURT'S ANALYSIS OF HOW THOSE FUNDS ARE USED. AT GENERAL AVIATION AIRPORTS THEY'RE USED FOR MAINTENANCE COULD BE ANYTHING FROM ASPHALT OVERLAY TO PAINTINGS, MARKINGS AND THEN TO PARTICIPATION IN CAPITAL PROJECTS. MOST OF THE COMMERCIAL AIRPORTS DO NOT GET PARTICIPATION FROM THE STATE. HILTON HEAD IN FLORENCE ONLY TO CURRENTLY GET THAT PARTICIPATION. CERTAINLY WE DID THAT DIRECTLY AT AND ACTUALLY PART OF OUR BUDGET FOR NEXT YEAR TO ON THIS AS WELL. BUT THE STATE AVIATION ASSOCIATION HAS HIRED A LOBBYIST TO HELP US WITH ISSUES LIKE THIS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY CONTINUE AND ALSO TO GENERATE ADDITIONAL REVENUES FOR THE STATE AERONAUTICS.
THEY CAN HELP FUND MORE OF THE PROJECTS IN ALL THE AIRPORTS THAT WOULD INCLUDE THE OTHER COMMERCIAL AIRPORTS AS WELL. SO WE'VE GOT A BUDGET LINE ITEM IN FOR NEXT YEAR TO HELP
SUPPORT THE COST OF THAT THAT LOBBYIST. >> ALL RIGHT.
LET'S TALK ABOUT BEFORE. EXACTLY. MARCH OPERATIONS WERE VERY UP ALMOST TWELVE HUNDRED OPERATIONS IN MARCH. IT'S A PRETTY BIG NUMBER.
AND THEN THE PAST YOUR COUNT WE HAVEN'T BEEN REPORTING THIS WE'VE BEEN COLLECTING THIS FOR BEFORE EXECUTIVE. BUT WE DID START ASKING THIS WEEK WE KIND OF DO A QUICK INFORMATION GATHERED WHETHER A GENERAL AVIATION PILOT FLIES IN AND WE JUST ADDED A COUPLE OF ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS WHEN WE ASK FOLKS, YOU KNOW WHAT WHAT THEY'RE IN FOR THAT KIND OF THING AND OR STATE OR FUEL ORDER AND THINGS LIKE THAT. BUT WE STARTED ASKING THEM WHERE THEY'RE FROM AND HOW MANY PEOPLE CAME WITH THEM. AND FOR A COUPLE OF REASONS THERE'S JUST GOOD INFORMATION HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE USING THE AIRPORT AND KIND OF WHERE THEY'RE COMING FROM. BUT ALSO WE TRACK THAT NUMBER BECAUSE THIS YEAR IT MIGHT REMEMBER WE APPLIED FOR H TAX FUNDING AND WE DID RECEIVE FUNDING AND AS PART OF THAT WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO REPORT HOW MANY VISITORS ARE COMING IN AND OBVIOUSLY ALL THESE FOLKS ALMOST ALL OF THESE FOLKS ARE COMING FROM OUTSIDE 50 MILES WHICH DEFINES HIM AS A TOURIST OR A VISITOR. WE DO GET A FEW YOU JUST FLY OUT MELTING.
BUT THE VAST MAJORITY COME FROM OUTSIDE 50 MILES SINCE COMING BY AIR.
SO IT'S A GREAT NUMBER TO TRACK SO THAT WE CAN REPORT BACK TO THE TAX COMMITTEE SO THEY UNDERSTAND KIND OF WHAT WE'RE DOING WITH THE FUNDING THAT WE RECEIVE.
SO AGAIN I JUST TALKED ABOUT THE TAX FUNDS. WE DID RECEIVE 80 APPROVAL FOR EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS AND THAT'S GOING TO BE USED INSIDE THE TERMINAL TO UPDATE THE LOBBY AREA AND KIND. THE LOUNGE AREA SO TO SPEAK. SO WE'LL BE SEEING SOME GOOD IMPROVEMENTS COMING THERE. I'M VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE THAT FUNDING.
IT'S DEFINITELY A GOOD BOOST FOR THAT PROJECT. QUESTION IS THERE BEFORE I LIVE ON JAPAN, DON, THERE'S ONE THING I MEANT TO SAY WHEN YOU DURING YOUR LEGISLATIVE.
THERE'S ALSO ANOTHER PIECE OF LEGISLATION OUT THERE. IT'S IN THAT IT'S IN THE SENATE . I HAVEN'T SEEN IF IT'S MOVED TO THE HOUSE YET BUT IT ALSO IS TALKING ABOUT REDUCING THE PROPERTY TAX ON PLANES FROM 5 PERCENT DOWN TO 3 THAT'S OUT
[00:10:04]
THERE. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU WERE AWARE OF IT OR NOT BUT I SAW IT BECAUSE IT ALSO INCLUDES BOTH PROPERTY TAX. OK, I GET IT.THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT. WE'LL MOVE ALONG HERE.
WE DID HAVE SOME GREAT PHOTOS THAT PAUL SENT TO MAYOR ADOBE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.
THEY HAD SOME VISITORS FROM THE MARINE CORPS COME IN AND I NEED THE REFILLS THAT GAVE US A NICE BOOST OR JET FUEL IN THE WE'LL SEE THAT. BUT WE HAD THESE ARE ALL COBRAS ARE ATTACK HELICOPTERS IN THE IN THE RECORD THEN WE HAD SOME STANDARD IS IN THERE AS WELL.
WERE AT NINE HELICOPTERS AND ALSO IT WAS PRETTY EXCITING FOR THE GUYS.
WHERE HAS MEXICO HELPED THEM THERE THAT DAY BECAUSE THEY WERE COMING IN NEEDING GET FUEL AND HEAD RIGHT BACK OUT. SO DEFINITELY NOT OUR OUR NORMAL VISITORS UP THERE BUT EVERYBODY DID AN AWESOME JOB GET EVERYTHING TAKEN CARE OF . AND LIKE I SAID, IT WAS A NICE
BOOST TO THE JET FUEL NUMBER FOR THE MONTH. >> THE ENERGY NUMBERS AT THAT GAS AND JET I MEMBER I CAN'T REMEMBER HOW MUCH WE PUMPED INTO THOSE GUYS ON THE JET SIDE BUT IT DEFINITELY HELPED THAT NUMBER. BUT IT WAS A STRONG JET NUMBER IN DENMARK ANYWAY. THERE'S FLIGHT OPERATIONS AGAIN.
JAN, REMEMBER THAT WAS WHERE THE NUMBERS KIND OF THEY KIND OF GOT MESSED UP.
THE COUNTERS WERE. WE HAD WITH THE COUNTER SORT OF DISREGARD THAT JANUARY NUMBER FOR THIS YEAR MADE YOU SEE THE TOTAL FUEL FLOW. THAT'S IT.
THAT'S A BIG NUMBER FOR MARKS. IT'S GREAT. >> ALL RIGHT.
ANY QUESTIONS ON AIR BEFORE WE HEAD OVER TO I CAN'T SEE EVERYBODY SO IT WAS LIKELY TO SPEAK UP. YOU GOT SOMETHING? ALL RIGHT.
HILTON HEAD FOR I MAY GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE. I'LL JUST COUPLE THE ITEMS THAT ARE GOING TO CANCEL THESE TWO OR BOTH LEASE AGREEMENTS PROPERTIES AND RUN 100 OF THESE PROPERTIES AT THE AIRPORT THE COUNTY HAS PURCHASED. SO WE'RE GOING TO LEASE OUT A PORTION OF THE 28 HUNTER ROAD WHERE STONE WORKS CURRENTLY LOCATED LEASED OR SHOWROOM IS LOCATED. SO WE'RE GOING TO UPDATE THEIR LEASE AGREEMENT BECAUSE THEY'RE STAYING IN THAT SHOWROOM A LITTLE BIT LONGER THAN WE INITIALLY ANTICIPATED.
SO NOW WE GO TO COUNTY COUNCIL 26 AS WELL. THE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH A PAC ATLANTIC AND IMPACTS OUR CONTRACTOR FOR THE RAMP EXPANSION.
SO WE'RE GOING TO BE LEASING THEM A LITTLE BIT OFFICE SPACE IN 30 HOW ROAD? AND THAT GIVES THEM IT'S GREAT BECAUSE IT BACKS UP DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO THE PROJECT SITE.
SO THEY'LL HAVE AN ABILITY FOR SOME EQUIPMENT BACK AND ALSO HAVE A CONTRACTOR CONFERENCE ROOM AND OFFICE AREA IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE PROJECTS.
SO THOSE TWO WILL BE GOING TO COUNTY COUNCIL ON THE TWENTY SIXTH.
AND THEN JUST THIS PAST WEEK WE HAD A COUPLE ITEMS THAT COUNCIL AS WELL.
ONE WAS JUST THAT THIRD READING OF THE H TAX LORD HILTON HEAD DID RECEIVE SOME AS WELL.
HILTON HAD APPLIED FOR THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR MARKETING AND DID RECEIVE THAT.
SO THAT'LL BE A GOOD BOOST IN MARKETING BUDGET. AND THEN WE HAD A RESOLUTION FOR ACCEPTING GRANTS AND NOW LET'S JUST SAY THERE'S A PROVISION IN THE FAA A GRANT OFFERS WHEREBY THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR JUST NEEDS TO BE GRANTED AUTHORITY BY COUNCIL TO ACCEPT A GRANT. SO A LITTLE BIT OF A FORMALITY BUT SOMETHING THAT OUR LEGAL DEPARTMENT THOUGHT WAS IMPORTANT TO TAKE THE COUNTY COUNCIL RIGHT.
>> NEWS FROM THE OPERATIONS IN OUR GUYS. WE TALKED FOR A COUPLE YEARS ABOUT GOING TO GET A SECOND HALF TRUCK. FIFTEEN HUNDRED GALLON CROPS THAT WE'LL HAVE TO THE BAY ONES THAT WILL HAVE ONE SMALL RESCUE TRUCK TO IS A REQUIREMENT FOR OUR INDEX OR AN INDEX BE AIRPORT NOW FROM OUR STANDPOINT.
SO WE CURRENTLY MEET THAT TWO TRUCKS WITH THE STIMULUS, TWO BIG TRUCKS WHICH IS GREAT.
SO THAT OPPORTUNITY IS OUT. I THINK THOSE DAYS ARE DUE OUT MAY THE 7TH IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. THERE'S ONLY THREE PROVIDERS IN THE US OF RF TRUCKS SO WE'LL ONLY GET A MAXIMUM OF THREE BIDS ON THIS ONE FLORENCE BETTER PROJECT JUST LIKE THIS LAST YEAR. SO HOPEFULLY IT'S DISCRETION MINDS PRETTY SIMILAR SIZED AIRPORTS SO VERY SIMILAR THAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR. SO IT SHOULD BE FAIRLY EASY FOR THE PROVIDERS TO ANSWER THAT CALL THEN IT TAKES ABOUT A YEAR FOR THEM TO BUILD THAT TRUCK.
SO IT'LL TAKE SOME TIME LAST SATURDAY. SO WHAT WE'RE IN FOR CPR RECERTIFICATION JUST REST ASSURED THAT YOU'RE AT THE AIRPORT AND SOMETHING HAPPENS.
HOPEFULLY SOMEBODY CAN SAVE YOU. SO MYSELF INCLUDED.
SO JUST THROUGH THE DAY TO ME AND I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU QUICKLY BUT GREAT TRAINING.
WE HAD SOMEBODY TO MEN WHO WORKS AT BLUFFTON HIGH SCHOOL, A CERTIFIED TRAINER.
I THINK IT WAS GOOD TEST FOR THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION I BELIEVE DID A GREAT JOB ON THE TRAINING. SO WE'RE GOING TO DO SOME MORE OF THAT AND TRY TO GET AS MANY
[00:15:02]
OF OUR STAFF OR WE CAN'T GET EVERYBODY CPR CERTIFIED AND BASIC LIFESAVING.WE'RE GOING TO GET THESE MEDICINES. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT FOR AND THEN FINALLY THE BLUFFTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT TRAINING FOR THAT IS I MIGHT HAVE MENTIONED THIS A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO BUT THERE'S A ACTUALLY A CLASS AT BLUFFTON HIGH SCHOOL.
THE TEACHERS FIREFIGHTING AND SEVERAL OTHER STUDENTS ARE INTERESTED IN KIND OF CROSS TRAINING ON OUR SIDE. SO WE'VE I THINK SIX OR SEVEN STUDENTS COMING ON DIFFERENT DAYS. IT'S BEEN A COUPLE HOURS A DAY WITH OUR FOLKS SO THEY'VE BEEN GOING AND DOING INSPECTIONS WITH THE GUYS AND PRACTICING WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND LEARNING HOW THE TRUCKS OPERATE AND PUT ME GEAR ON AND DO THINGS LIKE THAT.
SO I THINK OUR OUR STAFF HAS HAD A GOOD TIME WITH THAT. I THINK THE STUDENTS HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO LEARN SOMETHING DIFFERENT ABOUT BEING ON AN AIRFIELD.
SO THE GOOD OPPORTUNITIES FOR BOTH AND THEN JUST THIS LAST BULLET IS JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE DO PLAY SEVERAL ROLES IN SUPPORTING THE HERITAGE. THIS IS A KIND OF AN ODD YOU KNOW, EVERYBODY YOU TAKE THAT WHEN YOU'RE THERE AT THE AIRPORT SO YOU'RE JUST SUPPORTING ALL THE AIRCRAFT MOVE IN AND OUT. WE ARE DOWN THAT THE GENERAL AVIATION SIDE VERY BUSY BUT WE ALSO SUPPORT THE RBC BY HELPING THEM OUT OF THE BMW BECAUSE ALL THE THE PLAYERS WHO ARE ON THE ACTUALLY PLAYING IN THE TOURNAMENT ARE ISSUED SO TO SPEAK A BMW DRIVE DURING THE TOURNAMENT TIME. AND SO WE COORDINATE WITH THE FOLKS AT THE TOURNAMENT BOTH THE PRIVATE SIDE IN GENERAL AND THE COMMERCIAL SIDE.
SO WHEN BMW IS WHEN THOSE PLAYERS MAYBE THEY DON'T MAKE A CARD OR SOMETHING HAPPENS OR WHERE THEY FINISH AT THE END OF THE WEEKEND THEY RETURN THOSE BMW TO THE AIRPORT AND THEN WE COORDINATE WITH THE FOLKS AT THE HERITAGE TO COME AND PICK UP THIS LITTLE SERVICE THAT WE PROVIDE THAT GRATIS TO SUPPORT OUR TOURNAMENT. SO IT'S A BIG, BIG DEAL ON HILTON HEAD AND SO WE'RE GLAD TO PLAY A SMALL ROLE IN THAT. RIGHT.
JUST COUPLE OF THINGS FROM WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT SECURITY OF IF YOU'RE ON THE IF YOU HAVE A BADGE THEN YOU'VE BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT THE SECURITY ON IT.
THAT'S COMPLETE AND ALL THE ACCESS CODES FOR THE GATES HAVE BEEN UPDATED.
SO IF YOU GO TO ENTER A GATE, IF YOU'VE GOT A BADGE AND YOUR OLD CODE DOESN'T WORK, THAT'S BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR E-MAIL. SO YOU DID GET THE NEW ACCESS CODES IF YOU CAN'T FIND THEM JUST CALL OUR SECURITY PARTNER THAT THEY CARRY.
BUT THAT ORDER WAS COMPLETE WITH I THINK WE'D HAVE MAYBE A A 1 PERCENT DEFICIENCY WHICH IS GREAT. THAT MEANS THAT THERE'S A BADGE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU KNOW, SOMEBODY MISPLACED OR AN EMPLOYEE WHO LEFT IT NEVER TURNED THE BADGE AND YOU'RE ALLOWED UP TO A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE AND WERE WELL BELOW THAT THRESHOLD.
SO WE PASSED OUT ON IT. WE'RE FLYING COLORS WITH TSA GUYS SO THAT'S ALWAYS GOOD PROJECT UPDATE FOR YOU. THERMAL EXPANSION IS STILL MOVING ALONG.
WE HAD A MEETING A COUPLE WEEKS AGO TO GIVE A QUICK UPDATE ON THAT.
NOT MUCH OF A CHANGE THERE REALLY JUST WORKING OUT SOME OF THE DETAILS WITH I.T. AND HBC MAYBE ELECTRICAL AND THINGS LIKE THAT. SO JUST SOME OF THE FINER POINTS INSIDE THE TERMINAL BUILDING. SO THAT ONE IS I DON'T KNOW IF I GUESS THE PERCENTAGE IS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 75 AND 85 PERCENT COMPLETE PROBABLY ON THE RAMP EXPANSION THAT PROJECT LIKE I MENTIONED THAT THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RUNNING SOME SPACE CONTROL TO OPERATE OUT OF . WE'VE HAD SOME SURVEY WORK STARTED AND I THINK HOPEFULLY NEXT COUPLE WEEKS WILL HAVE SOME CELL PHONES INSTALLED AND THEN TREE REMOVAL BEGIN. SO WE SHOULD SEE PROGRESS HERE PRETTY SOON.
THERE ARE SOME ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS HERE WORKED OUT AS WELL THAT THE LATEST JUST A LITTLE BIT BUT WE'LL GET THAT STARTED SOON. THE PROPERTY ACQUISITION ROAD IS STILL UNDERWAY BUT SOME OF THE PROPERTIES THAT WE'VE ALREADY ACQUIRED ARE GOING TO BE PUT TO GOOD USE AND YOU CAN SEE STONEWORK STILL USING A PART OF THEIRS.
AND THEN WE'VE GOT SOME OTHER FUNCTIONS HAPPENING ON SOME OF THOSE OTHER PROPERTIES.
SO SOME OF THOSE WOULD BE SHORT TERM BECAUSE WHEN WE DO END UP HAVING TO DO THE NEXT PHASE OF TURMOIL EXPANSION THAT WILL ACTUALLY EXPAND AND USE THOSE PROPERTIES FOR THE PROJECT.
SO BUT IN THE MEANTIME WE'RE TO MAKE GOOD USE IT OUT. AND THEN THE LAST ONE THE AUTOMATED AUTOMATED GATES ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING INSTALLED AS WELL.
WE'VE GOT ALL THE ELECTRICAL AND THINGS AND SO ALSO JUST WAITING US OVER OF THE GATE HARDWARE AND THEN THOSE ARE YOU TO COME IN FOR BADGE RENEWALS AND STUFF LIKE THAT.
WE GET TO USE THE AUTOMATIC GATES INSTEAD OF THE HAVING OUR GUYS RUN OUTSIDE TO OPEN THE
GATES FOR BE UP IN MODERN TIMES . >> AND THEN WITH THE AIRLINES THIS IS REALLY A GOOD NEWS STORY MULTIPLE PARTS TO THIS ONE BUT TSA REPORTS THEY'RE THROUGH NUMBERS TO US. WE RECEIVE THEM ON A LOCAL BASIS FOR OUR AIRPORT AS WELL
[00:20:01]
AS ALL OF THEM IN THE STATE. AND THEN WE ALSO GET THE NATIONWIDE NUMBERS EACH DAY.AND SINCE I WAS MARCH 11TH OF THIS YEAR, EVERY DAY SINCE MARCH 11TH, TSA HAS SCREENED OVER A MILLION PASSENGERS. SO IF YOU HEARKEN BACK TO LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME WE HIT A LOW LEVEL I THINK IT WAS 80 SEVEN THOUSAND BELIEVE IT OR NOT NATIONWIDE.
SO EVERY DAY SINCE MARCH 11TH AND OVER A MILLION MOST OF BEEN PUT UP RANDOMLY EMPLOYMENT.
SO A TYPICAL NUMBER FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR IS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN ABOUT TWO POINT TWO AND TWO POINT FOUR MILLION. SO IT'S STILL LOWER THAN I WAS TWO YEARS AGO BUT IT'S A WHOLE LOT HIGHER THAN IT WAS LAST YEAR. SO THAT'S GOOD AND OUR NUMBERS LOCALLY HAVE PICKED UP. I WAS LOOKING ON TUESDAY WHICH IS USUALLY ONE OF OUR SLOWER DAYS AND I THINK IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY WE PUT ABOUT FOUR AND A HALF TIMES 4 1/2 TIMES MORE PEOPLE THROUGH THE CHECKPOINT THIS MONTH THAN WE DID JUST SO THAT THE NUMBERS HAVE CERTAINLY INCREASED STILL TO AIRLINES FLYING BUT THEY'VE INCREASED THE NUMBER OF FLIGHTS IN AND OF COURSE, YOU KNOW, DELTA ADDED TO LAGUARDIA DAILY FLIGHT .
SO IT'S BUSY. WE'VE GOT FOUR FOR THOSE THAT WERE HERE THIS PAST WEEKEND.
YOU SAW WHAT 16 FLIGHTS ON SATURDAY LOOKS LIKE 16 BOTH WAYS TO ENTER THAT TERMINAL VERY BUSY. AND THEN JUST A REMINDER, A TO PUT THIS ON HERE WHICH I THINK WAS VERY HELPFUL. YOU'VE GOT UNDER SIX MONTHS NOW TO GET YOUR REAL I.D. SET UP SO IF YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF A YEAR DELAY THAT WAS BROUGHT ON BY KIND LAST YEAR, BILL, REST ON YOUR LAURELS. GO OUT THERE AND GET YOUR REAL I.D..
IT'S REALLY, REALLY EASY TO DO IF YOU JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE YOU KNOW, THE D.A. WEB SITE OR DMV AS THE SCADA BE WEB SITE. VERY EASY TO DO.
SO THERE IS AN OPPORTUNITY IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE PHOTO YOU CAN GO GET A PHOTO AS WELL. YOU CAN UPDATE THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO USE IT ONCE FOR ONE YEAR OR 35. I TRIED THAT. ALL RIGHT.
LET'S MOVE RIGHT ALONG HERE. THEN OF COURSE THE BIG NEWS SOME YOU WERE WITH US IN THE TERMINAL CELEBRATE THIS BACK AT THE END OF MARCH. BUT UNITED ANNOUNCED NOT ONLY DID THEY ANNOUNCE ALL THREE OF THEIR HUBS ARE GOING TO HAVE DAILY SERVICE NOW ALSO CHICAGO ,NEWARK AND IN DALLAS WILL ALL BE DAILY THIS YEAR BUT THEY ADDED THESE SIX NEW CITIES TO CLEVELAND, COLUMBUS, CINCINNATI ,PITTSBURGH, INDIANAPOLIS AND ST. WILLIS.
EACH ONE WILL HAVE AT LEAST THREE FLIGHTS A WEEK AND I THINK IT WAS COLUMBUS IS DOING FOUR FLIGHTS A WEEK. SO THERE THEY STAGGER THAT NICELY ACROSS THE DAY SO THAT WE DON'T HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF OVERLAP WITH THE SMALL AMOUNT OF GAMES WE HAVE.
AND THEN THE PICTURE THAT SHOW IN HERE IS THE C.R. J. 550, WHICH IS WHERE THE UNITED IS GOING FLYING THE MAJORITY OF THESE ROUTES WITH I THINK THEY'LL PROBABLY BE FLYING THE CHICAGO FLIGHT AND MAYBE JUST IF CHICAGO FLY I'M NOT SURE WOULD BE EMBRY OR 170 OR 175 JUST BECAUSE OF THE FUEL LOAD NEEDS. BUT FLIP ACLJ J 550 IS IT'S A NEW CONCEPT AND UNITED IS ONE OF THE FEW GROUPS THAT'S USING THIS.
THIS IS A C RJ 700. SO IT'S TYPICALLY A 70 C AIRPLANE AND IT'S BEEN MODIFIED TO HAVE ONLY 50 SEATS IN IT AND WHAT UNITED DID WAS ACTUALLY PUT A FIRST CLASS CABIN.
SO IT'S THE ONLY 50 SEAT AIRCRAFT IN COMMERCIAL FLEET THAT HAS A FIRST CLASS CABIN.
SO YOU'VE FIRST CLASS AND THEN THERE'S TWO OF THE REGULAR CODE CABINS.
SO A TOTAL OF 50 PASSENGERS MORE ROOM IN THERE OBVIOUSLY FOR LEG ROOM AND MOVING AROUND AND LUGGAGE BUT ALSO GOLF BAGS WHICH I'M SURE WAS A CONSIDERATION WITH THE UNITED TOOK INTO ACCOUNT. SO THIS WOULD BE NATIVE. AND THEN WE'RE EXCITED TO SEE THIS AIRPLANE OPERATE HERE AND UNITED WILL BEGIN THEIR HUB SERVICE STARTING ON MAY 6 AND THEN THE SERVICE TO THESE OTHER CITIES WILL POINT TO POINT CITIES WHICH IS AN INTERESTING CONCEPT AS WELL. THIS ALL STAR MADE A 27. SO FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW THE KIND OF THE NUANCE OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POINT OF POINT AND REGULAR HUB NONSTOP IS POINT. THE POINT IS THAT THAT MEANS THAT THESE CITIES THIS MATCH UP IN CLEVELAND THE HILL HAD COLUMBUS THE HILTON HAD ASKED SPECIFIC RULES THAT WERE YOU KNOW, IDENTIFIED AND THEN IN RESEARCH BY UNITED AND THEY SAID THIS IS A SPECIFIC AMOUNT THAT WE ALL WANT TO FLY. SO IT'S NOT YOU KNOW, THESE CITIES ARE NOT BIG HUB CITIES.
THESE ARE DIRECT POINT TO POINT SERVICE. SO THIS MEANS THAT THEY KNOW ENOUGH PEOPLE IN CLEVELAND WANT TO COME TO HELP THAT ISLAND AND NOT PEOPLE FROM THAT ISLAND WANT TO GO TO CLEVELAND. WHEREAS WHEN YOU ANALYZE OBSERVERS YOU LOOK AT WHAT THAT MIX IS BEYOND THE HUB AS WELL. SO THIS IS PRETTY BIG TO GET SIX POINT TO POINT CITIES.
[00:25:07]
>> ALL RIGHT. AND THEN LESLIE AND JIM, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR BEING IN THE TERMINAL ON SATURDAY. I THINK WE HAD ABOUT A THOUSAND OF OUR CLOSEST FRIENDS IN THE TERMINAL THAT DAY ACTUALLY TWICE THAT I CALLED THE FOLKS IN AND OUT.
IT WAS A REALLY BUSY DAY IN THE TERMINAL BUT SERIOUSLY MADE AN APPEARANCE AND HE STUCK AROUND FOR A COUPLE HOURS AND POSED FOR A LOT OF PHOTOGRAPHS AT THE BEGINNING RBC HERITAGE SO VERY LUCKY TO HAVE HIM AROUND AT THAT BEACH. HE'S A HE'S IN VERY HIGH DEMAND THIS WEEK. SO IT WAS GREAT TO HAVE HIM IN THE IN THE TERMINAL.
A LOT OF FOLKS WERE POSING FOR PICTURES AND WE ALSO HAD SOME OF OUR PARTNERS INTO HANDOUTS, GOODY BAGS AND SOME HOSPITALITY ITEMS TO THE TRAVELERS AT COFFEE AND CHOCOLATES, A LITTLE CAKES. SO A LOT OF THE WEARY TRAVELERS COMING OFF THE REGIONAL JETS.
WE'RE HAPPY TO HAVE THAT SO BIG DAY. THANK YOU FOR THAT.
AND LESLIE AND JIM, I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU ALL BEING THERE .
ALL RIGHT. NOW WE'RE BACK INTO THE NUMBERS AND GET THIS IN THE BACK UP AS WELL. BUT THIS IS THE MONTHLY NUMBERS AS YOU CAN SEE, IT'S A BUSY ON THE DEBT SIDE AS WELL THAT WE EXPECT TO SEE THAT TREND CONTINUING.
>> YOU KNOW, LAST YEAR SIGNATURE HAD A HUGE SEASON. OBVIOUSLY APRIL WAS DOWN BUT EVERY MONTH AFTER THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY BUSY AND IT LOOKS LIKE THAT HAS NOT SLOWED DOWN.
SO IT'S BEEN BUSY THIS WEEK FOR SURE. AND HERE'S YOUR EMPLOYMENTS AND DEPLOYMENTS AGAIN AS I MENTIONED, THOSE NUMBERS ARE DEFINITELY TRENDING UPWARD.
SO WE'RE WE'RE IN GOOD SHAPE THERE AND WE HAVE SOME GOOD PROJECTIONS FOR THE SUMMER TOO WITH THOSE ALL THE NEW FLIGHTS AT LA THAT SHOULD BE A STRONG SEASON FOR US.
YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR BACKUP INFORMATION. IF NOT, ATLANTA CAN GET YOU A COPY OF IT AND I THINK THAT'S IT. THAT'S ALL.
SO I'LL TAKE ANY QUESTIONS. JOHN, YOU MENTIONED DO WE WERE OUT THERE SATURDAY.
YOU MENTIONED IT WAS 16 FLIGHTS IN AND 16 OUT WITH THE UNITED FLIGHTS WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE SCHEDULE. WILL THEY BE SATURDAY FLIGHTS OR WILL THEY BE ALTERNATE DAYS
DURING THE WEEK THERE? >> SOME OF THOSE FLIGHTS WILL BE SATURDAY JAM NOT EVERY ONE OF THOSE THANKFULLY. SO I THINK THAT UNITED IF I RECALL THERE SCARED IT WAS EIGHT OR NINE ON SATURDAY. SO WE'LL BE SOMEWHERE IN THE 24 TO 25 RANGE OR WAS IN
DEPARTURES ON SATURDAYS. >> THANK YOU. YOU'RE WELCOME.
JOHN, ARE WE STILL HAVE AN THE SAME ISSUE THAT WE HAD TALKED ABOUT THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS REGARDING PEOPLE BEING CONFUSED BETWEEN HILTON HEAD AIRPORT AND SAVANNAH AIRPORT? THAT GUY. IS THAT STILL THE SAME OR IS THAT GOTTEN WORSE OR BETTER?
>> WELL, I'LL SHOW YOU THAT IT'S IT'S IT'S GOTTEN WORSE BY NUMBERS BUT IT'S PROBABLY STAYED THE SAME. BUT SANDERS YOU KNOW, WE HAVE A LOT MORE PEOPLE COMING IN NOW BUT IT'S THE SAME PERCENTAGE OF FOLKS WHO ARE CONFUSED AT BOTH AIRPORTS AND HAPPEN TO US AND IT HAPPENS DOWN A SPAN AS WELL. SO IT'S IT'S A PROBLEM THAT'S NOT GOING TO GO AWAY. IT'S PROBABLY GOING TO CONTINUE TO GET WORSE JUST BECAUSE MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE, YOU KNOW, TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE NONSTOP RIGHT ON TO THE ISLAND.
AND SO IT DOES CONFUSE PEOPLE AND THERE'S NOT ANY THERE'S NO GOVERNMENTAL WAY OR ANYTHING TO
TRY TO HELP THAT CHANGE. >> THAT'S JUST SOME WE WOULD HAVE TO DISCUSS WITH THE MAIN AIRPORT TO SEE IF THEY WOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME. I'M NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT THE
ANSWERS ARE ON THAT. >> CHRIS. THAT'S A HARD ONE TO ANSWER BUT I FEEL CERTAIN THAT THERE'S PROBABLY SOME GOVERNMENTAL WAY THAT THAT WOULD HAPPEN.
BUT IT IS GOING TO BE A HEAVY LIFT I THINK BECAUSE SAVANNAH CERTAINLY BENEFITS BY HAVING THE HILL ON THAT ISLAND. HILTON HAD NAME IN THERE IN THEIR BRAND.
>> MAY I JUMP IN FOR JUST A MOMENT ON THAT SUBJECT? CHRIS, THERE'S THE GOVERNMENT ISSUE IS ONE THING AND I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THAT. BUT THE GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS, THE SABERS AND THE WORLD SPANS AND SO FORTH THAT THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY USES TO BE BOOKED THEIR FLIGHTS. THERE MAY BE A WAY I DON'T KNOW THERE IS OR NOT THAT WE COULD APPROACH THEM AND SABER SYSTEM WHEN YOU BOOK THE TICKET IT SAYS HILTON HEAD SAVANNAH.
IT DOESN'T SAY SAVANNAH HILTON HEAD AND LITTLE NUANCES LIKE THAT CAN HAVE AN IMPACT.
I THINK SO. I THINK WE NEED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THAT SO THAT WE COULD ANSWER A QUESTION LIKE YOURS AND FIND OUT IF THERE'S ANY WAY WE COULD HAVE ANY IMPACT.
[00:30:02]
AND I DON'T HAVE THE ANSWER BUT THAT WOULD BE A SMALL THING. IT'S NOT GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED AND THEY PROBABLY WOULD FIGHT FIGHT IT TOOTH AND NAIL. BUT IT'S ONE OPTION THAT MAYBE SOMEONE COULD LOOK AT. BUT THERE WILL BE SOME I GUESS WE CAN DISCUSS MAYBE AND UNPACKWHAT THAT WOULD BE. >> SOME PROBABLY GOOD FOR THE MARKETING COMMITTEE OVER AND ON THE HILTON HEAD SIDE TO LOOK AT SOME OF WHAT WE CAN WE CAN LOOK AT THAT MAYBE ABOUT NEXT AND SEE WHAT OUR OPTIONS ARE. I HOPE THAT CONFUSION. ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR JOHN AT ALL AND THANK YOU FOR THE REPORT, JOHN, AS ALWAYS VERY, VERY THOROUGH AND
INFORMATIVE. >> THANK YOU. I'LL BE HERE IN CASE YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE. OK. SO SINCE WE'VE WE'VE LISTENED TO JOHN GO THROUGH THAT NOW ALL THE NUMBERS ARE IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S IMPROVING AT ALL THE AT ALL THE AIRPORTS. I DON'T REALLY HAVE MUCH OF A CHAIRMAN UPDATE OTHER THAN
[COMMITTEE REPORTS]
TALKING ABOUT COMMITTEE REPORTS. THERE ISN'T ANYTHING FROM OUR DARBY AT THIS TIME ON THE AIR W IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE IS. DO WE HAVE ANYTHING ON THEHILTON SIDE FOR THE COMMITTEE REPORTS JIM? >> NO, SIR, I DO NOT.
NOT FOR MARKETING OR ANYBODY ELSE FOR COMMITTEE REPORTS AT ALL OR WE ALL GET THEIR OKAY.
>> HEARING NONE WE HAVE. I KIND OF SKIPPED AHEAD A LITTLE BIT THERE BUT ON UNFINISHED BUSINESS I DON'T BELIEVE WE HAVE ANY UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT I'M NOT AWARE OF PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
BUT AS ANYBODY I JUST JUST SPEAK UP AND LET US THERE'S ANY UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
ALL RIGHT. HEARING NONE WE'LL MOVE ON TO NEW BUSINESS.
[9. NEW BUSINESS – JON REMBOLD]
NO ONE ON THE NEW BUSINESS SIDE WOULD BE THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND AS IN YEARS PAST. WE'RE DOING THE SAME THING WHAT WE HAD DONE BEFORE WHICH HOWARD WAS THE CHAIRMAN AND HE WAS FROM SOUTH OF THE BROAD AND HE WOULD BE ON FOR TWO YEARS NOW THE THE NEW CHAIRMAN WOULD BE FROM NORTH OF THE BROAD AND THEN THE VISE CHAIR WE WOULD NEED TO DO WOULD BE SOUTH OF THE BROAD. SO LET'S START WITH THE CHAIRMAN. I'M GOING TO MAKE A MOTION FOR TREY FOR TREY AMBROSE TO BE CHAIRMAN. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER ANYBODY ELSE I'D LIKE TONOMINATE FOR CHAIRMAN? OK WITH THAT I NEED A SEC. >> I THINK NEED A SECOND.
IS THAT CORRECT, JOHN FOR CHAIRMAN? YES.
WE'LL NEED TO SET A SECOND THAT SINCE I DID THE FIRST ON THAT I GOT INTO THE SECOND JIMBO IN THERE AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU, JIM . SO WE'D LIKE TO GO AHEAD AND VOTE ON THAT. YEAH, GO AHEAD, JIM. I'M SORRY.
>> NOTHING. >> ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU.
SO ANYBODY WANT. LET'S GO AHEAD AND VOTE ON THAT SINCE WE HAVE A SECOND FOR TREY AMBROSE. ALL IN FAVOR SAY I OR WAVE YOUR HAND UP.
>> ANYONE OPPOSED? PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND. HEARING NONE POSED.
IS THERE ANY ANY ABSTENTION THING NOW? ABSTENTIONS.
THEN TREY AMBROSE WILL BE THE NEXT CHAIRMAN FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS.
WE'LL MOVE ON TO THE NEXT BE VISE CHAIRMAN OR THE VISE CHAIRMAN ONCE AGAIN S WOULD NEED TO BE SOUTH OF THE BROAD. HOWARD HAS TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD BE WILLING TO DO THE VISE CHAIRMAN ON THAT WHICH I WOULD MAKE A MOTION FOR AND WOULD NEED A SECOND AND I WOULD ALSO LEAVE THAT OUT THAT WE CAN ALSO IF ANYBODY ELSE WOULD LIKE TO DO THAT HE HAD SAID HIS POSITION WAS IF NO ONE NO ONE ELSE WANTED TO DO IT, HE WOULD DO IT.
SO MAYBE IT'D BE BETTER LET ME BACK UP AND SAY IS THERE ANYONE FROM SOUTH OF THE BROAD THAT WOULD LIKE TO BE VISE CHAIRMAN FIRST? OK.
SOUNDS LIKE BUY BUT I DON'T KNOW. STEPH HOWARD IS STEPPING FORWARD OR EVERYONE IS STEPPING BACK BUT I WILL NOW NOMINATE HOWARD FOR VISE CHAIRMAN GOING
FORWARD. COULD I GET A SECOND ON THAT? >> OK.
WE'VE GOT A SECOND ON THAT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. AT AND SO WE WILL VOTE ON THAT.
ALL IN FAVOR PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND OR SAY I I I THINK THAT'S A OKAY.
[00:35:03]
I BELIEVE EVERYBODY WAS ON THERE AS SO I THINK IT'S UNANIMOUS.I DON'T BELIEVE THERE'S ANY NAY VOTES SO I WILL PASS THAT GOOD NEWS ON TO HOWARD AND LET HIM KNOW THAT. AND SO THAT WILL CONCLUDE FOR OUR NEW BUSINESS UNLESS THERE'S ANY OTHER NEW BUSINESS OUT THERE. ANYONE OK? NOT HAVING ANY MOVED BACK TO THE CITIZEN COMMENT PERIOD FOR THREE MINUTES.
THERE ANYONE ELSE THAT WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A COMMENT ON ANYTHING ON THE PUBLIC HAVING NONE. WE WILL MOVE ON AS A REMINDER FOR OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE
[13. THE NEXT VIRTUAL MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, MAY 20, 2021, 1:30 PM. FOR MORE INFO, PLEASE CLICK HERE:]
MAY 20TH. JOHN, ANY IDEA WE'RE GOING TO BE.WE DON'T KNOW WHETHER VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON CORRECT YET? I DON'T KNOW.
YEAH, JUST KIND OF STAY TUNED ON THAT AND WE'LL KIND OF SEE HOW IT SHAPES UP.
IT LOOKS LIKE THERE'S BEEN SOME DYNAMICS IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS THIS WEEK AFTER THIS DEVASTATING BLAST.
