[7. TSA GUEST SPEAKER ]

SEQUENCE JOHN. I'LL TAKE OVER IN JUST A MINUTE.

WE HAVE A GUEST SPEAKER TODAY, DAVID. I BELIEVE IT'S MCMANN FROM TSA WHO WAS ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE BOARD. AND JOHN, IF YOU WOULD TAKE OFF FROM HERE AND INTRODUCE OUR GUESTS AND TELL THE BOARD MEMBERS WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT

. >> SURE. WELCOME TO THE JANUARY BOARD

MEETING. >> HAPPY NEW EVERYBODY. AND I LIKE HOWARD SAID WE DO HAVE DAVID MCMANN WHO'S OUR FEDERAL SECURITY DIRECTOR FOR TSA.

DAVID IS STATION IN THE CHARLESTON OFFICE AND HE SERVES THE ENTIRE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA AS FAR AS OUR COMMERCIAL AIRPORTS GO AND TSA FUNCTIONS AND AT THE RISK OF STEALING TOO MUCH OF THIS THUNDER, I'M GOING TO LET HIM TAKE OVER FROM HERE.

BUT I THINK HE WANTS TO GIVE YOU A BIT OF AN UPDATE AS FAR AS WHAT'S GOING ON WITH TSA AND THEN LOTS TIME FOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM YOU IF YOU'VE GOT ANY QUESTIONS OF HIM READ TSA OPERATIONS. SO I WILL LET YOU TAKE IT AWAY, DAVID.

>> ALL RIGHT. CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME? YES, I CAN GET ME JOHN.

EXCELLENT. SO GOOD AFTERNOON, EVERYONE. AGAIN, YOU KNOW MY NAME IS DAVE MCMANN. I'M THE FEDERAL SECURITY DIRECTOR FOR TSA HERE IN SOUTH CAROLINA. I HAVE SIX AIRPORTS. JUST BRIEFLY, I'VE BEEN WITH

[00:05:02]

TSA 18 AND A HALF YEARS PRIOR TO THAT I WAS A CIVILIAN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER FOR A LITTLE BIT OVER FOUR YEARS AND THEN TWELVE YEARS U.S. ARMY SERVING IN CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS, LAW ENFORCEMENT AND LITTLE SWAT SNIPER WORK AND INSTRUCTOR WORK.

SO WHY AM I HERE TODAY? TWOFOLD REALLY THE ASPECT IS IN MY PREVIOUS LOCATION AND I'VE ALWAYS LIKE TO TRY AND PROVIDE AN ANNUAL UPDATE OF A KIND OF WHAT DID WE HAVE BEHIND US AND WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT IN FRONT OF US? AND SO GETTING IN FRONT OF THIS AUDIENCE HERE JUST GIVES YOU A LITTLE BIT OF A SNAPSHOT, PROVIDE YOU A CONNECTION WITH ME AND THEN ALLOWS FOR OPPORTUNITY THE FUTURE THAT AS THINGS ARISE THAT WE CAN EVALUATE. SO FIRST FOREMOST I AM FROM SOUTH CAROLINA 34 YEARS RETURNING HERE FROM GROWTH AREA . AND I WILL TELL YOU THAT THE RELATION SHIP THAT MY TEAM AND MORE DIRECTLY MYSELF AND JOHN HAVE IS EXTREMELY STRONG.

HE IS VERY PROACTIVE IN ADDRESSING ITEMS THAT COME UP WITHIN THE TSA SPECTRUM.

AND I THINK PROBABLY THE BEST EXAMPLE OF THAT IS THIS PROJECT THAT WE HAVE IN FRONT OF US OF EXPANDING THE AIRPORT WHICH IN TURN WILL EXPAND THE CHECKPOINT FROM ONE LANE CHECKPOINT TO A TWO LANE CHECKPOINT AND REALLY OFFER A LOT OF GREAT AMENITIES AND TECHNOLOGY FOR THE HILTON HEAD PASSENGER YEARS AS WELL AS ALL OF US THAT GET TO COME DOWN THERE AND ENJOY. SO 20, 20 I GUESS THERE'S REALLY ONLY ONE THING TO SAY ABOUT IT. IT WAS COVE IT INFESTED AND IT WASN'T A FUN YEAR FOR ANYBODY.

NATION WIDE. HOWEVER WITHIN THAT I WANT JUST SHARED WITH YOU THAT WHAT ALLOWED US TO DO IN TSA FIRST AND FOREMOST I DIDN'T HAVE MY FIRST CASE OF A OFFICER WITH

CODED INTEL TWO WEEKS AGO. >> SO I THINK THAT A GREAT EXAMPLE TO THE CLEANLINESS BOTH BY THE AIRPORT AND BY MY FOLKS TO ENSURE WE STAYED HEALTHY THROUGHOUT THE PAST 10 MONTHS OF THIS PANDEMIC IN ADDITION AND ALSO ALLOWED US AS AN AGENCY TO LOOK AT PROTECTIVE BARRIERS AND JUST RECENTLY IN THIS PAST MONTH WE WERE ABLE TO PROCURE BARRIERS PLEXIGLASS THAT PROVIDE SOME PROTECTION BETWEEN THE PASSENGERS AND THE OFFICER AND VISE VERSA.

AND THEN OF COURSE YOU SEE THE REGULAR PROTECTIVE BARRIERS AND THE EQUIPMENT THAT IS BEING WORN BY MY OFFICERS THERE IN HILTON HEAD. SO THAT'S A REAL BRIEF SNAPSHOT OF THE PAST. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT FOR THE FUTURE? WHAT WOULD THE EXPANSION OF OF THE AIRPORT IN AND THE CHECK POINT AND ALL OF THAT REDESIGN THAT THAT IS GOING TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SOME OF OUR NEWEST TECHNOLOGY AND ONE OF THE PIECES OF EQUIPMENT IS CALLED A C.T. X RAY. AND JUST AS IF YOU'VE BEEN TO THE MEDICAL APPOINTMENT AND YOU'VE HAD TO HAVE A C.T. SCAN DONE THIS SAME TOMOGRAPHY THAT IS OCCURRING IN AN X RAY ON THE CARRY ON BAGGAGE AND WHAT IT WILL ALLOW US TO DO IS KEEP THE CONTENTS OF THAT CARRY ON BAG INSIDE THE BAG SO YOU WON'T HAVE TO DIVEST LIQUIDS AND PULL OUT DIFFERENT ITEMS LIKE BABY MILK AND DIFFERENT CONTAINERS THAT MAY NEED ADDITIONAL SCREENING. WE'RE ACTUALLY ABLE TO LOOK THOSE ITEMS WITHIN THE BAG, PULL THOSE ITEMS THROUGH IMAGERY, IMAGERY, TECHNOLOGY AND 3-D THOSE ITEMS TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE NOTHING PROHIBITED IN THERE THAT WE DON'T WANT ON .

SO THAT'S ONE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY THAT'S OUT THERE AND THEN ANOTHER PIECE THAT WE'LL PROBABLY GET WITHIN THE NEXT I'M GOING TO SAY NEXT SIX ON GIVE MYSELF A LITTLE LEEWAY BUT THAT IS OUR CREDENTIALS AUTHENTICATION TECHNOLOGY OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CAT.

AND WHAT THAT ALLOWS FOR IS WE WILL NO LONGER BE LOOKING AT PUTTING PASSES.

WE WILL HAVE THE PASSENGER INSERT THEIR ID OR THEIR PASSPORT AND WE WILL BE ABLE TO

[00:10:02]

READ ALL OF THEIR FLIGHT ITINERARY INFORMATION AND ALL THE NECESSARY SECURITY ELEMENTS THAT WE NEED TO LOOK FOR. WE'LL BE ABLE TO READ THAT ON A SCREEN.

WE'LL NEVER HAVE TO TOUCH THE BOARDING PASS OR THE DRIVER'S LICENSE OR ANY OF THAT.

SO WE'RE REALLY EXCITED FOR THAT BECAUSE IT AGAIN JUST SO HAPPENS THE FALL IN PLAY WITH ALL OF THIS PANDEMIC AND TRYING TO REDUCE THOSE OPPORTUNITIES WHERE YOU'RE GETTING IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH SOMEBODY. SO THOSE ARE THE TWO MAJOR ITEMS THAT WE CAN PROBABLY FORESEE AT HILTON HEAD IN THIS COMING YEAR. THE C.T. X RAY MAY GO INTO 2022 BUT ONCE I GET MORE DETAILS I'LL LET LET JOHN KNOW THAT. SO THAT'S REALLY A SNAPSHOT.

I KNOW YOU GUYS GAVE ME ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO HANDLE IT BUT I'LL NOW AT THIS POINT OPEN IT UP IF ANYBODY HAS ANY QUESTIONS OR MAYBE THEY'VE SEEN SOMETHING SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT I DIDN'T

COVER . >> SO JOHN OR CHAIRMAN ACKERMAN BACK TO EITHER ONE OF YOU IF ANYBODY HAS ANY QUESTIONS FOR BIAS, IT SEEMS TO BE ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT TODAY.

>> IF THAT'S NORMALLY NOT THE CASE WITH THIS GROUP BUT THE OUR BEST BEHAVIOR TODAY.

SO LESLIE, GO AHEAD. CAME HERE AS LESLIE I THINK YOU HAVE TO MOVE YOUR MIKE.

>> NO, I CAN'T DO IT. IT WON'T LET ME ON ME. THERE WE GO.

OH, NO, NO. LET ME TOUCH ANYTHING. SORRY.

SORRY, DAVID. JUST SO YOU DON'T THINK WE'RE TOO QUIET? I JUST HAVE A BASIC QUESTION. YOU KNOW, IN SOUTH CAROLINA THE DRIVER'S LICENSE AUTHENTIC NATION HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR THE STATE IN THE PAST AND THEY'RE KIND OF BEHIND IN GETTING EVERYBODY TO IT. ARE YOU TSA SEEING ANY PROBLEM WITH THAT AT YOUR AIRPORTS TURNING PEOPLE AWAY? SO SO YOUR REFERENCING THEY GETTING THE REAL I.D.?

>> YES. INTACT THOUGH IRONICALLY ENOUGH I MEET MONTHLY WITH KEVIN CHOUINARD WHO IS THE SOUTH CAROLINA DMV DIRECTOR AND WE HAVE UNTIL OCTOBER 1ST OF THIS YEAR TO GET AS MUCH AS OUR POPULATION HERE IN SOUTH CAROLINA TO GET THEIR REAL I.D.

THERE ARE SOME INTERESTING NUMBERS OUT THERE IN THAT HE IS SHOWING ABOUT A 30 PERCENT NO

SHOW FOR THEIR APPOINTMENTS. >> AND AT THIS POINT THE WAY EVERYTHING IS GOING WE EXPECT IN SOUTH CAROLINA THAT THEY'LL ONLY BE ABOUT 46 PERCENT OF THE POPULATION WITH REAL I.D..

SO THAT ALL BEING SAID WE ARE GOING TO WORK ON SOME MEDIA BLITZ IS COMING NEXT MONTH AND WE'RE WAITING ON SOME LARGEST SLATE OF MATERIAL TO COME OUT OF CONGRESS THAT WILL GIVE WITHOUT GOING INTO DETAIL. IT SHOULD GIVE US THE ABILITY TO SIMPLIFY THE PROCESS TO GET A REAL I.D. AND IT'LL BE UTILIZING OTHER FUNCTIONS. AND SO ONCE THAT GETS ANNOUNCED WE PLAN ON DOING A MEDIA BLITZ TOGETHER THROUGHOUT THE VARIOUS COMMUNITIES TO TRY AND DRIVE UP THE POPULATION RATE FOR REAL I.D. BUT THAT DATA 1 OCTOBER DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A DATE THAT'S GOING TO MOVE AND AT THAT POINT THERE WILL BE SOME STRUGGLES THERE.

WE JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S GOING TO LOOK LIKE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF HOW THE VACCINE IS COMING ALONG AND IS STILL DEALING WITH CODED TRAVEL BACK .

SO THERE'S SEVERAL ANOMALIES IN FRONT THAT WHERE WE'RE TRYING TO GAGE BUT REALLY DON'T HAVE A

GOOD METER ON AT THIS POINT. >> THANK YOU. I HAVE A FOLLOW UP.

THAT WAS HOW TO DAVID THE REAL I.D.. THERE'LL STILL BE A PORTION OF THE POPULATION THAT WILL FAIL TO HEED THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE WARNING WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THEM AS THEY SHOW UP THE REPORT WITHOUT A REAL I.D. OR WITHOUT A PASSPORT ASSUMING

THEY'RE JUST TRAVELING DOMESTIC ? >> YEAH.

AS IT STANDS TODAY IT WILL NOT FLY. >> SO THAT SOUNDS PRETTY HARSH

[00:15:06]

AND I FULLY EXPECT THAT WE'RE GOING TO GET SOME ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE ON DOING WAIVERS OR ADJUSTMENTS OR WE MAY END UP DOING ADDITIONAL SCREENING ON THOSE INDIVIDUALS.

SO THAT'S KIND OF PURE SPECULATION RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THERE'S JUST A LOT MORE FOCUS ON THE COVE . IT VACCINATION THAN THERE IS ON REAL I.D. RIGHT NOW.

SO UNTIL WE GET CLOSER TO KIND OF CHANGE SOME OF THAT MOMENTUM ,I DON'T I REALLY CAN'T GIVE YOU A REAL FIRM. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO IF YOU SHOW UP AND YOU DON'T HAVE A REAL I.D. OR A PASSPORT. BUT I JUST HAVE A FOLLOW UP WITH A NEW CREDENTIALING SYSTEM WILL BE ABLE TO REACH THOSE THAT DO HAVE THE REAL I.D. AND PROVIDE ALL THE BENEFITS THAT YOU JUST DESCRIBED A FEW MINUTES AGO.

>> ABSOLUTELY. CAN DRIVE YOUR STATUS VERY THICK.

THAT'S I'M SORRY, SIR. >> GO AHEAD. I'M SORRY I INTERRUPTED.

>> NO, I WAS JUST TO SAY HERE IN SOUTH CAROLINA IN AIRPORTS THAT WE DO HAVE IT IN IT'S BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL REALLY ACTUALLY IN IDENTIFYING OLDER ERROR PASSPORTS THAT DON'T HAVE SOME OF THE UPDATED SECURITY FEATURES AND IF IT HAS THE ABILITY TO FLAG THEM AND THEN WE GO THROUGH EACH ONE OF THOSE FLAGS TO TRY AND CLEAR THEM OUT.

>> SO WITH THE REAL I.D. IT'LL BE IT SHOULD BE THAT MUCH MORE EFFICIENT.

>> AND HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK? >> HOW DOES THE REAL I.D. TIE

INTO A PERSON'S PASSPORT AND FLIGHT INFORMATION? >> YEAH.

SO IT'S A IT'S A IT'S AN ID BASE OF WHERE MORE MATCHING THE PERSON'S INFORMATION AND SO YOU'RE MATCHING UP THAT NAME WERE LINKED IN TO THE AIRLINE SYSTEM.

AND IT BASICALLY GOES DOWN UNTIL IT FINDS THAT FILTER AND SAYS OH, DAVID MCMANN, HE'S FLYING TO REAGAN NATIONAL TODAY. HERE'S HIS DEPARTURE.

HERE'S HIS FLIGHT AND THEN IT WILL LIST OUT BASIC INFORMATION AND ALL WE SIMPLY DO AT THAT POINT IS IF IT SAYS EVERYTHING IS GOOD AND IT VALIDATES THAT THEN WE'RE JUST LOOKING AT THE FACE AND MAKE SURE THAT THE FACE SETS ON THE PICTURE THAT WE SHOW ON THE SCREEN MATCHES

THE PERSON THAT'S IN FRONT OF US. >> BUT IT'S A LITERALLY A IF YOU GET A CHANCE AND YOU'RE UP IN THE CHARLESTON AREA AND MAYBE EVEN FLYING OUT YOU'LL GET EXPOSED TO IT. CHARLESTON WAS ONE OF OUR FIRST AIRPORTS IN SOUTH CAROLINA TO RECEIVE IT LOOKS LIKE ANY OF THE QUESTIONS FOR BOARD MEMBERS I ASKED.

>> WE GO WHERE DID WHAT? WHAT'S THE STATUS OF ME? I'M SORRY.

I JUST SAID THE WHAT'S THE STATUS OF EXPLANATIONS OF THOSE AND OKATIE AND I GOT SOME AIR GOING IN THERE BUT YOU WERE ASKING ABOUT KNOWN TRAVELERS, GRAYSON WE ARE YOU KNOW,

TRAVELERS. >> OH YES. ON MOBILE ONE WITH A YOU.

>> I'M SORRY THAT WAS NOT QUITE AUDIBLE. ARE YOU WILLING TO PHONE YOU'RE ON YOUR COMPUTER. HE SHOULD BE ON ONLY ONE. THAT'S WHAT'S CAUSING THE FAA

MORE THAN LINE BECAUSE THE COMPUTER'S NOT WORKING. >> ALL RIGHT.

>> WANT ONE WOULD BE REALLY HARD TO HEAR IT, JOHN, IF YOU CAN GET THAT QUESTION OVER TO JOHN RUMBLED AND HE'LL GET IN MY DIRECTION. I'LL GET AN ANSWER BACK FOR YOU . THANK YOU. YES, SIR.

ALL RIGHT, BRIAN, THANK YOU. WE'RE ALSO YEAH, WE JUST A FOLLOW UP TO THE NEW RECOGNITION SYSTEM, THE CAT SYSTEM I THINK YOU CALL THAT DOES A LOT OF FOLKS THAT ARE NOW ENROLLED IN PRE TSA AND OTHER SORTS OF SERVICES CAN BE PRESCREENED BEFORE YOU GO TO THE AIRPORT. IS THIS NEW SYSTEM GOING TO ENHANCE AND RECOGNIZE THAT AS WELL OR HOW DOES THAT WORK? YEAH, IT WILL IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE A PRE CHECK PASSENGER.

SO WHEN YOU GO TO THAT PRE CHECK LANE IN A POP UP AND I'LL SAY YOU'RE PRE CHECK AND YOU'LL GET ALL THE EXPEDITED SERVICES THAT COME WITH THAT AND WITH ENTITY AND PREFECT IT SOUNDS

[00:20:02]

LIKE THIS SYSTEM HAS FACIAL RECOGNITION IN IT AS WELL AND SO WOULD THAT IN ANY POINT IN TIME REPLACE THE NEED FOR A PICTURE I.D. AT THIS POINT WHAT IT IS ACTUALLY SHOWING THE OFFICER IS THE I.D. THAT'S ON THE DRIVER'S LICENSE OR PASSPORT THAT WAS PRESENTED THAT THAT BEING SAID, THERE IS TECHNOLOGY IN THE WORKS FOR FACIAL RECOGNITION.

>> AND I KNOW IT'S BEEN PILOTED QUITE A BIT BY CBP BUT HOPEFULLY WILL A SYSTEM THAT ANY WAY TIE IT TO CUSTOMS AND IMMIGRATION FOR PASSENGERS RETURNING FROM OVERSEAS?

>> AT THIS POINT IT IS NOT. BUT THAT'S NOT TO SAY THAT IN THE FUTURE THEY MAY BE ABLE TO TIE IN DEPENDING ON WHERE IT'S WHERE IT'S AT IF IT'S AT A PORT OF ENTRY THAT IT'S BEING UTILIZED AT JIM. HEY, YOU WANT TO TRY AGAIN? NO, JIM, SORRY.

THAT'S MY NAME. >> JIM, IF YOU CAN E-MAIL. E-MAIL.

JOHN, IF YOU'VE BEEN E-MAILING ME A QUESTION. IF WE CATCH IT BEFORE THE END OF THE SESSION, I THINK JOHN CAN FORWARD THE QUESTION ON TO DAVID FOR AN ANSWER.

OK. ANYBODY ELSE WITH ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS FOR DAVID?

>> ALL RIGHT. >> HEARING NONE. DAVID, WE THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TAKING TIME TO DO BUSINESS WITH US TODAY. VERY INFORMATIVE.

SOME VERY EXCITING STUFF COMING DOWN THE PIKE AND I COULD PROBABLY JOIN IT AND AGAIN I'M ALWAYS, ALWAYS AVAILABLE IF SOMETHING COMES UP IN THE COMMUNITY I TRY TO GET OUT AND KIND OF BE THE CHEERLEADER FOR MY WORKFORCE THROUGHOUT THE STATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

SO I THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THIS OPPORTUNITY. YOU'LL ALL BE WELL AND STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY. OK, THANKS AGAIN FOR THE TIME AND YOU KNOW YOU'RE WELCOME TO HANG AROUND. IF YOU'D LIKE AND LISTEN TO THE REST OF OUR MEETING.

SO WITH THAT WE'LL GO BACK TO JOHN NOW FOR OUR DIRECTOR'S REPORT AND REMIND YOU AGAIN THAT WHILE JOHN IS SPEAKING, IF YOU'LL PLEASE NEWT YOUR MICROPHONE SO HE CAN SPEAK WITHOUT INTERRUPTION. THAT WOULD BE OUTSTANDING JOHN. ALL RIGHT.

WELL, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. AND AGAIN, DAVID, IF YOU'RE STILL HANGING ON THERE, I APPRECIATE YOU BEING HERE. AND AGAIN, DON'T FEEL OBLIGATED TO SIT THROUGH THE REST OF US I GUESS REALLY CATCH YOU UP IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR US. THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE.

JIM, I WANT TO APOLOGIZE. I CAN FIGURE OUT WHICH PHONE CALL IN PERSON YOU ARE.

I CAN. ON MEET YOUR PHONE AND THEN LEAVE YOUR SCREEN MUTED BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WAS YOU HAD BOTH OF THEM ON MUTED AND IT JUST DIDN'T WORK IN THAT WAY.

SO SOMEHOW WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY WHICH WHICH CALLER YOU ARE AND WE DID MEET YOU ON YOUR PHONE AND JUST LEAVE YOUR SCREEN NUDES OF I APOLOGIZE FOR THAT BUT MAYBE YOU NEED TO GET INTO YOUR BUDGET FOR A NEW COMPUTER NEXT YEAR OR THIS YEAR MAYBE I'LL SIGN OFF ON THAT ONE

[8. DIRECTOR’S REPORT]

FOR AGENT. >> ALL RIGHT. I'M GOING TO SHARE MY SCREEN.

GOT SOME SLIDES I WANT TO SHOW YOU. SO STAND BY FOR THAT.

ALL RIGHT. WHEREBY YOU WILL SEE A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION COME UP

RIBAUT SEE THAT? >> EXCELLENT. OK, ALL RIGHT.

SO LET'S START TALKING ABOUT SOME WINS. WE TALKED ABOUT 2020 BEING A TOUGH YEAR. DAVID MENTIONED THAT AS WELL. SO TALK ABOUT SOME WINS WITH SOME KEY NEW HIRES THIS YEAR. WE TO START OUT OUR FIRST ONE WAS MARLENE MYERS IS OUR BUSINESS MANAGER FOR BOTH AIRPORTS AND THEN WE HIRED PAUL DOLAN OVER AT AIR.

DEBBIE REPLACED JOEL OVER THERE. AND THAT WAS VERY REFRESHING BECAUSE WE HAD A GAP OF A FEW MONTHS AND THEN WE HIRED STEVE PERRY AS OUR NEW DEPUTY SPORTS DIRECTOR. AND THEN WE WE HAD RENE RETIRE AND SO WE REPLACED RENE WAS WITH BILL WASSER AND CAME OVER TO US FROM THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND THAT'S HOWARD'S REMINDER TO PICK UP THE BREAD AND MILK THIS AFTERNOON. NO FORGET.

OKAY. AND THEN WE HIRED AN ASSISTANT FOR BILL BECAUSE THAT SECURITY POSITION REALLY REQUIRES TWO PEOPLE I THINK WE TALKED ABOUT IT AT THE LAST MEETING WERE IN THE INTERVIEW PROCESS SO WE HIRED CRAIG WEBER FOR HIM. AND CRAIG'S ANOTHER GENTLEMAN

[00:25:03]

WITH EXTENSIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT BACKGROUND. >> SO HE'S A GREAT, GREAT DEPUTY TO BILL NO PUN INTENDED THERE. AND THEN WE ALSO HIRED ANOTHER MEMBER OF OUR MAINTENANCE TEAM. HE'S ACTUALLY A FORMER EMPLOYEE UP IN THE AIRCRAFT AREA AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER. VERY, VERY SAVVY, HANDY MAN AND HE'S HAD A LOT OF FUN.

I THINK JOIN IN THE MAINTENANCE TEAM AND HE'S BEEN VERY PRESENT.

SO IF YOU'RE AROUND IN ABOUT THE AIRPORT, YOUR POLICY BRANDON UP UP HE'S BEEN ALL OVER THE PLACE DOING A LOT OF WORK FOR. SO HAVING A FEW EXTRA HANDS IS IT REALLY, REALLY HELPED SO THAT THAT'S A BIG WIN. YOU KNOW, MOST PEOPLE WERE HAVING TROUBLE WITH WORKFORCE AND WE ADDED TO OUR SO WE'RE PRETTY PROUD OF THAT.

SECOND ONE IS A NEW WEBSITE FOR A RW THAT HAPPENED EARLY IN THE SUMMER AND THAT'S UP.

WE KEEP THAT UP TO DATE ALL FUEL PRICES AND IN EVERY ALL THE DIFFERENT SERVICES OFFERED OVER THERE WERE SOME GREAT AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE FACILITY AND THAT KIND OF THING. SO THAT WAS A GOOD ONE. WE HAD OPEN HOUSE UP RW AND IN AUGUST AND WE HAD A FIVE RUN ON THE RUNWAY AND WE INTEND TO DO THAT AGAIN THIS SUMMER BUT IT WAS A NEW EVENT. WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

WE'LL KEEP AN EYE ON MAN BACK UP THERE. W WE RENAMED IT TO THE EXECUTIVE AND THAT'S WHAT'S ON I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE ENJOYED THAT.

IT'S STILL DIFFERENT TO ME WHEN I'M IN THAT AIRPORT AND I HEAR THE RADIO CALLS COMING IN FOR ME FOR EXECUTIVES STILL STILL TURNS MY HEAD TO THAT'S IT. THAT'S A FUNNY THING.

OVER AT HILTON HEAD WE HAVE A NEW I HAVE AN OFFICE IT'S GOT A NEW OLD OFFICE BUILDING.

IT WAS REPURPOSED AND TRANSFORMED INTO BOTH OUR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE AND OUR BADGING AND SECURITY HEADQUARTERS. SO IF YOU'VE BEEN IN HERE TO GET YOUR BADGE RENEWED OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, THEN YOU KNOW WHERE WE ARE.

AND YOU'VE BEEN ABLE TO SEE THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING. AND INCIDENTALLY FUNNY STORY I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S STILL THERE BUT DAVE CAME BY IN THE SUMMERTIME FOR ONE OF HIS PERIOD VISITS TO CATCH UP WITH ME AND IT WAS A DAY BEFORE WE'RE HAVING THIS ADMIN BUILDING REPAINTED AND IT WAS PRETTY HUMBLE LOOKING BEFORE IT GOT REPAINTED.

I WILL TELL YOU IS THE TAJ MAHAL NOW BUT IT WAS A MORE HUMBLE EARLY IN THE SUMMERTIME AND DAVE DAVE WALKED IN AND HE SAID I'M REALLY GLAD I CAME TODAY AND THAT'S WHAT WAS AT ISSUE. BECAUSE I'M GOING TO TELL EVERY OTHER AIRPORT DIRECTOR IN THE STATE WHEN THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT THEIR FACILITY THEY JUST NEED TO SEE YOUR PLACE.

THIS IS IT. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYBODY DO MORE WITH LESS.

AND I SAID, DAVID, THAT'S BECAUSE I CAME FROM THE MARINE AND THAT'S WHAT WE DO.

SO ANYHOW, I THINK EVERYBODY CAN FEEL GRT REVENUES BEING PUT TO GOOD USE IF THEY LEVERAGE AS FAR AS IT CAN BE. BUT HEY, IT'S PRETTY NICE DIGS OVER HERE. IT'S A TRAILER THAT WE'RE IN FOR A YEAR OR SO.

>> OKAY. AND THEN THREE NEW AMERICAN AIRLINES SEASONAL RIDES WE HAD THIS PAST YEAR. YOU REMEMBER WE DID BRING BACK DCA WHICH HAVE BEEN GONE FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT WE ADDED DALLAS, FORT WORTH, PHILADELPHIA AND CHICAGO.

NOW PHILLY WAS NOT NOT REAL HOT THIS SUMMER JUST BECAUSE OF COVID, BUT WE'RE HOPING THAT EVERYTHING COMES BACK. EVERYTHING WITH THE AIRLINES IS STILL YOU KNOW, IT'S IN FLUX ALL THE TIME, YOU KNOW WHO'S COME A WIN AND AND THAT'S WHERE WE'RE KIND OF WAITING ALL THE FINAL WORD. BUT WE'RE VERY HOPEFUL THAT ALL ABOUT COME BACK AS IT DID LAST YEAR. SO I WANT TO START OUT SOME WINS BECAUSE NOT EVERYTHING ABOUT 2020 WAS BACK THERE. A LOT OF BRIGHT SPOTS AND THAT'S WHAT WE'RE FOCUSING ON THAT ROLL INTO 2021. SO LET'S TALK ABOUT BEFORE EXECUTIVE.

I THINK WE STILL HAVE PAUL ON THE LINE. SO I WILL AS I GET THROUGH THESE BULLET POINTS AND IT'S GOING TO PASS FOR A MINUTE AND SEE IF HE'S GOING TO ADD SO BUDGET. WE'LL TALK ABOUT THIS AT BOTH AIRPORTS VERY BRIEFLY BUT WE HAVE A MEETING LAST I THINK WAS LAST WEEK TALKING ABOUT THE BUDGET AND WE'LL HAVE SOME MORE DETAIL TO THAT BUDGET COMMITTEE SOON SO THAT WE CAN PROCEED WITH THAT AND HAVE THE BUDGET COMPLETED EARLY THIS YEAR. OUR GOAL IS TO HAVE IT FINISHED AND INTO YOU FOR APPROVAL IN THE MARCH MEETING. SO THAT'S WE'RE SHOOTING FOR LUNCH AND GET SOME KIND OF CURVE BALL FROM MY COUNTY FINANCE. THAT'S OUR GOAL WILL BE AT LEASES WOULD BE FOR EXECUTIVE. THOSE ARE THEY WERE ADVERTISED BACK IN LATE NOVEMBER OR EARLY DECEMBER. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL PARTIES INTERESTED IN THAT AND WE'RE GETTING SOME APPLICATIONS ON THOSE AT BEST. GET A COUPLE OF SITE VISITS TOMORROW. SO WE ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT SEEING SOME PROGRESS OUT THERE W4 SO MY HANGAR DEVELOPMENT OUT THERE. WE DO HAVE THE BREAKFAST CLUB COMING THE SOUTH CAROLINA BREAKFAST CLUB AT SUPER BOWL SUNDAY FEBRUARY THE 7TH.

SO YOU'RE GOING BEATEN LIKE CRAZY THAT DAY ANYWAY YOU MIGHT AS WELL COME UP TO AIR W FLY IN AND GET A GREAT BREAKFAST ON THE 7TH. WE HAVE A LOW COUNTRY PRODUCE FROM DOWNTOWN BEFORE IS GOING TO BE PROVIDING THE FOOD SO THEY'LL BE EXCELLENT FOOD THERE AND YOU CAN'T FELLOWSHIP ON THE AIRPORT AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING SOME OF THEIR AND THEN EACH TAX. WE DID APPLY THIS YEAR FOR EACH TAX FUNDS KIND OF LIKE A TAX.

[00:30:04]

EACH TAX IS HOSPITALITY TAX. SO IF YOU GO OUT A RESTAURANT THIS IS A TAX ON ANY PREPARED FOOD AND YOUR BEVERAGES THAT ARE SERVED IN A RESTAURANT AND THERE'S A VAT TAX GETS COLLECTED AND THEN ALLOCATED DIFFERENT AGENCIES AND ENTITIES NONPROFITS, PEOPLE LIKE US WHO CAN THEN TURN THOSE MONEY, THOSE FUNDS INTO THE FUEL BASICALLY TO BRING IN TO ATTRACT AND ENTERTAIN THE TOURIST INDUSTRY THAT WILL BUILD MORE OF THOSE FUNDS, INCREASE ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN THE COUNTY. SO WE APPLIED FOR THOSE FUNDS AND THE GOAL AT AIR W IS TO USE THOSE FUNDS TO MAKE SOME OF THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT YOU SAW.

PAUL PRESENT BACK IN IN NOVEMBER AT THAT BOARD MEETING .

SO AT THIS POINT I'M JUST GOING TO HANG TIGHT. I CAN'T SEE EVERYBODY NOW BECAUSE I AM ON MY SCREEN CHANGE AROUND SO. PAUL, IF YOU ARE THERE AND HAVE ANYTHING AT ALL, LET YOU JUMP IN. NOT SURE IF WE GET PAUL WE MIGHT NOT HAVE. HE'S STILL THERE. PAUL, ARE YOU THERE?

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING THAT. >> NO, I THINK YOU'VE JUST ABOUT COVERED EVERYTHING.

>> LIKE I SAID THAT LIKE YOU MENTIONED THE HANGAR DEVELOPMENT IS EXTREMELY EXCITING. WE HAVE A LOT OF INTERESTED PARTIES.

WE TAKE PHONE CALLS ON IT EVERY DAY. AND NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE PEOPLE COMING ON FRIDAY WITH THEIR STORY, THERE'S A GUY FLYING IN ON SATURDAY AS WELL WHO'S INTERESTED IN BUILDING A HANGAR. SO THIS IS SOMETHING I CAN SEE

THAT COULD BE TAKEN OFF VERY SOON. >> WE'LL GET THROUGH ALL OF THESE FLYERS AND I THINK WE'VE GOT A QUESTION WE'LL CIRCLE BACK AROUND FOR FOUR

QUESTIONS. >> ALL RIGHT. SO LET'S MOVE ON TO THE STATS.

YOU HAD THIS IN YOUR REPORT AS WELL IN YOUR PACKAGE. BUT I DO WANT TO HIGHLIGHT WE'VE HAD A HUGE INCREASE IN OUR GAS SALES AND I THINK THERE'S A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT ARE MAKING THAT HAPPEN. NUMBER ONE, BUY THE BIGGEST ITEM IS THAT WE DID AS YOU REMEMBER WE DROPPED THOSE FUEL PRICES IN THE SUMMER JUST ENCOURAGE FLYING AND ACTIVITY AND THAT DEFINITELY WORK. YOU SEE THOSE OF SPIKE WE'VE DONE WELL ON THE VOLUME WITH THAT GAS AND THEN JETS LOOK PRETTY GOOD TO AND SO JET ACTIVITY HAS BEEN PRETTY STRONG . SO OVERALL WE'RE DOING WELL ON FUEL SALES IN NSW AND OPERATIONS ARE DOING GREAT THINGS UP THE FLIGHT SCHOOL THEIR FLIGHT TRAINING PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN VERY, VERY ACTIVE AND IN OUR W.. SO THAT'S ACCOUNTING FOR A HUGE BOOST IN OUR OPERATIONS UP THERE WHICH IS GOOD FOR. AND ALSO IN THOSE FUEL SALES PARTICULARLY THE AFGHAN SALES. SO THOSE ARE STATS THEY MAY HAVE ANYTHING ON AIR BABY BEFORE YOU TRANSITION ACROSS THE WATER TO HELPING OUT IRELAND.

YEAH, YEAH. I JUST ONE BRIAN WAS MARK JOHN .

THIS QUESTION CAME UP BEFORE AND I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'VE HAD TIME TO LOOK AT THE ANSWER AS FAR AS THE AB GAS INCREASED SALES THAT BEAUFORT COUNTY. WE KNOW THAT THE VOLUME IS WAY UP BUT SINCE THE PRICES LOWER DO YOU HAVE ANY NUMBERS TO SUGGEST WHETHER YOU'RE ACTUALLY MAKING MORE MONEY AS A RESULT OF THAT LAG? I CAN TELL YOU WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE KIND OF GOT A BALANCING GOING ON BETWEEN JET AND AB GASES.

THERE'S DIFFERENT PRODUCTION COSTS AND THINGS LIKE THAT FOR THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FUEL.

SO WE'RE DOING IS KIND OF BALANCING THAT OUT BETWEEN THE TWO TO MAKE SURE THAT ON A NET BASIS BETWEEN ALL FUEL SALES AND ALL OF OUR NET ARE BOTH PURCHASES THAT WE ARE STILL COMING OUT OF CONSUMER MANAGING THAT SO THAT WE ARE DEFINITELY REVENUE POSITIVE ON THAT WHEREAS WE MIGHT BE LOW ON ONE AND HIRED ANOTHER AT ANY GIVEN TIME.

BUT WE MANAGE A NET GAIN BY JAI AS HOWARD I AM BUT ALSO A TRAFFIC CANDIDATE.

RW IS INCREDIBLE. IT'S A ADD SOME NUMBERS TO THE MISSING TRAFFIC COUNT BECAUSE WE PUT IN PLACE I THINK WE'RE MORE THAN DOUBLE OUR OPERATIONS ADDING RW AND OIL AND GAS IS TAKEN OFF THE BOOTH AND DOING EXTREMELY WELL. JENNY SEEMS TO BE SOMEWHAT STAGNANT. ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT'S HAPPENING ON THE JET SIDE OF IT

FROM YOU OR FROM SOME OF THE AWP FOLKS? >> WELL I THINK I'D DESCRIBE IT AS STEADY RATHER THAN STAGNANT. IT'S ABOUT THE SAME AS IT WAS BEFORE STATING IT WOULD BE CLOSER TO ZERO THAN WHERE IT IS. SO IT'S ABOUT WHERE WE EXPECT IT. YOU KNOW IT'S NOT TERRIBLY OFF. YOU DO GET SOME HIGHS AND LOWS AND IT DEPENDS WHICH CLIENTS COME IN WHY THAT HAS TO DO WITH EXECUTIVE FLIGHT TRAINING AND WHO THEY'VE GOT IN IN ANY GIVEN MONTH. AND ALSO SOMETIMES IS INFLUENCED BY THE BY THE WEATHER OF ALL THINGS. YOU DO SEE SOME DIPS THERE SOMETIMES SO IT CAN BE A VARIETY OF THINGS. BUT YOU KNOW, I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT IT'S NOT A NOT A SIGNIFICANT DROP. IF YOU LOOK YEAR TO YEAR IT'S

[00:35:02]

ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME. >> OKAY. HEY JOHN, THIS MARK QUESTION ON THE HANGAR DEVELOPMENT AT YOUR FIRST EXECUTIVE, THE HANGARS THAT ARE BEING LOOKED AT.

>> ARE THEY GOING TO BE LIKE FOR ROCK COMPANIES AND FOLKS THAT ARE MOVING OPERATIONS THERE OR THEY'RE GOING TO BE LIKE COMMUNITY HANGARS FOR RENTAL SPACE OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH? OR DO WE KNOW IT'LL BE A COMBINATION OF BOTH?

>> MARK, THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION. WE DO WANT TO SEE A VARIETY OF FOLKS SETTLEMENT HANGARS. THERE'S BEEN INTEREST I'D SAY ACROSS THE SPECTRUM.

SO WE'LL SEE WHO ENDS UP SIGNING ON THE DOTTED LINE. BUT WE DO HAVE INTERESTS ACROSS

THE SPECTRUM. >> ALL RIGHT. ALL RIGHT.

ANYTHING ELSE ON AIR, DEBBIE? WE WILL MOVE ALONG THE HILL. NED, IF I REMEMBER THAT.

BUT WE'RE GOING TO BOSTON FOLKS. WE GOT A CALL LAST WEEK AND WE ARE GETTING THE SEASONAL FLIGHTS TO BOSTON CAN ANYWAY HUM THAT TIM KAINE BY NAME THE ENTIRE CAST BUT A LITTLE BIT ON YOUTUBE AND STUFF AND I ALMOST MISS MEETINGS.

I WAS WATCHING ALL THE CLIPS FROM CHEERS. SO IT'S TAKING YOU BACK TO THE DAYS OF SITTING ON THE COUCH AND MY PARENTS AND WATCHING CHEERS ON THE HILL STREET BLUES. I GUESS THAT MAKES ME OFFICIALLY OLD NOW.

BUT ANYWAY WE'RE SUPER EXCITED. I ALMOST PUT A RED SOX LOGO UP HERE BY NOON.

NOBODY CARES ABOUT THAT WE PUT THERE THAT'S BETTER. NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE SOX.

WE'RE EXCITED IT'S GOING TO GREAT AMERICANS CAN BE FLYING JUST BASICALLY A KIND OF A TWO MONTH TRIAL RUN UP THERE BACK AND FORTH FROM HERE BOSTON AND I THINK THAT THE MAIN GOAL REALLY WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT BEING ABLE TO GET TO BOSTON. BUT I THINK EVEN BIGGER FOR AMERICA IS TRYING TO BRING FOLKS FROM BOSTON TO HILTON ISLAND.

I THINK THERE'S A HUGE DEMAND FOR THAT. AND I TALKED WITH BILL MILES OVER AT THE CHAMBER AND ARIANNA ,TCB IN BOSTON IS ONE OF THE TOP CITIES FOR FOLKS WHO COME TO VISIT HILTON HEAD ISLAND. SO IT'S A GREAT WIN FOR US AGAIN, IS IT? IT'S A TRIAL BALLOON. SO WE'LL SEE HOW THAT GOES. BUT HOPEFULLY THE NUMBERS WILL BE STRONG AND I'LL BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THAT FLIGHT. THAT'S AWARENESS FOR 21, 20, 21. HANG ON TO THAT. RIGHT.

>> RIGHT NOW THE BOSTON DRAW DOWN TO HILTON HEAD OF JETBLUE GOING INTO SAVANNAH.

AND SO I PRESUME THAT THIS IS A STRATEGY TO TRY TO CAPTURE THAT AUDIENCE TO COME DIRECTLY HERE INSTEAD OF SAVANNAH. AM I RIGHT OR WRONG? I HAVE NO IDEA.

BRYAN, THIS I'M TELLING YOU THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT WE HAD ACTIVELY MARKETED WITH AMERICAN AS A SPECIFIC FLIGHT. THIS THIS CAME TO US. SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT AMERICA'S DOING. THEY DO HAVE THAT PARTNERSHIP WITH JETBLUE NOW.

SO I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY HOW THEY'RE THEY'RE MANAGING THEIR DIFFERENT DESTINATIONS AND

THEIR DIFFERENT ROUTES. >> YOU KNOW, JOHN, YOU KNOW, IF IF IF THIS WILL SHOW UP ON TRAVEL SEE SCREENS ONCE FOLKS CHOOSE HILTON HEAD, IT'S A SECOND CHAIR ARRANGEMENT.

WILL THEY BE DIRECTED TO AMERICAN OR IS AMERICAN STRICTLY A STANDALONE SITE? AND JETBLUE CONTINUES TO BE A STANDALONE THAT I DON'T KNOW AS FAR AS THESE BOSTON FLIGHTS ARE

USEFUL. >> YOU KNOW, IF YOU SEARCH UNLESS H H H THEY NEED TO PICK

UP THIS AMERICAN FLIGHT. >> VERY EXCITING. THAT'S GREAT NEWS AGAIN BUDGET.

WE TALKED ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT BUT. I WAS AT WORK ON THE BUDGET AS WELL H TAX WE APPLIED FOR A COUNTY H TAX MONEY TO HOLD THAT ISLAND AS WELL.

YOU KNOW WE GOT A TAX MONEY WITH TANNEHILL THAT ISLAND WHICH IS GREAT AND WE'LL USE THAT FOR OUR OUT MARKET OR INBOUND FOLKS. SO PLACES LIKE BOSTON, YOU KNOW, TWO BIG METRO AREAS WHERE WE'LL BE BUYING ADVERTISING AND RUNNING CAMPAIGNS.

THAT MONEY GOES VERY, VERY QUICKLY OUT THERE. SO WE APPLIED FOR SOME TAX MONEY THROUGH THE COUNTY SO WE CAN AUGMENT SOME OF THE THE LOCAL SPEND THAT WE'VE GOT AS WELL AS SOME SORT OF REBRANDING. MY IDEAS AND MAY COME UP AS WELL. JUST GIVE US THE FLEXIBILITY AND THIS KIND OF FUN WHEN WE'VE GOT A NEW GUEST COMING INTO THE TERMINAL AND THAT'S I WANT TO THIS JUST CAME UP THANKS TO A

CONNECTION MADE BY DAVID AMES. >> I THINK JUST LAST WEEK OR TWO WEEKS AGO HE SENT ME AN EMAIL AND CONNECTED ME WITH SOMEBODY WHO IS INTERESTED IN HAVING A PRESENCE IN THE TERMINAL. AND SO I DON'T KNOW WHEN WE'RE GOING TO START BUT I THINK IT'S WITHIN A FEW WEEKS WE'LL HAVE A NEW A NEW FACE. SO TO SPEAK IN THE TERMINAL AND FACE GOING TO LOOK LIKE A TURTLE. SO THIS IS THIS IS MYRTLE AND MYRTLE IS A TURTLE THAT IF YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH THE BEACHES ON THAT ISLAND YOU PROBABLY HAVE SEEN HER OR HER SISTER. THERE'S ANOTHER ONE THAT LOOKS

[00:40:02]

JUST LIKE HER. THIS ONE IS CALLED LIGHTS OUT LIGHTS OUT FOR MYRTLE AND IT'S A REMINDER FOR FOLKS TO TURN THEIR LIGHTS OUT ON THE SHORELINE TO PROTECT THE SEA TURTLES BABIES AS THEY HATCH HATCH LEADS ME TO GET TO THE WATER AND THE SEE THAT REFLECTED IN THE MOONLIGHT TO MAKE THEIR WAY. BUT THIS IS REALLY EXCITING BECAUSE THE THE FOLKS THIS IS ACTUALLY WAS BROUGHT TO US LIKE I SAID BY BY DAVID AMES.

>> BUT MIRROR MIRROR STUDIO IS A MIRROR. SCOTT IS THE ARTIST WHO MADE THESE SCULPTURES AND SHE ALSO DOES A LOT OF PAINTING JUST AS OUTSTANDING GALLERY DOWN THE SOUTH END AND SO WE MET WITH HER IN THE JOURNAL THE OTHER DAY AND WE'LL BE POSTING MYRTLE AT LEAST THROUGH THE TOURIST SEASON I BELIEVE AND WE'LL SEE HOW LONG WE CAN MAKE A PERMANENT HOME OR MAYBE EVEN GET A PERMANENT HOME FOR. BUT THIS WILL BE AN EDUCATIONAL PIECE. THERE'S A GREAT CHANCE TO TALK TO TOURISTS AND INTRODUCE THEM.

THEY HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE TO OUR UNIQUE SEA TURTLE ECOSYSTEM THAT WE'VE GOT HERE AND JUST THIS SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS YOU DO HAVE TO MAKE WHEN YOU'RE WHEN YOU'RE ON THE BEACHES WHETHER YOU LIVE OR SAY NEXT TO THE BEACH OR WHETHER YOU'RE HAVING A RECREATIONAL TIME ON THE BEACH. YOU KNOW, THE WHOLE WHOLE DIGGING AND LEAVING TRASH AND THAT KIND OF THING. WHAT YOU HAVE UP TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO THAT BECAUSE I'VE BEEN HERE THEIR WHOLE LIVES AND THEY'RE YOU KNOW, THIS IS PART OF THEIR THERE BEING BUT THIS WILL BE AN EXCITING THING TO HAVE IN THE TRAUMA PROBABLY HAVING A MONITOR WITH A LITTLE MOVIE SHOWING ABOUT THE SEA TURTLE EDUCATION AND WE'LL EXPAND THAT INTO DIFFERENT OPPORTUNITIES OUT THERE FOR SOME FUN THINGS IN THE TERMINAL.

BUT WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS. AND LIKE I SAID, IT'S A NEW DEVELOPING STORY BUT I THINK IT'LL BE A NEAT ADDITION TO HAVE PROBABLY DOWN ABOUT THE LANGUAGE PRACTICALLY WE CAN CAPTURE THE TOURISTS WHO COME TYPES THAT WILL GET INTO THE MUD.

THE NUMBERS HERE. HEAD ISLAND AGAIN THIS IS IN YOUR BACKUP IN YOUR INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL READ THROUGH THESE. ANYBODY TAKE A LOOK AT THESE AS YOU GET NUMBERS? DO NOW. KEPLER SOMEBODY OFF OF ME AND

HOWARD IT ME TO DO. >> I THINK I CAUGHT EVERYBODY AND GO ON THEIR SO WE DO

SEPARATE SOMEBODY OKATIE THING . >> IT'S JIM.

>> JIM LOOKS LIKE ON ME RIGHT NOW. ALL RIGHT.

THE ECHO SEEMS TO HAVE GONE AWAY. OK.

SO JENNY, WE SEPARATE YOU CAN SEE THAT'S THE STANDARD PRIVATE DNA AND THEN THIS IS YOUR COMMERCIAL AND IT'S NOT EXPECTED TO SAY IT WILL BE BUT KIND OF THING.

>> BUT YOU KNOW ALL THAT. IT'S NOT TERRIBLE. ALL THINGS CONSIDERED IN THIS YOU TOTAL PASSENGER COUNT IN 2020 IS IN THE SOLID COLORS YOU'RE LOOKING SOLID RED IN THE SOLID GREEN FOR AMERICAN AND DELTA FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS I DELTA GETS THE

AWARD FOR CONSISTENCY OVER THE LAST FIVE MONTHS. >> ALL RIGHT.

ANY QUESTIONS ON HILTON HEAD ISLAND? ALL RIGHT.

SEEING NONE WOULD TURN IT BACK OVER TO YOU, MR. CHAIRMAN. LET ME.

I NEED YOU TO ANSWER THE SCREEN AND THEN I'LL BRING IT BACK. >> THERE YOU GO.

>> OK. I THINK GOOD. THANK YOU, JOHN.

THE REPORT ANY QUESTIONS, ANY A OF COMMENTS TO ANY PART GOING TO REPORT WHETHER IT'S HILTON

HEAD OR OVER A RW OK. >> WELL THINGS ARE ROLLING ALL WELL.

EXCELLENT. I DON'T RECALL ANY UNFINISHED BUSINESS LEFT FROM A NOVEMBER MEETING AS ANY BOARD MEMBER WOULD CALL A MEETING ANY UNFINISHED BUSINESS THAT WE

NEED TO ADDRESS. >> DO YOU KNOW THAT JOHN? I THINK IT'S COMING BACK TO YOU UNDER THE NEW BUSINESS HEADING AND I GUESS YOU'LL GO INTO THE ACTION ITEMS THAT YOU'RE

WORKING FOR. >> SURE. WE CAN DO THAT.

AND AGAIN, I PUT ALL THESE ACTION INTO YOUR PACKAGE SO HOPEFULLY HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK

[11. HILTON HEAD ISLAND AIRPORT (HXD) - CONTRACT EXTENSION - SOUTHERN PALMETTO LANDSCAPES, INC. ]

AT THOSE. THE FIRST ONE HAS ALREADY GONE THROUGH THE COUNTY COUNCIL'S

[00:45:01]

COMMITTEE. SO SOMETIMES WE END UP GETTING A LITTLE BIT OUT OF SYNC JUST BECAUSE OF THE SCHEDULE FOR MEETINGS. BUT THE CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH PALMETTO IS JUST THE SOUTHERN PALMETTO. DOES THE LANDSCAPE WORK AT THE TERMINAL AND AROUND THE J SIDE OVER THE PARKING LOTS AND IN BACK THE HANGARS? AND WE BENEFIT FROM THE TOWN OF HILL HAD ISLAND CONTRACT THE TOWN CONTRACTS SEVERAL LANDSCAPING COMPANIES TO DO PUBLIC SPACES IN THE ROAD AREAS TO.

THE QUARTER DOORS AND THINGS LIKE THAT WITH LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE.

AND ANYWAY THE PALMETTO HANDLES OUR AREA AROUND THE AIRPORT AND SO WE'RE ABLE TO CATCH A RIDE ON THAT CONTRACT AND USE SOUTHERN PALMETTO TO TAKE CARE OF THAT LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE FOR US. SO THE TOWN OPTED TO EXTEND THEIR CONTRACT BY TWO YEARS AND SO WE JUST HAD TO TAKE THAT EXTENSION THROUGH OUR PIPELINE AS WELL.

SO IT'S ALREADY BEEN APPROVED BY COUNCIL. BUT I DO NEED THE THE BOARD TO JUST BE ON RECORD KIND OF APPROVING THAT POST POST KIND OF A COUNCIL BY WEEK.

>> WE CAN CERTAINLY DO THAT. I NEED A MOTION BE MADE TO APPROVE THE SOUTHERN PALMETTO LANDSCAPES CONTRACT ANYBODY WILLING TO MAKE THAT MOTION OK .

JIM. SO YOUR HAND AND AND CHRIS SO LET'S GO UP TO CHRIS IS THE SECOND FOR THAT MOTION. AND IF NOBODY OBJECTS, WE'LL DO THIS BY A VOICE, NOT A ROLL CALL. SO BY VOICE VOTE IN FAVOR PLEASE.

MAY I RAISE YOUR HAND IN SCREEN? >> I I.

ANY OPPOSED ANY ABSTAINS THAT MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY. >> MEAN JOHN IF YOU WANT TO

[12. RENEWAL OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND AIRPORT MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT WITH THE TOWN OF HILTON HEAD FOR COORDINATED FIRE RESCUE SERVICES ]

DISCUSS THE SECOND ONE FOR THE MUTILATED TOUR TO THE SECOND ONE IS IN AGREEMENT THAT WE'VE GOT WITH ACTUALLY KIND OF THAT ISLAND AND OUR ARF AIRCRAFT RESCUE FIREFIGHTING GROUP HAS A BACK AND FORTH THAT PROVIDE AID TO EACH OTHER IF NEEDED AND THIS IS AN AGREEMENT THAT'S BEEN IN PLACE FOR A VERY LONG TIME. AND THE FOLKS OVER AT HILTON HEAD ISLAND FIRE RESCUE WE'RE UPDATING THEIR FILES AND DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO JUST PULL OUT THIS DOCUMENT AND UPDATE IT. SO THEY DID SOME WORK ON THEIR SIDE. WE DID A COUPLE LITTLE EDITS ON OUR SIDE AND THEY'RE RUNNING THIS THROUGH A COUNCIL COMMITTEE AS WELL GROWTH INFORMATION.

I THINK THIS MIGHT ACTUALLY GO ALL THE WAY TO COUNCIL JUST SINCE IT IS A MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWN AND THE COUNTY. SO NOTHING CHANGED ON IT.

IT JUST PLEDGES HELP FROM BETWEEN BOTH OF THE DIFFERENT FIREFIGHTING ENTITIES.

OK, I JUST WANT TO ADD MY BOARD MEMBERS SINCE YOU ALL GET THIS MATERIAL IN ADVANCE OF THE MEETING. I HOPE YOU'RE TAKING THE TIME TO READ THROUGH IT.

YOU SHOULD BECOME FAMILIAR WITH IT TAKES A LOT OF TIME TO PUT THIS STUFF TOGETHER SO PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. I ACCEPT EMOTIONAL PROOF THE RENEWAL OF THE HILTON HEAD ISLAND AIRPORT MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT WITH THE TOWN BUILT A COORDINATED FIRE RESCUE SERVICES THAT BRIAN MAKING THE MOTION SECOND JIM TO MAKING THE SECOND.

SAME THING. NOBODY OBJECTS. WELL WE'LL JUST DO A VOICE VOTE OR RAISE OUR HANDS ALL IN FAVOR PLEASE SIGNIFY BY SAYING I RAISE YOUR HAND ON THE SCREEN.

>> OK, ANY OPPOSED ANY STAINS? THERE IS NONE. THE MOTION PASSES.

[13. AIRPORT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (ACIP) LISTS FOR BEAUFORT EXECUTIVE AIRPORT (ARW) AND HILTON HEAD ISLAND AIRPORT )HXD)]

OK. JOHN IF YOU WANT ALSO TAKE SOME TIME AND EXPLAIN THE CAPTAIN PROVEN PROGRAMS IN THE CONTRACT AWARD FOR THE GATES JR. WE TALKED ABOUT THE CAPITAL

IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. >> IF YOU WANT I CAN SHARE MY SCREEN I DID FOR THE GRAPHICS IN WITH THE WITH THE PACKAGE BUT JUST IN CASE YOU DON'T HAVE THAT HANDY I WILL GO AHEAD AND SHARE THIS REAL QUICKLY SO YOU CAN SEE IT. YOU SHOULD SEE A GRAPHIC COMING UP ON YOUR SCREEN. IT'S A WHAT YOU'RE SEEING THERE W THERE WERE SOME PRETTY COLORS ON THERE WE GO BEST WE HAVE IT IN. OK SO WHAT THIS IS BASICALLY EVERY YEAR AND PROBABLY REMEMBER THE AIRPORT THE DEPARTMENT WORKS WITH THE FAA AND WE WANT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT LIST WHICH IS A FIVE YEAR LOOK AHEAD IN THE REAL PURPOSE TO HELP BOTH THE AIRPORTS AND THE FAA A PLAN FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS AND THEN THE FUNDING ASSOCIATED WITH THOSE PROJECTS AND IT'S ALWAYS AN INTERESTING DANCE BECAUSE THE FAA DOESN'T KNOW EXACTLY HOW MUCH FUNDING THEY'RE GONNA HAVE FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.

[00:50:01]

>> SO WE WILL GIVE IT KIND ESTIMATES AND BEST EFFORTS BASED ON THE AVAILABLE INFORMATION THE FAA HAS GOT FUNDING WISE AND WE PUT TOGETHER A FIVE YEAR LOOK AHEAD. SO BE FOR AN EXECUTIVE. AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE GRAPHIC THERE ARE OUTLINES WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS. BUT THE FOCUS IS REALLY ON THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS W IS WORKING ON THE RUNWAY SAFETY AREA IMPROVEMENTS GETTING THOSE UP TO WITH THE FAA STANDARDS AND WORKING ON THAT PARALLEL TAXIWAY AS WELL AS DOING A REHAB OF THAT RUNWAY SURFACE BECAUSE IT IS STARTING A LITTLE BIT AGED OUT THERE AND WE'LL HAVE TO DO A REHAB WITHIN THE NEXT FEW YEARS SO YOU CAN SEE THERE ARE SOME WE USE A WORD OR A COUPLE TIMES ON THERE AND A LOT OF THAT IS BECAUSE THE FAA PRIORITIES AND FUNDING MAY CHANGE BETWEEN NOW AND THOSE YEARS THAT WE GET TO THOSE PROJECTS.

SO WE'LL SEE ALL THAT LINES UP. BUT THAT'S KIND OF A FIVE YEAR PLAN FOR AIR W.

>> ALL RIGHT. THERE'S NO QUESTIONS ON THAT ALL ADVANCED IT TO HILTON HEAD AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THE FOCUS HERE IS ON. OH, CHRIS, HANG ON.

I SEE A WAVE IN FRANTIC WAY THERE. I HAVE A MEDIA.

YEAH. OH YEAH. I'VE GOT A MOVIE ABOUT THAT.

BUT FOR ME EXPLAINING WHAT THE GREEN BRAIN IS AT THE BOTTOM THERE THE GREEN BLOCK IT SHOULDN'T EASEMENT RE ACQUISITION REIMBURSEMENT TO THAT IS THAT FOR THE WETLANDS

ISSUE WE HAD NO ACTUALLY THE PERSON THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION. >> THE NAVIGATION EASEMENT REIMBURSEMENT IS ACTUALLY IT'S AN OLDER PROJECT BUT THIS IS KIND OF LIKE LAND ACQUISITION IN THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE ENTIRE PROJECT COMPLETED BEFORE YOU CAN APPLY FOR REIMBURSEMENT WITH THE FAA. SO THIS WAS ACTUALLY RELATED TO THE TREE TRIMMING AND REMOVAL PROJECT THAT HAPPENED DOWN AT THE RUNWAY 7 N OFF AIRPORT AND REALLY IN THE MID AND MAYBE TO THOUSANDS BY TWO THOUSAND SIX TWO 2009 TIMEFRAME. MOST OF THE ALLEGATION EASEMENTS WERE OBTAINED BY THE COUNTY AND THEN THE LAST FEW WERE OBTAINED IN PROBABLY 13 AND 14 AS THAT WAS COMING BOARD . BUT YOU HAVE TO WAIT TILL ALL OF THAT WORK IS DONE AND PAID FOR BEFORE YOU CAN REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE FAA.

SO WE'RE AT THAT POINT NOW. IT'S NOT A HIGH DOLLAR ITEM AND THERE'S NOT MUCH MONEY AT THE FAA FOR GENERAL AVIATION AIRPORTS THIS YEAR. SO IT MATCHED UP PRETTY WELL.

WE'RE GOING TO MAKE THAT REQUEST THIS YEAR. THANK YOU.

YEAH. GREAT QUESTION. BATHING ELSE IN AIR DEBBIE OK.

RIGHT HERE ON THAT ISLAND THE FOCUS OBVIOUSLY FOR THE NEXT YEAR OR SO IS GOING TO BE THE THERMAL EXPANSION AND AS YOU MAY RECALL, WE HAVE RECEIVED THE FIRST FAA GRANT WAS A

SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT THAT WE RECEIVED LAST YEAR. >> NOW AS FOR 10 MILLION DOLLARS AND I'LL TAKE CARE OF DESIGN AND SOME OF THE INITIAL PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION AND THE F 22 ITEM THAT'S LISTED THERE WOULD BE THE SECOND 10 MILLION THAT THE FAA HAS PLEDGED TOWARDS THE TERMINAL PROJECT. SO WE'RE HOPING THAT THAT DOES HAPPEN AND F WHY 22 AGAIN? YOU NEVER KNOW WITH WHAT THE FEDERAL FUNDING AND THEN AFTER THAT AND EQUALLY IMPORTANT IS GOING TO BE STRENGTHENING PROJECTS FOR THE RUNWAY AND THE TAXIWAYS BECAUSE WITH THE COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT AND THE INCREASE IN GENERAL AVIATION AIRCRAFT WE DO NEED TO INCREASE THE WEIGHT BEARING CASSIDY OF BOTH THE RUNWAY AND THE TAXIWAYS. WE'RE FINE AT THIS POINT BUT OVER TIME WE'RE GOING TO ADD LARGER AIRCRAFT AND MORE FREQUENT USAGE ANTICIPATED WITH THOSE HEAVY AIRCRAFT AND SO WE NEED TO STRIKE ON THOSE SURFACES OUT THERE AND THEN TOWARDS THE END OF THAT YOU'LL SEE THE BLUE WITHOUT LAND ACQUISITION REIMBURSEMENT. AGAIN, LIKE CHRIS, THIS QUESTION BEFORE THAT'S PEACE THAT HAS TO HAS TO WAIT NOT EVERY ONE OF THE PARCELS HIGHLIGHTED ON THERE MAY BE INCLUDED IN THAT PROJECT PROBABLY THEY WON'T.

THE ONES ON ONE HUNTER ROAD WHICH LOOK LIKE A FIELD HOCKEY STICK UP THERE KIND OF IN THE TOP MIDDLE THOSE WILL BE INCLUDED. BUT AGAIN THAT HAS TO WAIT UNTIL THOSE PROJECTS ARE COMPLETED AND WE'VE PAID FOR THEM ON OUR SIDE AND THEN WE BRING WE REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE FAA. SO THAT'S KIND OF WE'RE LOOKING AT FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS AT THE HILTON HEAD. MR. CHAIRMAN, I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS. HAVE WE COMPLETED THE LAND ACQUISITION THAT WAS DESIGNED TO EXTEND THE AIRPORT FOOTPRINT OF THE NEW AIRPORT? I GUESS ON THE SOUTHWEST SIDE YOUR HOCKEY STICK I THINK IS WHERE THAT IS. OF ALL THOSE PARCELS ACTUALLY BEEN ACQUIRED, ARE THEY STILL IN THE PROCESS OF NOW FOUR OR FIVE HAVE BEEN ACQUIRED.

[00:55:05]

ALL RIGHT. I HAVE ONE LEFT. IS THE FIFTH POSING A PROBLEM

OR IS THAT JUST A TIMING ISSUE? >> IT'S ONE IT WE HAD SOME COMMUNICATION ISSUES EARLY ON THE PROPERTY NOT FROM SOUTH CAROLINA. SO IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE PROPERTY OWNER. SO THAT WAS JUST TAKING A LITTLE BIT LONGER.

OKAY. AND THEN I HAVE SAME QUESTION ON THE I GUESS WOULD BE THE SOUTH EAST SIDE. YOU DESIGNED TWO PARCELS POTENTIALLY TO BE ACQUIRED AND

PHYSICAL IN FISCAL 2026. >> WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF THE ACQUISITION OF THAT?

THOSE THOSE PROPERTIES? >> WELL, AGAIN, I DON'T KNOW WHETHER OR NOT THOSE WILL HAPPEN. I THINK YOU BOTH THOSE ARE LISTED ON THE MASTER PLAN BUT THE ONE TO THE LEFT SO FARTHER TO THE SOUTH IN THAT'S ALL SELF-STORAGE UNITS DOWN THERE IN THE THE O FE LINE GOES RIGHT THROUGH THOSE BUILDINGS. SO WE CURRENTLY HAVE A MODIFICATION OF STANDARDS BY THE FHA BECAUSE THIS IS AGAIN GO BACK TO JUST HISTORICAL I'D SAY NON COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE COUNTY PLANNING AND THE AIRPORT YEARS AGO WHEN DEVELOPMENT WAS ALLOWED JUST TO CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT AND UNFORTUNATELY WE'RE SEEING SOME OF THAT NOW AS WELL OFF AIRPORT . BUT IT JUST SHOWS WE NEED TO COORDINATE A LITTLE BIT BETTER BETWEEN BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES TO MAKE SURE THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN BECAUSE THAT BECOMES A VERY EXPENSIVE PROJECT.

AS I SAID, THE FAA IS, YOU KNOW, GRANTED A MODIFICATION OF STANDARDS AND WE DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY'RE GOING TO PRESS THAT THAT BE LIFTED IF IF IT DOES IT WOULD REQUIRE US TO ACQUIRE THOSE PROPERTIES. BUT HASN'T THAT SAME ABOVE SEEN APPLIED TO THE PARCEL AT THE MILITARY SIDE DOWN MY BABY THAT ONE THAT I'VE UFA BUT THAT IS THAT'S ON THE MASTER PLAN

BECAUSE THAT'S ADJACENT TO OUR HANGAR AREAS. >> IT WOULD BE AN IDEAL LOCATION FOR EXPANSION OF HANGARS. THANK YOU.

>> ALL RIGHT. SO THAT TAKES CARE THE COPD AND AGAIN I'LL TELL YOU WE ARE A LITTLE BIT FLIP FLOP WITH COUNTY COUNCIL BECAUSE I PRESENTED THIS TO PUBLIC FACILITIES COMMITTEE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND AGAIN IT WAS JUST AN INFORMATIONAL PRESENTATION AT COUNCIL AND IT REALLY IS TO YOU AS WELL. I CERTAINLY WOULD APPRECIATE AN APPROVAL BY USE OF DFA KNOWS THAT YOU'VE SEEN IT. BUT AGAIN THIS IS NOT A REQUEST TO EXPEND ANY FUNDS AT THIS POINT. IT IS A PLANNING DOCUMENT.

SO ONCE WE GET TO THE POINT OR EXECUTING CONTRACTS, OBVIOUSLY YOU WEIGH IN ON THAT AS WELL.

WHAT DO YOU NEED A MOTION FOR YOUR ITEM NUMBER 13 A CAP ON COPAYMENTS AS WELL AS THE

SENSING OR ASSET THAT OUR INFORMATION ONLY AT THIS TIME. >> WELL, I WOULD LIKE YES, I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THOSE SEPARATELY AND I DID YOU ONLY BRIEF THE FENCING AFTER YOU VOTE ON THIS ONE THAT BEFORE I WILL ACCEPT A MOTION TO APPROVE THE AIRPORT CAP ON PODIUM

PROGRAM AS DESCRIBED BY JOHN ANY MOTION MAKERS BY JIM AND I? >> CHRIS, I THOUGHT I SAW YOUR WAY WAIVE AND SAME THING WE'LL DO THIS BY VOICE VOTE IF THAT'S ACCEPTABLE EVERYBODY ELSE.

ALL IN FAVOR OF THE MOTION PLEASE SIGNIFY BY SAYING BY WAVING A HAND AT THE SCREEN ANY OPPOSED ANY ABSTAINS THAT MOTION PASSES. OKAY.

[14. HILTON HEAD ISLAND AIRPORT (HXD) – CONTRACT AWARD FOR AUTOMATIC GATES]

JOHN IF YOU DO THE LAST ONE THEN ON THE ON THE GATES. ABSOLUTELY.

THANK YOU. THE VOTE SO FAR. BILL GATES IF YOU CAN CHECK OUT ON THE AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO THERE AND I THINK I EXPLAINED THAT MAY BE THE LAST MEANING WE'VE GOT A COUPLE OF GATES THAT NEED TO BE UPGRADED FROM MANUAL GATES TO THE AUTOMATIC GATES. ONE OF THOSE IS LOCATED ON DEVLIN ROAD AND THAT'S ADJACENT TO OUR HELICOPTER PAD WHERE ALL THE MEDEVACS ARE CONDUCTED. AGAIN, THAT'S THE ONLY PLACE ON THE ISLAND WHERE THERE IS A VERY URGENT EMERGENCY THAT HAPPENS HAVE THIS DEAL IN PLACE WHERE HELICOPTERS LAND TO DO MEDEVAC. SO WE DO NEED TO HAVE THAT AS AS AN AUTOMATIC GATE WITH THE PUT DOWN OUR SYSTEM SO THAT OUR FIRST RESPONDERS OR EMERGENCY SERVICES CAN ACCESS THE AIRPORT AGAIN. THAT'S KIND OF WHERE THAT MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT COMES BECAUSE OUR OUR FOLKS RESPOND TO MEDEVACS AS WELL.

SO OUR GUYS WILL SIT THERE AT THE PAD WHILE THE FIRST RESPONDERS COME TO THAT GATE.

SO THAT GATE NUMBER NUMBER ONE ON THIS THAT NEEDS TO BE MADE INTO AUTOMATIC.

AND THE SECOND ONE IS LOCATED IN OUR NEW ADMIN OFFICE IN BADGING FACILITY AND THAT GATE IS CURRENTLY JUST A SWING GATE AS THE DEVIL SWING GATE AND AS WE GET BUSIER BUSIER WITH BADGING, WE REALLY NEED TO HAVE THAT AS AN AUTOMATIC GATE. IT WOULD BE SIMILAR TO WHAT YOU COME INTO WITH THE AFT OF THE KEYPAD AS WELL AS A CAMERA. AND THAT WAY WHEN FOLKS COME UP FOR THEIR BADGE AND RENEWALS OR THEIR APPLICATIONS WE CAN PHYSICALLY SEE WHO'S THERE AT THE GATE AND THEN WE CAN MAKE THE DECISION AS TO WHETHER WE ALLOW THE MAINTENANCE INSIDE

[01:00:02]

THE FENCE LINE OR NOT. SO THOSE ARE THE TWO GATES. WE DID RECEIVE THE BIDS AND THIS POINT BASED ON THOSE BIDS. BULLSEYE IS THE PROVIDER WHO APPEARS TO BE THE THE LOWEST BID AND A QUALIFIED VENDOR. QUESTIONS FOR JOHN ON THE GATES AND I THINK WAS PRETTY WELL EXPLAINED MATERIAL THAT BE SENT TO ALL OF US. NO QUESTIONS.

I'LL ACCEPT THE MOTION TO IMPROVE THE CONTRACT AWARD FOR THE AUTOMATIC GATES AS DESCRIBED BY JOHN OWN MOTION AND MOTION AND LESLIE A SECOND. THANK YOU ALL A FAVOR ONCE AGAIN SIGNIFY BY THE EYE OR HANDRAIL AND SAY HI AND ANY OPPOSED ANY ABSTAINS I'D SAY

NONE. >> THE MOTION PASSES. THANK YOU EVERYBODY RIGHT ON

THAT. >> ALL RIGHT, MR. CHAIRMAN IS BACK TO YOU.

[COMMITTEE REPORTS (Part 1 of 2)]

ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU. VERY COMPREHENSIVE OUTSTANDING COMMITTEE REPORT TODAY JUST ONE NOTE PUNCH AT THIS TIME SHE HAD OUR NEWEST HER BOARD MEMBER.

TOM, WELCOME AGAIN. NOW JOHN, HE HAS AGREED TO JOIN THE PASSENGER SERVICE COMMITTEE ,BEEN WORKING WITH LESLEY AND ANN AS THAT COMMITTEE SHOULD BE GETTING A LITTLE MORE ACTIVE IN THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO AND LESLIE SAID WE HAVE A FAIRLY COMPLETE PLANS TO LOOK AT AN IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS OF WHAT MIGHT BE KNOWN AS THE TERMINAL PROJECT CONTINUES TO MOVE FORWARD. THANKS FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THAT COMMITTEE.

WE DO HAVE A FEW COMMITTEE REPORTS UNFORTUNATELY. JENNY, YOU STILL HERE?

>> TRY SPEAKING. WE'LL TRY ONE MORE TIME. WE'LL HAVE TO BYPASS JOHN.

IF YOU WANT A MUTINY HERE, WHERE IS HE UP TO MEET HIMSELF. >> WE'VE GOT A GUEST IN WHICH PAUL I'M GOING TO WHICH CALL AND USER HE IS ALSO THE MOMENT MAYBE UNMOVED EVERYBODY FOR THE

MOMENT CAME ON TO ME. >> I MEET A COUPLE FOLKS WHO THOUGHT YOU DON'T NEED TO TALK TALK BUT I'M NOT TRYING TO GET YOU A MUTED HERE. I WOULD SAY YOU FOR GENERAL TABLE IN HERE. YEAH. NOT ALINA IF YOU LISTEN I NEED YOU TO POTENTIALLY CALL THREE BECAUSE MINE'S NOT A MEETING IN I'M TRYING BUT ALL I CAN DO IS TO SEND THE REQUESTS TO ON MUTE AND IS TO BE APPROVED. AND IT'S NOT WORKING WHO HAS TO

APPROVE THE I AM SURE WHO IS DRIVING THIS TRAIN? >> I THINK IT'S CUTE BUT I THINK IT'S A SPANISH FEATURE. IT COULD BE SOMETHING IN BETWEEN SAY JIM.

>> ALL RIGHT. I'D LIKE TO MAKE A SUGGESTION IN ORDER TO EXPEDITE THIS.

I HOPE YOU KEEP TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHEN WE SEE IF I NEED TO GO BACK.

BUT JIM, MAYBE YOU CAN TAKE THE TIME AND SEND OUT A COMMITTEE REPORT TO THE BOARD MEMBERS SO AT LEAST THEY HAVE A CHANCE TO READ WHAT YOU DID AND THEN HAVE A LOOK AT WHAT YOU HAD GONE THROUGH. JOHN, I NOTICE YOU AND JOHN SPENT A LOT OF TIME AT THIS IF YOU COULD DO THAT. IF YOU'RE NOT ON EUROPE BEFORE THE END OF THE MEETING SAID THE BOARD MEMBERS A COMMITTEE MEMBER THAT WOULD BE GREAT. THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT. LEAVE IT ON. DON'T GIVE UP.

KEEP TRYING. IT MIGHT HAPPEN. THE FINANCE COMMITTEE ALSO DID MEET WITH JOHN ON JANUARY 12TH. THE FINANCE COMMITTEE MET WITH THE AIRPORT DIRECTOR OF PRELIMINARY INFORMATION FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR. THE MEETING WAS INITIATED BY JOHN. AND WE THANK HIM FOR THAT FOR REALLY GETTING STARTED EARLY THIS YEAR. AND IN ATTENDANCE FOR THE COMMITTEE WAS MYSELF.

CHRIS BUTLER, BRIAN AND DAN WILL ALL PART THE COMMITTEE ALSO JOINING JOHN IN THE MEETING WITH STEVE PERRY, DEPUTY OPPOSED RECORD MOLLY MEYERS NOW A NEW BUSINESS MANAGER. AGAIN, WE THANK JOHN FOR GETTING STARTED.

EARLIER JOHN TOOK THE TIME AS HE DID AT THE MEETING TO EXPLAIN SOME OF THE CHALLENGES LAST YEAR WITH IN TERMS OF EXPENSES AND REVENUES AND WENT THROUGH SOME CHALLENGES.

HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO CREATE A BUDGET WITH A LOT OF THE UNKNOWNS THAT HE FACES AS WE GO FORWARD. THERE WERE SEVERAL CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS PUT FORTH BY FOLKS FROM THE UAW AND HILTON EDWARDS. THE PROJECTS THAT MAY BE CONSIDERED AND JOHN I'LL TAKE THAT UNDER ADVISEMENT AND COME BACK TO THAT AS WE GET MORE DETAILS ON THE BUDGET.

VERY SUCCESSFUL MEETING HELPED US ALL UNDERSTAND THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT HE HAS TO ENDURE ATTEMPTING TO PUT TOGETHER THIS REALLY PRECONCEIVED BUDGET.

SO THAT'S IT FOR THE FINANCE REPORT. ANY QUESTIONS ON IT HEARING

[01:05:05]

NONE. >> CHRIS, ANYTHING FROM THE RW GROUP MANY CAN HEAR YOU BUT

I'LL TAKE THAT AS A NO NO. >> I TRY AGAIN. >> CHRIS.

OK. >> HE'S OK. THE RECORD.

I'LL TAKE THAT. AND THEN ANALYST LEE, THE PASSENGER SERVICE GROUP

ANYTHING TO REPORT? >> NOTHING YET. I KNOW YOU'LL BE HAPPY HAVE

REPORT FOR YOU NEXT MONTH, THE MONTH AFTER. >> WE HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU ON

SOME THOUGHTS AND IDEAS AS WE MOVE FORWARD. >> HOWARD, ARE YOU SPEAKING ABOUT THE NEW THE TERMINAL OR THE OLD ONE? YES.

>> AS THE NEW TERMINAL MOVES STEADILY FORWARD AND GETS PAST THE DESIGN PHASE AND GETS OUT TO BID MAYBE THINK ABOUT SOME OF THE IDEAS AND THOUGHTS THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE FOR THE NEW TERMINAL ONCE WE'RE FINALLY IN PLACE. OK.

>> WELL THANK YOU. THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT.

[16. CITIZEN COMMENT (Every member of the public who is recognized to speak shall limit comments to three minutes)]

NO OTHER COMMITTEE REPORTS. ONCE AGAIN WE HAVE A SESSION THAT WE WE WILL OPEN THE MEETING UP TO ANY OF OUR CITIZENS OR VISITOR COMMENTS. AND I REMIND YOU AGAIN, PLEASE ATTEMPT TO HOLD YOUR COMMENTS TO THREE MINUTES NOW. SO GLEN, GO TO IT.

THANK YOU. I TRY. I'M TRYING TO MONITOR THE ACTIVITY IN THE FAA DEALING WITH ST. JAMES CHURCH. I COMMUNICATE WITH JOHN A FEW WEEKS AGO. HE SAID HE DID. IF THEY HAVE WHAT THEY NEED.

BUT THERE WAS NO REPORT. MY FOLLOW UP TO THAT, JOHN, IS DO YOU HAVE AN EXPECTATION ANY EXPECTATION WHEN WE MIGHT HEAR A RESPONSE FROM THE FAA ABOUT THE ST. JAMES CHURCH PROJECT? I REALLY DON'T HAVE A GOOD EXPECTATION FOR IT. SO THEY'RE THEY'RE IN THE THROES FROM APPROVING SOME OF OUR GRANT CLOSEOUT APPLICATIONS AND THINGS LIKE THAT AS WELL AS PROBABLY EVERYTHING ELSE IS GOING ON WITH THE TWO KNOWN AS IT WAS PASSED YEAR AFTER CHRISTMAS. THEY'RE TRYING TO FIGURE HOW THAT'S GOING TO GET DONE AT THE AIRPORT. SO I HATE TO TELL YOU THAT THEY'RE PROBABLY OVERCOME BY EVENTS BUT THEY PROBABLY ARE. WELL, I APPRECIATE THE REPORT. EVERYONE IS INTERESTED IN THAT.

SO JUST TRY TO STAY UP TO DATE . THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

SURE. AND I WILL. I'LL FOLLOW UP ON GLENN.

I'LL JUST SEND THEM A FRIENDLY NUDGE AND SEE IF WE CAN GET THE GET A REPORT FROM THEM WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. THANK YOU, SIR. I JUST WANNA REMIND EVERYBODY IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU SHOULD WEIGH NOW. THE PLANE WAS SIX REPRESENTATIVE TO THE HILL COUNCIL AND THE AIRPORT IS IN WARD 6.

SO NICE TO HAVE YOU ON STOOPS. LET'S RODMAN WHO'S BEAUFORT COUNTY COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE.

>> HAPPY TO HAVE YOU. GOOD. >> THANK YOU.

I JUST ONE QUICK ITEM WE HAVE OUR COUNTY COUNCIL RETREAT. THE WEEK AFTER NEXT AND WE WILL BE TYPICALLY AT THOSE THINGS. WE GET INTO KIND OF LONG TERM POLICY ISSUES AND THAT TYPE OF THING. SO SOME OF THE THINGS THAT THE AIRPORTS HAVE GOING ON THE BUDGET FOR NEXT YEAR THE YOU KNOW, THE SHORT TERM CAPITAL THOSE THINGS KIND OF GET TAKEN CARE OF ELSEWHERE BUT IT'S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY IF THERE'S SOME LONGER TERM THINGS THAT WE NEED TO BE BRINGING COUNCIL ALONG ON. JARED KNIGHT TALKING WILL PROBABLY WANT TO MEET WITH JOHN BEFORE THAT TO SEE WHICH ITEMS WE MIGHT WANT TO TALK ABOUT BECAUSE THE AIRPORTS DO RISE TO ONE OF THOSE ONES THAT WE WILL PROBABLY WANT TO WANT TO.

WANT TO TALK ABOUT. SO JUST A JUST A HEADS UP THAT IF THERE WAS A YOU KNOW, SOME ITEMS THAT YOU THINK LONG TERM THAT ARE POLICY RELATED, IT CERTAINLY MAKE SURE THAT JOHN KNOWS ABOUT THOSE WE GET THOSE THAT THOSE ON THE TABLE. THANK YOU.

>> OK. ANY OTHER COMMENTS DURING A PUBLIC SESSION? I WOULD I THINK I MEAN I THINK I'M A NEUTERED NOW. OH, ALL RIGHT, JIM.

[COMMITTEE REPORTS (Part 2 of 2)]

HERE WE GO. LET'S WE'RE GOING TO BACK UP GO TO COMMITTEE IN PERSON.

JIM, GO TO IT. >> I VERY BRIEFLY LESLIE AND I AND THE CHAIRMAN MET WHERE THE COMMITTEE REPORT BACK ON 17 DECEMBER AND FOLLOWING THAT I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING WITH STEVE AND JOHN ON THE 18TH OF JANUARY AND I'LL JUST DO A FEW HIGHLIGHTS.

NUMBER ONE, WE ALL AGREE THAT THE ALBUM MARKET MARKETING CATEGORY EACH TO BE HANDLED BY THE PROFESSIONALS IN ITS CURRENT FORM. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT EFFECTIVENESS MEASURING AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE BUT WE DON'T THINK THAT WE ADD

[01:10:01]

DAMAGE ON THE COMMITTEE SHOULD BE MANAGING OR ATTEMPTING TO MANAGE THAT SEGMENT FOR THE IN MARKET CATEGORY SEVERAL THINGS THAT THEN PROVE THAT ARE IN THE PROCESS WITH THE AIRPORT DIRECTOR LOCALLY. AND HAD RECENTLY BEEN PLACED WITH THE RESTAURANT GUIDE WHICH WILL PRINT AND DISTRIBUTE TWO HUNDRED NINETY THOUSAND COPIES AT A COST OF ABOUT THIRTY SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ASSUMING TWO PEOPLE ARE EXPOSED. THIS WOULD BE LESS THAN 1 CENT PER VIEW WHICH SEEMS TO NEED TO BE A VERY GOOD MARKETING BY CURRENT LOCAL EVENTS.

>> THE AIRPORT INVOLVES THE CONCORD AND THE HERITAGE GOLF CLASSIC.

MOST MARKETING FUNDS LOCALLY ARE NOW BEING SPENT OR MOST MARKETING IS NOW BEING SPENT OUT OF MARKET AND THERE'S A THEME FOR THAT FLY TO THE FUN AND THAT SOUNDS PRETTY LOGICAL AND PRETTY GOOD. THE QUESTION IS SHOULD WE BE DEVELOPING A THEME AND MARKETING CAMPAIGN FOR IN MARKET CONVINCING OUR CITIZENS TO USE THE AIRPORT FOR THEIR TRAVEL? THAT'S SOMETHING THAT I WOULD ASK ALL OF YOU TO THINK ABOUT.

JOHN AND I CAN SEE THE DISCUSSION ON THAT IF WE WERE TO PURSUE THAT PROBABLY THE TWO THINGS THAT WE SHOULD PROMOTE WITHIN THAT KIND OF A CAMPAIGN IS THE ON TIME PERFORMANCE OF OUR CARRIERS WHICH IS PRETTY GOOD. ANYTHING ABOVE 90 PERCENT IS PRETTY USUALLY CONSIDERED EXEMPLARY. AND THEN OVER FLYING FROM HILTON HEAD AS AN EXAMPLE OVER 200 DESTINATIONS ARE INVOLVED WITH ONLY ONE STOP.

AND THAT'S A PRETTY DYNAMIC FACT OF LIFE. SO THESE ARE THE KIND OF THINGS THAT PERHAPS WE COULD BE DOING ON A LOCAL MARKET TO CONVINCE OUR FOLKS RESIDENTS TO USE THE HILTON HEAD AIRPORT. IN TERMINAL CATEGORY OF MARKETING WE ARRIVAL DEPARTURE BOARDS AND JOHN REFERS TO THESE BIDS THAT I GUESS AND I DON'T REMEMBER JOHN WITH THAT STANDS FOR BUT THEY ARE MANAGED BY THE DEPARTMENT AND A RIVAL STAFF DEPARTURE OFFSET ALL THAT STUFF IS MANAGED BY A COMPANY CALLED THE MARKED DEPARTURE MEDIA AND IT IS POSSIBLE THAT WE CAN DEVELOP SOME REVENUE FOR THE AIRPORT VIA THESE BOARDS THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LEARN WHAT THE HOW TO PROCESS IS FOR THE GENERAL ADVERTISING IN AIRPORTS

ALSO MANAGED BY DEPARTURE MEDIA . >> LESLIE, RAISE A QUESTION ABOUT THE GENERAL TV MONITORS THAT WERE IN THE AIRPORT AND WHETHER THEY COULD BE PROGRAMED TO ALLOW US TO MARKET THAT AND GENERATE REVENUE. AND JOHN SEEMS TO BE OF THE OPINION THAT THAT WOULD WORK FOR US. SO THAT'S JUST A LITTLE OVER COME LOVE WITH YOU IF YOU WILL. AND WE ALSO THOUGHT THAT IF WE COULD MEET WITH THE PUBLISHERS OF THE SYDNEY MAGAZINE LOCAL LIFE AHEAD BETTER MAYBE THEY WOULD BE NICE ENOUGH TO RECORD THE WRITER WHO GAVE US A FEW INCHES OF COLUMN SPACE EACH MONTH IN THE INTERESTS OF THE COMMUNITY TO BRING ALONG THE HIGHLIGHTS, THE NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS, THE NEW CHANGES UPDATES AND SO PUT IN BETWEEN US FOR SYDNEY MAGNUS. THERE IS A TREMENDOUS READERSHIP NUMBER ONE AND NUMBER TWO THAT HAS A LOT LONGER SHELF LIFE THAN SOMETHING PERHAPS IN THE ISLAND PACKET WHICH IS READ DAY 1 HOPEFULLY THEN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BIRD CAGE AND THE MAGAZINES THEY HANG AROUND. ANOTHER THING IS POTENTIALLY TO DEVELOP A LOCAL CONSUMER CONTEST TO CREATE MORE AWARENESS OF OUR SERVICES AND WHAT ARE OUR SERVICES. WE TEND NOT TO PROMOTE THINGS SUCH AS THE HELICOPTER TO BUY THE AVIATION, THE PILOT TRAINING AND THINGS LIKE THAT WHICH ARE EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES AT THE AIRPORT AND PERHAPS I SEE BRIAN SMILING A LITTLE BIT. I THINK THAT NOW PERHAPS WOULD HELP US PROMOTE THE ACCEPTANCE AND VIABILITY OF OUR GROWING THEN THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE WHICH CONTINUES TO MORE JOHN AND NOEL AT NADI AND THAT IS THE FACT THAT THERE IS AN AIRPORT NEARBY CALLED SAVANNAH AND THERE ARE TYPICALLY SEVERAL PASSENGERS EVERY WEEK WHO ARE IN THE WRONG AIRPORT BECAUSE OF THE SAVANNAH HILTON HEAD NAME VERSUS THE HILTON HEAD ME

[01:15:04]

ON SOME OF THE GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS AND HOW I'LL ANSWER A QUESTION THE US MODULE AND A GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM SOMETIMES STILL SHOWS UP IN FRONT OF THE WORD SAVANNAH BECAUSE OF THAT. SO SO RIGHT NOW WE HAVE THE ISSUE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO QUANTIFY THE ISSUE BUT IT IS AN ISSUE SO WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT.

AND IT'S AN ISSUE THAT CREATES CONSUMER FRUSTRATION AND MAY GO HOME.

THEY TAKE THAT CONSUMER FRUSTRATION WITHIN AND THAT'S NOT GOOD FOR OUR AIRPORT.

SO WE HAVE TO ADDRESS THAT AND FIND OUT HOW WE CAN QUANTIFY. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF LOOKING IN THE GDR SYSTEMS TO SEE IF I CAN BRING SOME EXAMPLES OF THE BUT I KNOW IT'S GOING ON JOHN KNOWS GOING ON IT MAY MAYBE WE HAD TO DO SOME KIND OF A SURVEY SMALL IN NATURE BUT AT THE AIRPORT TO FIND OUT HOW SERIOUS AN IMAGE ISSUE THAT IS. AND THEN IN BASICALLY CLOSING THOUGHT AND THIS IS ALL GENERALIZATIONS OF THE REPORT ADVOCACY WE PROBABLY ARE NOT DOING A GOOD JOB OF ADVOCACY BECAUSE WHEN JOB GOES BEFORE THE COUNTY COUNCIL JOHN GOES BEFORE THE OTHER BOARDS AND ORGANISATIONS, WE SHOULD BE TAKING A MORE ACTIVE PART IN GETTING THERE AND SUPPORTING THAT EFFORT WHICH DEMONSTRATES A BROADER BASED REPRESENTATION OF COMMUNITY AND SUPPORT FOR THE AIRPORT. AND THAT WAS A BRIEF OVERVIEW AND WILL SAVE THE MAILING EVERYTHING OUT TO YOU GUYS AND BURNING UP YOUR PAPER COMPUTERS . MAY I GO BACK TO YOUR QUESTION EARLIER HOURS ABOUT HOW THE AMERICAN SERVICE IS BEING DISTRIBUTED? NUMBER ONE, IT'S ON THEIR WEBSITE OBVIOUSLY. NUMBER TWO, IT IS IN THE GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. THEY ARE SERVICES OFFERED TO THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY THAT SCHEDULING THE EVERY AIRLINE IN THE WORLD AND THOSE ARE ON THERE NOW.

IT'S QUESTION OF WHEN IS IT LISTED AS HILTON HEAD OR IS IT LISTED SAVANNAH THAT IT SHOULD BE LISTED AS NOT YET. BUT IF SOMEONE WERE TO COME INTO THE GDR SYSTEM AND LOOK FOR HILTON HEAD AS A DESTINATION FOR A CLIENT, THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY THAT THE GERMAN HAD SLASHED SAVANNAH AIRPORT WILL SHOW UP AS WELL AS STREET HILTON HEAD AND WE THINK THAT'S A BIG BASIS OF THIS CONFUSION. THAT'S AN OVERVIEW AND I'LL

HUSH UP. >> ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, JIM.

GLAD YOU WERE FINALLY ABLE TO JOIN US. WHATEVER YOU DID IN LANE OR WHATEVER YOU DID WORK IT OUT SO WE CAN CONTINUE THIS NEXT MONTH.

I WANT TO REMIND ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS THAT WE TOO CAN BE ADVOCATES FOR THE HILTON HEAD ISLAND AIRPORT IF YOU'RE OUT TALKING TO FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS OR WITH A GROUP, REMIND THEM THAT WE'RE HERE. REMIND THEM ABOUT DIRECT FLIGHTS.

A NUMBER OF DIRECT FLIGHTS WE HAVE ESPECIALLY SO. AND AS I THINK JIM OR SOMEBODY ELSE POINTED OUT EARLIER, WE HAVE OVER 200 FLIGHTS INVOLVED, ONLY A ONE STOP WHICH IS NOT A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE AND IT'S AN ISSUE RIGHT NOW DURING THE COPA DAYS.

BUT HOPEFULLY THERE'S A LIGHT AT THE END OF THAT TUNNEL. SO WE BECOME WE SHOULD BECOME ADVOCATES FOR OUR OWN AIRPORT IN USING EVERY OPPORTUNITY THAT WE CAN.

SO ANYTHING ELSE I MEAN THE QUESTIONS FOR JIM AND HIS REPORT BRIAN.

>> JUST A QUICK ONE. >> YOU KNOW, JOHN, YOU SHOW PASSENGER VOLUME EVERY MONTH THE GRAPHS THAT WE LOOK AT AT EACH MEETING. BUT DO WE HAVE ANY INFORMATION AT ALL ABOUT HOW MANY OF THOSE PASSENGERS ARE LOCAL RESIDENTS HERE FLYING IN AND OUT OF THE

AIRPORT AS OPPOSED TO VISITORS THAT ARE HERE FOR VACATION? >> THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION,

BRIAN. >> AND TYPICALLY WE HAVE TO WAIT ON THAT INFORMATION.

WHAT WE CAN DO IS THE DST INFORMATION LAGS BY A COUPLE OF MONTHS.

BARAK HAS TOLD US HE GAVE US REPORTS ON ON ZIP CODE FROM POINT OF PURCHASE SO THAT WE NOW KNOW WHICH WAY FOLKS ARE FLYING AND WHERE THEY'RE COMING FROM SO WE CAN'T GET THOSE REPORTS AND GET A PRETTY GOOD IDEA. IT'S TYPICALLY ABOUT 70 PERCENT TOURIST, 30 PERCENT LOCAL. BUT IT'D BE INTERESTING TO SEE IN THE LAST YEAR, YOU KNOW, THE NUMBERS MAY HAVE FLIP FLOPPED AND MIGHT BE CLOSER TO 50 50 I'M NOT SURE.

SO I'LL MAKE THAT REQUEST TO THE CONSULTANTS, MAKE A POLL OUT FOR US.

THANK YOU. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR ANY COMMITTEE MEMBER, JOHN? YES, ALL RIGHT. GARY NONE. WE'RE ALMOST AT THE END.

I JUST WANNA REMIND YOU ALL OF OUR FEBRUARY 2021 MEETING. IT'LL BE ANOTHER VIRTUAL

[01:20:01]

MEETING. STILL NO IN-PERSON MEETINGS. A LOT OF HELP HERE.

AND I THINK THAT'S THE SAME POLICY THE COUNTY. SO PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU SHOULD GET MATERIALS IN ADVANCE. AND WITH THAT I'LL ACCEPT A

MOTION TO TURN THE MEETING. >> TOM, WE'VE GOT YOU AND BRIAN AS A SECOND FAVORITE THE C.I. I KNOW OUR POSITIONS. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ATTENDING EVERYBODY STAY SAFE.

WE'LL SEE YOU IN A MONTH.
